-THE IRREVOCABLE EASE OF DESERVED IMPUNITY OF CRIMINALS!-
Memorie.al / How many times do wars and aggressions end, or totalitarian regimes, dictatorships and despotic powers collapse, be they left or right, I have always wondered if there was a fair legal punishment on those who ordered or carried out as material executioners, genocide, war crimes, massacres, murders, rapes, terror, torture and forced deportations, against humanity. Of course, there were such criminals everywhere during wars or dictatorships and it will take whole columns of books to present and prove with documents these crimes and the authors ordering or executing them!
More interesting for the Albanians would be the fate and the end of the criminals in the Albania of Dictator Hoxha, and in Kosovo ruled by the Tito-Rankovic clique, and then by the Milosevic-Vucic clique, then also that of the war criminals in Germany Hitler’s Nazis, Mussolini’s fascist Italy, or in the USSR, during the Bolshevik rule, mainly during 35 years, when they were led by Lenin and Stalin!
In Dictator Hoxha’s Albania, for over 40 years, where every state crime was committed with the knowledge and approval of the Commander (as Koçi Xoxe himself claimed in court, 1948-’49, and after him the ministers Kadri Hazbiu, Feçor Shehu, and others – 1983), there were only two punishments of criminals at the head of the State Security and these, only for a limited number of eyes!
Thus, several hierarchs of the time of Koç were sentenced, up to the infamous sadist Lieutenant Baba (Hodo Habibi), who in fact, mistakenly and mischievously, called him “the time of Koç”, since those crimes were actually from the time of Enver , up to the last group alive, of the Macbethian paranoiac, Enver Hoxha, who sentenced to death four of those he framed in the “big hostile group of the poly-agent Mehmet Shehu”, 27 years his Prime Minister… ?!
As a final incentive for this writing, for me, a book and a film were made at the same time, where each has its own role, in giving my opinion, on the (none)punishment of Nazi criminals with a stamp, by Goring, and Himmler, to the inhuman monster Dr. Mengele of Auchvic!
One autumn afternoon in Milan, where I had just been appointed Consul General of Albania (Head of our Diplomatic Mission), while walking in the wonderful Vittoro Emanuele II Gallery, together with the lady, my attention was drawn to the large glass windows of The famous Rizzoli bookstore, two book titles:
“Himmler il Burocrate dello Sterminio” and “Archivio Mitrokhin”!
After we got inside, we bought both books without hesitation, and from that day on, I rarely missed Rizzoli’s, where I also got the largest daily newspaper in Albanian, “Bota Sot”, by the Mazrekaj brothers. In Switzerland!
About the second book, I will write another time, as its main author was Vasily Mitrokhin, Director for 22 years of the Soviet KGB Archive, escaped to Britain with an infinite number of ‘Top Secret’ documents microfilmed by the self-directed archive…!
The author of the first book was the famous American historian and professor of HARVARD University (currently 75 years old), Richard David Breitman.
In the original English, the book was titled: “Architect of Genocide – Himmler and the Final Solution”
(The Architect of Genocide – Himmler and the Final Solution), but to me, I don’t know why, the title in Italian, “Himmler – IL Burocrate dello Sterminio” (“Himler – The Bureaucrat of Extermination”) seemed more striking!
This book, as shocking as it is amazing, presents with indisputable truth and with authentic documents, the originators of the Final Solution, the Holocaust, that is, the extermination of the Hebrew Nation, as well as the establishment, organization and operation of the perfectly gigantic machine of the State, the economy, of the army, of espionage in Hitler’s Third Reich of unique violence in Europe!
(It still remains difficult to understand how Hitler, who came to power on January 30, 1933, in a defeated and razed Germany, at the end of the First World War, but also after the world’s greatest economic and financial crisis, of the years 1929-1933, took Germany out in 1938, the first power in Europe and the second in the world after the USA, without even having colonies on half the planet, as Great Britain and France did?!) .
By creating such a system of information, tracking, espionage, discovery and investigation, the Nazi Fuehrer, Adolf Alois Hitler, maintained his state edifice and absolute personal power!
He was helped the most by the three highest figures of German National Socialism: Hermann Wilhelm Göring (12/01/1893-15/10/1946), Heinrich Luitpold Himmler, (07/10/1900-23/05/ 1945) and Paul Josef Goebbels, (29/10/1897 – 01/05/1945)!
They were personally involved, of course with Hitler’s approval, in the selection of the most loyal and fanatical leaders to head the Intelligence Services and Secret Political Police, such as GESTAPÓ, SS, ABWEHR, SD, RASH, SA, as well as with the Nazi propaganda, etc.!
Names, such as Admiral of Italian origin Wilhelm Franz Canaris, (01/01/1887-09/04/1945) Reinhardt Tristan Eugene Heydrich, (07/03/1904-4/06/1942 ), Walter Friedrich Schellenberg, 16/01 /1910-31/03/1952, Ernst Kaltenbrunner (Austrian), 04/10/1903-16/10/1946) Heinrich Müller 28/05/1900-01/05/1945) Otto Adolf Eichman (19/03/1906 -01/06/1962)
Josef Rudolf Mengele (16/03/1911-07/02/1979) etc., etc., even today, days have remained a symbol of the animalistic deformation and denaturation of the human mind, which with a shuddering coldness, even accepted with complete conviction, that: the killing of one person can be called a crime, while the killing of millions of people is simple and just a statistic?!
The Nazi Holocaust took the lives of over 6 million Jews, thus being a super genocide and not a statistic!
As Albanians, at least we remained unique, due to the fact that we did not denounce any Jewish family to the Germans in all Albanian lands and that we were the only country where their number at the end of the war was greater than at the beginning hers !…
GESTAPO – Geheime Staatspolizei (Secret State Political Police).
SS – Schutzstaffel – Paramilitary force of the National – Socialist Party SD Sicherheitsdienst. RSHA -Reichssicherheitshauptamt. ABWEHR – Defense – The Army’s Secret Intelligence Service.
SA – Sturmabteilung. These were the main Nazi Intelligence Services. With the exception of Reinhardt Tristan Eugene Heidrich, who died a full 80 years ago, after an assassination attempt in Prague by anti-Nazi youth and patriots, while he was seriously wounded, when he was not only the Head of the SD, but also the Governor of Czechoslovakia, as Deputy Fuehrer there!
That there were punishments of Nazi war criminals, this is known, but were they in fair proportion to the heinous crimes they ordered and carried out against humanity in the years 1939 – 1945, that is, throughout World War II?! With a full mouth it can be said: NO! The great Nuremberg Trial really took place, for about 200 Nazi criminals, which lasted a whole 1 year (October 1945 – October ’46), at the end of which, 24 of them were severely sentenced to death (hanging on a rope) , 11 such, the others with long imprisonment, while in all the military courts, about 1600 eyes were passed and sentenced…, but this was very little!
The Führer, Adolf Alois Hitler, saw no hope of escape by escape, convinced of his end, (the Red Army was only a few hundred meters from his Superbunker), on the afternoon of April 30, 1945, after celebrating his marriage with Ewa Braun, tested the effect of cyanide on his dog “Blondi”, (who tasted the “cake” for the last time and died after a few seconds), did the same for himself and Ewa! He had ordered his personal bodyguard, starting after his death, to shoot him in the head with the ‘Walter’, which he never removed from his belt, to create the impression of suicide with a revolver, after which their bodies were burning, a task that the bodyguard and the driver of his super-armored ‘Mercedes-Benz’ (770 W 150 II with three differentials), in a hurry, did not perform well and the partially charred bodies were found by the team special of the Soviet Colonel Lev Bezimenski under the reinforced concrete ruins of the super-bunker, that the other Jewish-Soviet colonel, criminal expert, Dr. Faust Ckarawiski easily identified them as Hitler (and not Adam of the Bible with his Eve)!
Age, height, comparison of gold dental bridges with Hitler’s dental record (found in his personal dentist’s office), as well as his birth defect-Monorchism, (missing one of the testicles, so he never had children) , undoubtedly proved that the corpse was the Fuhrer himself! Stalin strictly ordered the preservation of the secret and the spread of legends that Hitler, and with him Nazism, is alive?! The real version was given (allegedly as fictional) in the film “The Fall of Berlin”. Whereas, only 10 years after Stalin’s death, in 1963, Khrushchev allowed the publication of Bezimenski’s book, “Finally, the truth about Hitler’s death” with authentic documents and photos of those we described above! Hitler was subjected to a large number of assassination attempts, but surprisingly, he survived all of them?!
Among the strangest was that of Colonel Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, on July 20, 1944, at 12:42, at the Rastenburg Conference, in the Wolfsschanzen Hall, where the dynamite placed under the table exploded, but its thick seasoned wooden leg nut, saved the Führer with only one wound?! The assassination was the finalization of Operation “Valkyrie”, an unsuccessful coup by soldiers dissatisfied with the losses and the wrong strategy and policy of their Führer, among whom the suspect there was also Admiral Kanaris, arrested by the one who replaced him at the head of ABWEHR, Walter Schellenberg.
Brutally tortured, he died hanging with a pianoforte string. About 5,000 conspirators were arrested, 200 of whom, with Stauffenberg as the first, passed into the hands of the executioners and the firing squad! Goring, aviation hero, founder and commander of the Luftwaffe, rose to the highest rank of the Wehrmacht, Feldmareshal, and Hitler himself had designated him as the first man to replace him (the second was Rudolf Walter Richard Hess)!
Goring was a voracious glutton, obese up to 140 kg, obsessed with hunting, even considered Germany’s head hunter, a vice that Hitler never liked, and a pathological collector of works of art, looted by the Nazis in occupied countries of them, like France, Holland and Italy! After giving the decision on the death penalty, he begged the Nuremberg Court to return his hanging on the rope, to the firing squad, but the request was categorically rejected! So, a few hours before he was hanged, he swallowed the ampoule of potassium cyanide, brought by his guard, the American lieutenant Jack Wheelis, compromised early on by Goring, who had given him a lot of valuables, including a personalized gold watch with diamonds! And yet, his dead body was exposed to the witnesses of the hanging of 10 war criminals, together with them, thus becoming the 11th dead criminal in Nuremberg! The executioner who hanged them was US Sergeant John C. Woods!
Hess on May 10, 1941, had flown with a Messershmitt 110 BF to Scotland, where he was forced to land after a malfunction, by order or approval of Hitler, for the British, but they considered him with neuropsychic problems, as a result of unbelievable, so they arrested him, and four years later, in 1945, he was sent to the Nuremberg Trials, where he was sentenced to life imprisonment, until, under mysterious circumstances, he hanged himself in Spandau prison, in West Berlin, on 08/17 /1987, 93 years old, on the verge of release, with the agreement of the Soviets, and Gorbachev personally?! Himmler had met the same fate before. Surrendered to the Allies, this one, unlike Goring, had carefully hidden the ampoule of cyanide in his boots and swallowed it on May 23, 1945! Attempts to force him to swallow the poison failed!
Goebbels, one of the greatest brainwashers of propaganda that history has known together with Stalin’s Zhdanov, ended his life in the Super bunker of the Reich Chancellery, a few hours after Hitler, that is, on May 1, 1945, killing his faithful Magda with a revolver , who had forgiven his long relationship with the Czech artist Lida Baarová, and then himself! Unbelievable, ridiculous, but true, before committing suicide, the Goebbels couple poisoned their six children with cyanide?!
Karl Donitz, Chief Admiral, (1891 – 1980), President of the Reich for 23 days, among the last, who met Hitler in his Super bunker in April 1945 was simultaneously War Strategist with quality German submarines! He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Nuremberg and in 1958; he published the book “Ten years and twenty days”.
Martin Ludwig Bormann (1900 – 1945), Head of the Chancellery of the Nazi Party and Hitler’s personal secretary, one of the Fuehrer’s most trusted and influential people! His death, like no other of the Nazi hierarchs, until recently has been shrouded in mystery and endless conspiracy theories, on the escape to Spain, and then, to some of the Latin American countries, where right-wing juntas ruled, until and the probability that he was a spy for Stalin, whose deliberately wrong advice to Hitler, led the army of the Third Reich to defeat several times!
Bormann’s remains were later found and the DNA of one of his 10 children (the young Martin Bormann) proved to be over 99.69% identical to that of the father, Martin Ludwig Bormann! Even for General Heinrich Müller, the Chief of GESTAPÓ, as well as for Borman, there have been several versions, one of which is that he (Muller) was used by the Soviets to obtain any information and brought to Albania in the 50s, using it, like Kim Philbin, to capture the envoys, from the Anglo-Americans, of those anti-communists, who aimed to overthrow the regime of Enver Hoxha, known as saboteurs!
In Nuremberg, they were executed by hanging:
- Ulrich Friedrich Wilhelm Joachim von Ribbentrop, Foreign Minister.
- Wilhelm Bodewin Johann Gustav Keitel – General.
- Ernst Kaltenbrunner – General
- Alfred Ernst Rosenberg Ideologist of the Nazi Party.
- Karl Hermann – General, Politician, Minister.
- Frank Wilhelm Frick – Politician, General, and Hitler’s first Minister of the Interior, since 1933.
- Julius Stretcher – Nazi politician, publisher of “Der Strummer”, rabidly anti-Semitic newspaper.
- Ernst Fiedrich Christoph “Fritz” Sauckel, Politician, Minister Plenipotentiary of Labour.
- Alfred Jodl, – General, who had signed the unconditional capitulation of Nazi Germany!
- Arthur Seyss-Inquart – Chancellor of Austria, Nazi Commissioner for the Netherlands, Foreign Minister.
The Prosecutor of this Court was: Robert Houghout Jackson, while the President of the Court: Geoffrey Lawrence, and Iona Timofeyevich Nikitchenko, the one who had sentenced to death Kamenev and Zinoviev, one of the most terrible prosecutors of the Stalinist purge in the USSR!
The search, capture and kidnapping, or extradition of such beasts, with a human face, I do not know why it was stopped by the Israeli MOSSAD, or the CIA, the Intelligence Service, the BND, with Otto Adolf Eichman, and some others, not so much important, who, after being caught hiding under the false name Ricardo Clement, was brought to Israel from Argentina, tried, sentenced to death and hanged in Ayalon Prison in Rammallah on June 1, 1962! Here we cannot fail to mention Simon Wiesenthal, 1908 – 2005, the surviving Jewish-Austrian of Mat’hausen, Eng. and writer, who dedicated his life to finding and capturing Nazi criminals like Eichman, his assistant Bryner (died in Assad’s Syria),
To the commander of the Treblinka camp, the killer of Anna Frank, and some others! On the other hand, it was never understood, how they did not manage to find, capture and bring him to Israel, or to Germany, the Doctor of Death, Josef Rudolf Mengele, the model man, who perfected crime as a science?! Icy, unscrupulous, cold-blooded and hating mercy, he will remain unique, not simply for the number of killed (most of them at his hands), but for how and how “scientifically” he led his victims to that world, including hundreds of children, especially when they were monozygotic twins, to whom, in their living bodies, without any narcosis, he experimented what the diabolical mind was told by the ignorant anthropologist and eugenol gist, who would have envied the Marquis de Sad and Dracula himself!
With two university degrees in Munich and Frankfurt, he set about with an iron will, boundless ambition, without stopping before any crime, the confirmation in super inhumane and mega criminal practice of the racist-Nazi theory on the superiority of the Aryan race?! !! Therefore, even with unprecedented zeal, he started work in the horrible Nazi extermination camp at Auschwitz! However strong one’s pen may be, one can never fully describe his inhuman torturous experiments on the wretches who passed through the hands of the “Angel of Death,” or “White Angel,” as he was nicknamed. ! Injecting phenol into the veins to measure how many seconds the next unfortunate “patient” would die, up to heterochromia (taking out the eyes of those prisoners, who had one eye blue and the other colored chestnut), to study them in the laboratories of Berlin!…(it should not be forgotten that even the shot of the Qafë-Bari Revolt, Tom Ndoja and Sokol Sokol (had their eyes gouged out for scientific “studies”, with order of Hekuran Isai, member of the Political Bureau and Minister of the Interior of the Enverian communist regime)?!
Eugenics gave Aktion T 4, plus assisted euthanasia, was normal for Mengele’s “scientific studies”, which would “prove” to Hitler and the Germans, the superiority of the Aryan race over others?!!!

His horrors and monstrous crimes were presented by Hollywood in two wonderful films in terms of production and interpretation, by great directors and actors:
1976: “IL Maratoneta” (The Marathon Man) John Schlesinger, director, Dustin Hofmann and Laurence Olivier actors and 1978 “I ragazzi venuti Del Brasile” (The Boys from Brazil) Director Franklin J. Schaffner with actors Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier again!
Humanity, naturally and rightly, expected severe punishments and punishments for war criminals, but unfortunately this did not happen!
The responsibility was first of the Anglo-Franco-American allies, who had every opportunity to do it, as well as Chancellor Konrad Adenauer’s Germany itself!
Unbelievable, but true, even though it is a grave insult to the millions of victims of Nazism, in the America of democracy, just a few days ago, one of the gold watches with 12 red rubies from the collection of Hitler and personalized with the initials A H of the ‘HUBER’ brand that was bought for $1.1 million ?!
At the top of this article, a wonderful German film is mentioned, whose main protagonist, a young prosecutor, dedicated to justice and idealism, set himself very diligently on the task of discovering hierarchs and leaders of the Nazi party or military, so that how without feeling, they were stabilized and rehabilitated after the war, in comfortable jobs, administration, public functions, even in the new Justice?!
Everywhere he found obstacles from those “higher up”, who advised him not to deal with this story, which the bosses already considered closed and counter-productive! He persisted, but unfortunately discovered that his father and father-in-law had also been part of the Nazi Party, just like most Germans, whose brains, although a vital disciplined and virtuous nation, had been washed away by Hitler’s doctrine – Gebelsian supremacy of the “pure” Aryan race! He resigns in a moment of despair, but in the end, advised and helped by his superior as positive as he is, he returns to his duties as a prosecutor, with the motto: the fight for justice must continue!
And here, to close this article, which will be followed by other articles on the same topic, I want to pose the question: How can Albanians understand 50 years of being killed, tortured, imprisoned, interned and persecuted by the communist dictatorship the most anti-American and anti-Western of Enver Hoxha and his caricature, but bloodthirsty regime, that the entire high nomenclature of the Party and the State, from the Politburo, the Central Committee of the PPSh, to the heads of the repressive bodies of violence state, (Ministry of the Interior, State Security, Prosecution, Investigation, etc.), convicted by the new justice after 1992, under the Presidency of Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha (even the three most typical ones, Aranit Çela, Rrapi Mino and Zylyftar Ramizi even with death, a decision that the Council of Europe did not allow to be executed?!), found political refuge, precisely in the West, those who fled in ’92- sin from the fear of punishment for the terrible crimes, even in violation of the laws of the Criminal Code of the Dictatorship, as well as those who took them out of prison, ’97, excluding Nexhmije Hoxha and Ramiz Ali, who preferred to make “the writer ” of lies, claiming, until they died eternally damned, that they testified to history?!
It is said that only the grave can turn the hump to Ramiz Ali, Nexhmije Hoxha and others of their criminal and anti-national type, I believe that even the grave will not turn the hump! O Tempora, O mores, says the Latins! Memori.al
