Historical documents / How November 28, 1944, was celebrated as the day of the liberation of Albania… (Unpublished photos)

Memorie.al publishes some photos of the communist period before the 1990s when May Day was celebrated in communist Albania, the ‘workers’ day ’which was recognized and commemorated as such from 1945 to 1990. Rare images that show us the working class and the cooperative peasantry that “passed happily” with banners and bouquets of flowers in their hands on the Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” in front of the tribune of the senior leadership of the ALP, where they took place: Enver, Mehmeti, Hysni Kapo, Haxhi Lleshi, Gogo Nushi, Rita Marko, Ramiz Alia, etc., from the Politburo and the Central Committee of the ALP, as well as imitations of “enemies of the people”, such as Mehdi Frashëri, Qazim Mullet, Vasil Andoni, etc. where the people who “interpret” them were wearing white panties and shirts and cheering the top leadership.
