Memorie.al publishes a voluminous archival file issued by the institution of the Authority for Information of Former State Security Files, where there are hundreds of documents with the logo “Top secret” belonging to the former political prisoner, Xhavit Qesja, originally from the city of Kruja, whose family during the period of occupation of the country, 1939-1944, was closely associated with the Anti-Fascist Movement, being one of its main bases and made available all the wealth it had, as Xhavit was one of the first members of the Albanian Communist Party for the Kruja district, leading the Kruja-Ishëm partisan battalion and the 22nd Assault Brigade. Xhavit Qese’s political career after the end of the War, where he was appointed and served in senior positions in the Albanian Army, the apparatus of the Central Committee of the ALP, and several districts of the country, from where he was sent to study in the Soviet Union, where stayed until 1957, when he was announced to return to Albania urgently, after openly expressing his views in favor of the political line being pursued by the main Kremlin leader, Nikita Khrushchev, condemning the Stalin cult. Enver Hoxha’s conversation with Xhavit Qesen in his office in the Central Committee, where he sharply criticized him for the wrong views he had expressed during his studies in Moscow, urging him to reflect and make self-criticism, but Xhavit rejected the suggestion of the first secretary of the Albanian Labor Party, which caused him to no longer be allowed to go to the Soviet Union to complete his studies, but to be sent to work as deputy chairman of the Elbasan Executive Committee, from where a year later, he was expelled from the Party and exiled to Zvërnec Island, where the communist regime kept isolated some of the former senior party and state cadres whom he had condemned for their anti-party views. Xhavit Qesva’s long ordeal and persecution from 1957 to 1990, where he spent a full 32 years in prison and internment, being one of the few convicts in Burrell Prison who went on long hunger strikes in protest of the treatment and savage attitude of the communist regime of Enver Hoxha towards him. The complete form, investigative and judicial file in charge of Xhavit Qeses, which is published for the first time by Memorie.al, which contains the documents of the former State Security that reflect the prosecution and wiretapping against him, the reports of Security collaborators with pseudonyms their correspondence with the letters he sent to the highest party and state instances, as well as the highest leaders of the ALP, until 1991 when he was released from prison!

Silence and waiting
- On the international position of our country
As it is known, both for the international position and for the internal situation, (for the main events), at least in the relations with that part they have kept and hold a self-critical attitude, they are silent. Silent, but not uninterested. And this silence of theirs is significant. Here we are talking about Maqon, Gjergji, Todi, Fadil and Xhavit, not counting Gjin Marku, who releases hour by hour, slogans for the unceasing struggle against imperialism, and these are growing.
Expect a change of state. Where do they base their dream and hope?
Except for Maqo Çomo’s closest friends, the expressions “I took it, how long will they live”?! “Unexpected things happen in politics, changes that no one expects”? etc. Specifically recently, especially after the events in Kosovo, these seem to have come to life. The rapprochement and improvement of Serbian-Russian relations, the joint anti-Albanian conspiracy, has encouraged them. They judge the development of events in their interest, in the weakening of Albania’s international position.
It is known that Vaskë Gjinua, in addition to his convictions, no matter how restrained, in a case asked by him, on the recent events explicitly said: “The situation for them is very difficult. They are opposed to the whole world! How they do the calculations, who understands them. Because they are removed against imperialism and the West. But it is not difficult to understand that they rest their head on a pillow. And this is not what they say “With our forces”. It’s Paris or this one or someone else, time will tell. Which of the neighbors do they get along with?!
The Greek forgets North Epirus, Italy has its claims. For Greece, they say they have it well, but this is only temporary. With the Yugoslavs, they have gotten worse and are being held in pieces. They were angered and frightened by the Soviet-Yugoslav rapprochement. Even before Tito died, but especially after his death, the Soviets put their elbows on the Americans. Yugoslavia today, tomorrow, will openly join the Soviet Union and the ‘Warsaw Pact’. In a threatening situation they will take the side of the Soviets.
Guarantees for this are the Army, UDB, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc. Even in the economy, as they say, the Soviets have key positions. The passage of the Soviets to this side is a deadly death for NATO. It is not as they say: “that the strategic importance of Yugoslavia fell”, no, it is what was, is growing stronger, the strategic position of the Soviet Union and the “Warsaw Pact”. The Yugoslavs understand and appreciate this correctly. We criticize and harass them. “We also hurt the country.”
As it was said, Vaskë Gjino is reserved. But he clearly does not speak.
Internal condition
Not a word about the draft directives. As I will present separately, directly and indirectly, Maqo Çomo especially want to know about the entrances and exits (movements) in prison. And through them they want to know who was convicted and how much, etc.

Announces that:
- Friendly strengthening and concerns in the group: Maqo, Bardhyl, Gjergji, Gjin, Todi, Fadil, Xhavit and Vaskë Gjino.
Recently, especially during the months of July and August, the following performances are noticeably noticed:
In the first place, Todi’s rapprochement with Fadil and Gjergj continues to be further strengthened. This trio strengthens the friendship and is reflected in their performances and as adventurous types. Even in conversation with each other and with others, then through their tellall Gjergji, they use a language, worse than the thugs. They have it as a common thing when they talk to each other, but also when they talk to someone or when they take the guards by the mouth.
On the other hand, the friendship between Xhavit, Gjergji and Fadil has been used even more. Gjergji, who refused to say a word to anyone, and who puts no one on top of him, has become a filthy servant to Xhavit, performing every service and a young man with a leg up. In the same way, ka. Has started to stand against Xhavit, with certain servility.
With Fadil, that Xhavit said that I do not want to have any kind of relationship, not even giving him the newspaper to read, now that they are alone in the room, they spend almost all the time talking. Recently, Xhavit also gives bread to Fadil. Interesting is the fact that both of these groups, talk secretly to each other, in a low voice and are careful not to listen to each other. Even with Maqo and Bardhyl, Xhavit continues to improve relations.
He started talking to Bardhyl, more. Maqo, on the other hand, has expressed concern that Vaska does not agree with Gjini, isolate him and does not speak to him, many people, and that they do not like Gjergji’s behavior, especially for what Maqon mocks him, and that more mocks and provokes Gjini. There is not a day that Maqua does not catch Gjergji, especially Vaska, in the yard and talk to him to agree with Gjini. But as Vaska can be seen, Maqos is not obeying in this matter.
Todi and Fadil, who went to room one several times a day, and talked secretly with Maqo, Bardhyl and Gjergj, are now as worried and only secretly enter and one eavesdrops on the guard, from outside in the corridor, to alert the others. There are cases that Maqo and Bardhyl also show concern in this regard. Maqo and Gjergji also benefit from the fact that their room is close to the entrance door of the guard place, where they listen to every conversation made by the guards and on the phone.
But Maqua, with his fox, also gets some information from Agron, especially about the movements, as was the case recently, and as if with devilishness, he also brings it out to Agron. All these, especially Maqua with Gjergj and Todi, show a great concern, to know everything.
Another concern has been from Gjini. He took Agron and the source and told them, about Azbina, that he is a scoundrel and has done a lot of slander against me and how he knows these for sure.

The source reports that on August 19, 1981, Kiço told him that: “As you saw me on the air today, I had a conversation with Xhavit Qesen. I told Kiçua, I told him: “Why do you Xhavit, keep this cold attitude with me, while we have known each other for a long time, we have been friends, I also know your family, mother and I have respect for you. Has no one spoken to you about me, behind your back because I was impressed by your attitude”?!
And Xhaviti answered me: “I do not deal with gossip, because as I told you, I do not want to associate with anyone, I want to be isolated and the association that I have now started to have with Gjergji, I have why he wants to learn french but i want to always be isolated. I told you and once Xhavit goes on to say:
I did not become a communist by reading the book “Mother”, but by reading Marx’s capital, since I was a student in the gymnasium, that I told him what I have, the main leaders of the Party, that I am ideologically, politically and from the cultural point of view, that Aga told me Sul Baholli and now here Rrahman Përllaku, but he is not a proletarian himself, and I deny that I was an Aga, that I did not do any trial, as in the sentence of first and second ”.
