Memorie.al publishes the unknown diary of the communist leader of Albania, Enver Hoxha, kept 60 years ago, during the period October-November 1960, when he together with his closest collaborators in the senior leadership of the ALP of that time, like Mehmet Shehu, Hysni Kapo and Ramiz Alia, participated in the celebrations of the 43rd anniversary of the “Great Socialist Revolution of October” as well as the gathering of 81 communist parties from around the world held in the “Georgievskaya” hall of the Kremlin in Moscow. What does the former communist leader of Albania write about that event that is considered one of the most important in the history of communist countries around the world, but also in the relations between official Tirana and the Kremlin, which led to the final breakdown of relations between as well as what happened to the Albanian delegation, since their arrival in Moscow, the meetings with the foreign delegations of the communist parties that participated there, the aggravated talks with the Soviet side led by Nikita Khrushchev, who protested against the sentencing of Koço Tashko and Liri Belishova, etc., until the last day they were forced to leave by train from the Soviet Union… ?!

At this meeting of the Plenum we approved and the composition of the delegation that will take part in the Moscow Summit and in the celebration of the 43rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The plenum expelled Maqo Çomon from the ranks of the Central Committee of the Party.
TIRANA – BUDAPEST, THURSDAY 3 NOVEMBER 1960
WE LEAVE FOR THE SOVIET UNION
We flew to the Soviet Union, where we will take part in the celebrations of the 43rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, as well as in the Meeting of 81 Communist and Workers’ Parties to be held in Moscow. Along the way we stopped in Budapest. In the evening a dinner was given by Carol Kish, which was also attended by the Soviet ambassador to Hungary, Ustinov.
HUNGARY – SOVIET UNION, FRIDAY 4 NOVEMBER 1960
IN UZHGOROD
This morning, at 8:20 a.m., we departed by special train from Budapest to Chop (Hungarian-Soviet border). We are accompanied by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Hungary and many other friends. Hungarians are showing love and openness to us. At 22 °°, Moscow time, we arrived in Chop. There we were received by the secretary of the Uzhgorod party committee and other Soviet comrades. Cold conversation and dinner. Then by car we went and saw Uzhgorod. It was night, but we were impressed by the shops, which, although the November 7 holiday was approaching, were very poor.

WE ARRIVE IN MOSCOW
At 83 ° Moscow time, we arrived at the Kievskaya railway station in Moscow. We were received by F. Kozlov, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and a member of the Politburo. At the station the reception was official with honor guard, gang and diplomatic corps. Albanian students had also come to the station, who welcomed us with great enthusiasm. Kozlov then accompanied us to the usual villa in Zareçie. In the afternoon we took part in the solemn gathering at the Lluzhniki Sports Palace, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.

FALSE IN THE ATTITUDES OF CURRENT SOVIET LEADERS TOWARDS US
This morning, from the tribune of the mausoleum “Lenin-Stalin”, we assisted in the military parade and the popular demonstration of the people of Moscow on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Great October Revolution. The tactics applied by the current Soviet leaders, namely Kozlov, who accompanied us to Zarechia yesterday when we arrived in Moscow, do not show anything sincere on their part, why every other time we have come to this country, even in the good times, that is, without breaking the ideological differences between us, they just shook our hands and we parted from the station. Today Kozlov came to have breakfast with us and again smiled at us falsely. When we sat down to eat bread, he, artificially and disgustingly, started talking about the connections and friendship he allegedly has with us. He tried to do some “spunto” to tax the terrain, but we also did some “counterpoint” and that ended the morning. We learned from our Chinese comrades today that Nikita Khrushchev, behind the scenes and in the presence of Liu Shao Chia, has attacked the leadership of our Party. How and why we will explain better later.

ONE, HRUSHOV’S UNFAIR AND ANTI-MARKIST ACTION
Nikita Khrushchev invited me to the meeting, but I did not go. In fact, we had decided that I should go to this meeting, as Nikita requested, even though I know he is trying to realize the tactic of disunity; however, our unity cannot be broken by this chief revisionist. But today the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union handed us a long letter that on November 5, 1960, addressed to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and distributed to all delegations participating in the Meeting of Communist and Working Parties of Moscow. Reading this letter, just as I was preparing to go to the meeting, I saw that in it our country was not among the socialist countries. I also saw that our Central Committee was attacked there, and accused of acting with anti-democratic methods against Liri Belishova and Koço Tashko, just because they are “friends” of the Soviet Union, and other slanders. Then I called Andropov and told him that I refused to go to a meeting with Nikita Khrushchev, why he, dishonestly, non-Marxist and slandering, without waiting to talk to me first, attacked our Party through an official international document, to discredit him in the eyes of the international communist movement. This action of Nikita Khrushchev means that he not only attacked us, but, in fact, created unequal conditions for talks.

FOR MORIS TOREZI DINNER
Yesterday we refused to meet with Khrushchev. Today, at 80 ° in the morning, Maurice Torezi called me directly. He invited me to spend dinner together and talk about the issues of the day. We accepted his invitation and went to the meeting. The conversation was opened by French friends. They insisted on knowing why we refused to meet the Soviets. We explained the reasons and told them how they acted openly and behind their backs against us. Of course, we did not get along and everyone stood by their own views. It was clear that they were with the Soviets. Nevertheless, we parted amicably. They escorted us to the gate. But after this meeting, their attitude is cold. Clearly, Torres was pushed by the Soviets to talk to us, so it is possible that our conversation was recorded.

THE MEETING OF 81 COMMUNIST AND WORKING PARTIES OF THE WORLD HAS BEGUN
The Moscow Meeting of the 81 Communist and Workers’ Parties of the World began in the Georgevsky Hall. We have been assigned a place near the tribune (apostafat), even next to the Koreans. There was a suffocating atmosphere in the hall and full of unexploded “storm”. The first to speak was Suslov, who delivered a report on behalf of the Commission that prepared the draft declaration. Mikoyan, Koz lovi, Suslov, Pospjelov and Andropov came to Zareçe today for a meeting. On our side were all. Terrible conversation. Khrushchev’s envoys came to deceive us and “persuade” us to give up our views and not raise them at the Meeting of 81 Communist and Workers’ Parties. They are not only aware of the disagreements that exist between our two parties, why they are the causes and their authors, but Moris Torezi also informed them about the position that we will hold in the meeting. It is this upright, decisive, unmasking attitude that terrifies them. All the maneuvers are being used by the Soviets in the contacts and meetings we have had so far with them. They do this only to bend us, but to no avail: at first, they attacked us, then pretended to soften, made tactical retreats, “recognized” a series of faults, tried to wash and paint us, even tried to make differentiations as well. But they always ate such fists from us that they had not even seen them in a dream. These meetings are proving well that the right is on our side and that we are dealing with revisionists, deceivers, hypocrites, swindlers, shameless people and traders of Marxism-Leninism. From the first meeting with us, they left empty-handed and full of “wounds” on their faces.

MIKOJANI IS LOOKING FOR A SECOND MEETING
The meeting continues, the backstage of the Soviets continues. Mikojan requested a second meeting with us. We gave it to him. He came to Zarecija together with Kozlov as delegates of the Presidium of the Central Committee and requested a new meeting for talks. We accepted. We will all come, as one body. We find that our embassy has been under surveillance by the Soviets with special equipment for 3 years, since it first entered the new building.

WE KEEP CONTINUOUS LINKS WITH FRIENDS AT HOMELAND
We maintain constant contact with friends in Tirana. We inform them of our affairs here. they keep us informed of the state of affairs in the homeland. Yesterday our friends informed us that everything is going well, except for the heavy rains that have fallen in recent days, especially in the coastal area, while in the Northern areas it is snowing. For this reason, planting continues intermittently. They also informed us that the holidays of November 7 and 8 went well. But at the solemn meeting, which is held every year in our country on the occasion of these holidays, Novikov, the charge d’affaires of the Soviet embassy, who greeted on behalf of the embassy, did not say a word about our Party. For this, those present in the hall, as this Khrushchev’s agent deserved, greeted him coldly and without any applause. When the speech was over, they burst into applause for our glorious Party. So Novikov and his masters took a cold shower. They deserved it.

STORMY MEETING WITH SOVIET LEADERS
Discussions continue at the 81-Party Meeting, and behind it, Soviet intrigues continue. The Soviets lit up with us. Yesterday they asked us for a new meeting, in the Kremlin, this time with the delegates of the Presidium of their Central Committee. We went to this meeting. At the meeting on the part of the Soviets were Khrushchev, Mikoyan, Kozlov, Andropov and Llaptjev. Khrushchev from the beginning tried to put us in the dock. But in this bank, we put it. He said that he did not withdraw anything from what he had said against us, he also put military pressure on us, threatening to remove the naval base from Vlora. But in this matter, we strongly attacked him and unmasked his intentions. Embarrassed, he made me a comparison that I was supposedly talking to him, as Macmillan had spoken. Comrades Mehmet and Hysni then asked Khrushchev to withdraw his vile offense, and when he said, “Where shall I put it?”, Comrade Mehmet said, “Put it in your pocket.” After that we all got to our feet, interrupted the conversations and left the hall. We left Khrushchev and his comrades as filthy and filthy as they are. Everything proves that Nikita Khrushchev is a dangerous revisionist. Therefore, we must be very vigilant, very vigilant towards him and his group!

IN THE COUNTRY, WORK IS GOOD
The announcements sent to us by our friends from Tirana change the suffocating atmosphere in which we are temporarily. Today they inform us that down in the district’s meetings of the Party plenums and popular councils are taking place to discuss the plan. There have been good discussions and proposals everywhere. As for the attitude of the Soviets, the comrades tell us that in Pashaliman they have let go of the belt that we trample on and thus give rise to incidents. We have taken all measures to be vigilant and caring. Our comrades also inform us that Soviet specialists, in various branches of our economy, have begun to misbehave. The Bulgarians are doing the same. What an ugly thing! They want to put pressure on us and prevent us from having our say. But in vain have the Soviet revisionists and their servants.

TAKE MEASURES TO RETURN HOMELAND
We informed our friends in Tirana that we can take the floor on Tuesday, November 16th. To the speech we added the latest information we learned here as well as the insults that Khrushchev said to the Chinese against us. Regarding our return to our homeland, we informed our friends that we would be leaving soon and that we were thinking of returning by sea. We ordered one of our boats to leave for Constanta, Romania.
