Memorie.al publishes some photos with rare images that reflect the funeral of Ceno beg Kryeziu from the well-known family of Kryezij of Gjakova who was married to one of the sisters of Ahmet Zogu, with whom I could have a son, let’s do Tati. Ceno beg was one of the people who supported the return of Ahmet Zogu to power in December 1924 and to the government formed in January 1925, Prime Minister Ahmet Zogu, and I gave him the post of Minister of Interior. During the time that Ceno Begu was in that post, the assassination of Bajram Curri and Luigj Gurakuqi took place, which did not go unnoticed in Albanian politics, for its opposition to accuse Prime Minister Ahmet Zogu, saying that he wanted Ceno started for the elimination of two well-known politicians.

After some time, Prime Minister Ahmet Zogu broke off relations with Ceno started and after dismissing him from the post of Minister of Interior, he appointed him Plenipotentiary Minister of Albania in Belgrade. The relations between Zogu and his brother-in-law became even colder, because Ceno beg, is said to have started pursuing a pro-Yugoslav policy to the detriment of the interests of Albania and Zogu himself. After that, Zogu appointed Ceno started as Plenipotentiary Minister in the Czech Republic, where after a few days, he was killed by an Albanian student, named Alqiviadh Bebi from Elbasan.

His assassination took place on October 14, 1927 at ten o’clock at night, while Ceno beg was entering his favorite cafe “Passage”, located in the square “Vaclavski Namesit”, the Albanian student Alqiviadh Bebi, who had entered forward there and was drinking alone at the table, shot him several times with a pistol in the body and head, leaving him dead on the spot. After the murder, the student from Elbasan did not leave and the staff of the bar caught him and handed him over to the police. That murder at that time caused a great commotion and was published by many European newspapers, which gave various versions of her motives, where there were also accusations against Zogu, who according to them, had paid the Albanian student to killed his brother-in-law.

Likewise, the press of the time accused the National Revolutionary Committee (KONARE) of the assassination of Ceno Beg and sometimes of the anti-Zogist Albanian emigrants living in Yugoslavia. From some testimonies of the time, it is said that the Albanian Prime Minister Ahmet Zogu, experienced the news of the murder of Ceno begu seriously and had a nervous attack when he learned of the death of his sister’s husband. He cried for days in front of the high personalities of the Albanian state of that time who went to comfort him as well as in front of the brothers of Ceno beg, but the truth never came to light! First, that at first Alqiviadh Bebi claimed that he had killed him himself, simply for patriotic motives and without anyone’s order, and second, because he was killed by Ceno beg’s brothers themselves in the courtroom, through Zija Vucitern.
