Memorie.al/On December 12, 2020 will be organized in China the Biennial of Contemporary Art entitled “The Power of Harmony” in Jinan, Shandong where the Italian-Albanian artist Alfred Mirashi-Milot is invited. Milot will present Italians at the Shandog Art Museum.
Milot’s works are those of a deeply passionate and quite ambitious artist. Driven by the need to communicate, he is always on the lookout paying particular attention in his work to building connections, exchanging experiences where the keys remain his passport of artistic identification.
Above all, the “key”, a theme so often repeated in Milot’s works is the emblem, the object of the possibility or not of opening, the instrument through which an expansion of communication between peoples can be carried out.
Of course, the “key” is not just a matter of our daily lives, it is not a matter of opening a real door, but a metaphor. The key is broken, symbolizing the collapse once and for all of those obstacles that make impossible a real and sincere connection between different people and cultures.
Milot is in the process of realizing in Italy the largest sculpture of all time, almost 50 meters high, in the city of Avellino.
He will soon present Italy at a prestigious international event such as the Contemporary Art Biennale in Jinan, Shandong, China. To promote international art communication, Jinan City has organized the first International Biennial, jointly supported by the Shandong Province Department of Culture and Tourism and the Jinan Municipal Government, to be held in Jinan. Shandong Province, from 12 December 2020 to 31 March 2021.
More than 100 contemporary artists invited from over 20 countries will take part, where their works will be exhibited at the Shandong Museum of Art in Jinan, which has an area of more than 30,000 square meters. The theme of the first International Biennale in Jinan is: The Power of Harmony. Confucianism, which began in Shandong, is a critical part of the extraordinary traditional culture of the Chinese nation. Among them, harmony is one of the essential concepts of Confucianism. Today, as a forcefully new cultural event, it will show richer connotations, and its cultural and spiritual attitude, attributes that are increasingly showing its deep practical importance and universal values. The message of the Biennale, Harmony contains three dimensions:
- Harmony between individuals
- Harmony between people and society
- Harmony between the human and natural world.
The Power of Harmony means gaining energy from the Confucian idea of Harmony and exploring in more contemporary and pluralistic ways of thinking, in order to gain motivation and promote mutual understanding between Chinese and Westerners, cultures that promote mutual learning. and integration between pluralism and civilization. The biennial has invited Fan Di’an, president of the China Artists Association and President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Zhang, president of the Shandong Artists Association and Director of the Shandong Art Museum, as its main curators.
The curatorial team consists of Won Seok Koh, – Curator Chief of the Seoul Art Museum, Korea; Tayfun Belgin, – Director of the Osthaus Hagen Museum, Germany; Hans de Wolf, – professor at Vrije University of Brussels, Belgium; Yu Yang, – professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China; Yang Wei, – Member of the board of the Curating Committee of the China Artists Association; Sun Lei, – Vice Dean of Shandong University of the Arts and independent curator Li Zhenhua.
The Italian-Albanian artist is already invited to take part in many international events and in this Biennale, he will be presented with two works in painting, one called “Mediterranean Corner” and the other “Oriental Corner” where “Milot Keys” always stand out.

A contemporary ’69 artist living and working in Florence, Italy. He graduated in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 1999, where he won a scholarship to the University of Art and Design in Loughborough, England.
In 2003 he exhibited at the Museo del Maschio Angioino in Naples with the personal exhibition “Le veneri di Milot” by Francesco Poli and Eduardo Cicely.
In 2010 he won the “Award of Excellence” in the review of the Naples Cultural Classic.
During the 2012 Olympics he won the gold medal in painting at the Barbican Center Museum in London.
In the same year he was invited to take part in the VI edition of the Beijing International Art Biennale at the Beijing National Museum.
In 2014, he participated in the “Open 14” collection, Venice Lido, an international sculpture and installation exhibition curated by Paolo De Grandis.
In 2015 he won first prize at the Water Cube Museum in Beijing.
In 2016 he received the Honorary Visiting Professor at Shandong University of Art and Design in China.
In 2016 he is the curator of the international sector of the 6th Photography Biennale in Jinan, Shandong, China.
In the same year, in Rome, he won the first prize of the exhibition “Excellencies of Contemporary Art” curated by Francesco Gallo Mazzeo.
In 2017, he is the curator of the personal exhibition of the international photographer Zeng Yi at the National Museum of Tirana. He exhibits in a double individual exhibition “Action and Thought Gigi and Milot” at the Royal Palace of Turin curated by Anselmo Villata.
Participates in the 10th edition of the “Dilution” Biennial of Paper Works in Turin.
