Memorie.al publishes a voluminous archival file issued by the institution of the Authority for Information of Former State Security Files, where there are hundreds of documents with the logo “Top secret” belonging to the former political prisoner, Xhavit Qesja, originally from the city of Kruja, whose family during the period of occupation of the country, 1939-1944, was closely associated with the Anti-Fascist Movement, being one of its main bases and made available all the wealth it had, as Xhavit was one of the first members of the Albanian Communist Party for the Kruja district, leading the Kruja-Ishëm partisan battalion and the 22nd Assault Brigade. Xhavit Qese’s political career after the end of the War, where he was appointed and served in senior positions in the Albanian Army, the apparatus of the Central Committee of the ALP, and several districts of the country, from where he was sent to study in the Soviet Union, where stayed until 1957, when he was announced to return to Albania urgently, after openly expressing his views in favor of the political line followed by the main Kremlin leader, Nikita Khrushchev, condemning the Stalin cult. Enver Hoxha’s conversation with Xhavit Qesen in his office in the Central Committee, where he sharply criticized him for the wrong views he had shown during his studies in Moscow, urging him to reflect and make self-criticism, but Xhavit rejected the suggestion of the first secretary of the Albanian Labor Party, which caused him to no longer be allowed to go to the Soviet Union to complete his studies, but to be sent to work as deputy chairman of the Elbasan Executive Committee, from where a year later, he was expelled from the Party and exiled to Zvërnec Island, where the communist regime kept isolated some of the former senior party and state cadres whom he had condemned for their anti-party views. Xhavit Qes’ long ordeal and persecution from 1957 to 1990, where he spent a full 32 years in prison and internment, being one of the few Burrel prison convicts to go on long hunger strikes in protest of the treatment and savage attitude of the communist regime of Enver Hoxha towards him. The complete form, investigative and judicial file in charge of Xhavit Qeses, which is published for the first time by Memorie.al, which contains the documents of the former State Security that reflect the prosecution and wiretapping against him, the reports of Security collaborators with pseudonyms their correspondence with the letters he sent to the highest party and state instances, as well as the highest leaders of the ALP, until 1991 when he was released from prison!

Vlora on 12 / X / 1958
R A P O R T:
From 29/9/1958 until 12 / X / 1958, the following issues were discussed by the following persons:
Nuri Huta: He said that he does not agree that the most technical school for teachers has been opened in Shkodra, but you should open it in Elbasan, because in Elbasan it is the purest language.
Peço Fidhi, before being summoned to Vlora, said better in prison than on the Island, i.e., that he did not agree and did not justify the isolated internment. He talks a lot about immorality in women in the Soviet Union; he says there is a lot of immorality in the Soviet Union. Peçoja told Gjovalin Luka, when they called Pëllumb Dishnica in Vlora, that they would also call him Peço, also Peçoja told him that in Fier they arrested a person who had a library of his own, whom they took books, the name of the person arrested, Gjovalini does not know. Peçoja also told Gjovalin that since we were called by the general in Vlora, General Peço told us to tell us about Pëllumb Dishnica, after you stayed with Pëllumb and knew about him and Peço replied that he did not know anything.
When Peço Fidhi returned from Vlora, he told Gjovalin Luka that he was asked about the Tirana Conference, I told this in front of everyone, when Gjovalini asked him if minutes were kept, Peçi replied that he should not ask me about this.
Pëllumb Dishnica, from the time he was called to Vlora until the time when Peçoja came from Vlora, appears very scary, especially since when Peçoja was called, he lives in fear of being arrested. He told Rasim Tahiri why they called me and brought me back to the Island, without a job even today. The pigeon lives in fear.
Peço Fidhi said that you should have no doubt that Peço’s call to Vlora is for the Tirana Conference and everyone has answered that this is a job for Peço.
Xhavit Qesja does not speak at all, but stays and listens.
Xhafer Vokshi does not say a word, but says that I do not need politics, but I want to see the plight of the family. His wife did not say anything, but she cried because she works 18 hours a day. Said that Frano Jakova, is where he was.
Marije Luka, said: I am afraid that they will be shot, if the situation changes, in this case Rasim Tshiri, Pëllumb Dishnica, Xhafer Vokshi were present. When Maria said this word, Xhaferi said: it is not so. Gjovalini is very afraid of being arrested, after the day that Sh. Raqi Zavalani with the Doctor, said Gjovalini and he told us that they came to arrest Gjovalini, but he was ill and they did not take him.
Gjovalini, talking about agricultural and livestock issues, said that livestock does not move forward, as there are no meadows to graze, therefore the decision of the Central Committee to increase livestock, is not made only by artificial exchange, but to allow pastures for grazing.
When Pëllumb Dishnica was called in Vlora, Peço Fidhi told Gjovalin Luka, expect that they will call me too, i.e. Peço that day was waiting to be called and he was afraid that, Peço and Pëllumbi, that they would be called for that person who had a library at home and who was arrested two months ago in Fier, after they received books like Peço, as well as Pëllumbi. Gjovalini told me this, but they do not know his name.
Until Raqi, Pëllumbi, Peço arrived, he was not calm at all, but when Pëllumbi came, Peço went in front of the moth and asked him, but I do not know what Pëllumbi told him, after we were away, and Pëllumbi told us , that they did not ask me at all, but I stayed in the room of the guard officer all day, from all this it was not believed that he was not asked, but the words that Pellumbi said were a lie, after he was asked but did not want to tell. When Peço Fidhi was called, Pllumbi was more afraid and he told Gjovalin, I am not very afraid, since I know Peço and he has character, that is, what Pëllumbi and Peço talked about, he does not tell Peço. This is what Gjovalini told Rasim.
Gjovalini told Rasim that Peço would have been called for the Tirana Conference and to ask him about us, until Peço arrived, these words were said, especially by Gjovalini, that they asked him about Pëllumbi for the Tirana Conference and about us, while others have said nothing.
When Peço came, he told us in front of everyone that they had asked him about the Tirana Conference and that they could call you too. Later, Gjovalini asked him if they should do a trial, Peço replied that he should not talk to me about this job or any other, that is, that they also talked to Gjovalini, since they have been together in a room for two months. .
Peço told Gjovalin that I did not take anyone by the neck and that in the room where Peço was staying in the Vlora Branch, there was also a table. These words, Gjovalini, after telling Peço, were told by Xhaferr Vokshi and Rasim Tahiri, to whom Gjovalini said, that someone would have taken Peço by the neck. Peço also talked to Xhafer Vokshi and told him what I wanted as a young man and to associate with Yugoslavs, who were in Fier, such as with Nikon who has been a professor at the Technical University of Fier, etc.
Xhaferi also told him that Peçi, Xhaferi, and others are not the same as those who were convicted with Koçi Xoxa and Xhaferri told me this and concluded that Peço was asked about Pëllumb Dishnica. Everyone has a suspicion that Peço has told about both the Tirana Conference and Pëllumbi.
Peço on Wednesday felt a little with Pëllumbi, also a couple of times and now they do not stay as before. But I doubt that if Peço was asked about Pëllumbi, Peço told him, because Pëllumbi is not calm at all, they stay alone and he is very upset. Rasim said to Pellumbi, why do they stay like this: Pellumbi said to him: I am sick. Ever since they called Pëllumbi and after Peço’s call, Pëllumbi has been very upset.
The slogans when Peço was taken were said by all that many held him. Nuri Huta said that: they took him to Tirana, there was no other slogan, after all that day they lived in fear of being called.
Since he came, Peço told us that, they told the two N / Colonels, that the woman will come on Saturday, the two N / Colonels are the ones who asked him, I will tell their names to Rasim, but I did not I remember.
To be printed in 6 copies, one of which is given to Colonel Jonuz Mersin, to see and one copy to be placed in the files of each.

Information report of the State Security collaborator with the nickname “Observer”, regarding the conversations made by the internees on the Island of Zvërnec
15 / X / 1958
R A P O R T
It is difficult to give a first opinion on the persons who are here, as they by all means avoid talking about the actions taken or do not express the views they have on a given issue when the conversation opens. Only thanks to sporadic phrases, ironies and stings can you form a cursory judgment. Therefore, it is better not to give these cases, as they have appeared:
From the first day we came to Zvërnec, Pëllumb Dishnica, Peço Fidhi and Gjovalin Luka, were locked in a room and after talking for about an hour, when they came out, Gjovalini told us: “Listen more friends, here we do not know why they brought us, to let’s not have political talks, let’s stay in our trouble, everyone. The next morning, Gjovalini said: I will sleep and live separately. That same evening, when Peço Fidhi began to tell how he had met an aviator expelled from the Party in Fier, Pellumbi, said: I do not need these conversations, while Gjovalini added: “Not to mention names “After a lot, we got over ourselves”. Pëllumbi, from the first days I started to tell about the island of Ventotene in Italy, where he was interned, and emphasizing different types of provocateurs and finally added that: it is logical that in every place of internment there are informants.
Xhaferr Vokshi, told a case that happened after the war in Kosovo, where when someone spoke wrong in meetings with the villagers, another did it out loud: “Obobo dhëmballa”. This slogan became a habit for a few days and here in Zvërnec, so as soon as someone started talking about political or theoretical issues, they waited for the conversation, saying: “O bobo dhëmballa”. The first two or three weeks, Peço Fidhi remained saying: “Wait when someone is taken now in Vlora”! While Rasimi said: “How do we know, how we shared the technical tests in Vlora with General Llaqi”!
Meanwhile, Pëllumb Dishnica and Gjovalin Luka walked together talking or in the room and in the other group, Rasim Tahiri, Xhaferr Vokshi. Xhavit Qesja has always stood aside.
Every time Captain Mersin, the commander, entered the forest alone, we would roll our eyes, lest any of us should break away to meet him. One day, Xhavit Qesja, not knowing that the captain was in the forest, went for a walk, then immediately put you behind him.
They have turned four eyes, living under the psychosis of proceeding. Gjovalini and Peçua have said that they can keep us here to bring us to court at the opportune moment. Peço Fidhi has often asked why they do not imprison me, do they not have enough facts, nor do they want to wait for the right opportunity. Pëllumb Dishnica said to him one day: “Pray that you will be imprisoned”. Peçoja has often asked me, how is it in prison, where it is better, in Zvërnec, or in Artizanat, etc., about imprisonment.
One day Pëllumb Dishnica told me: “This reception is terrible, because we do not know what will happen to you”. In fact, the most timid people are Pëllumb Dishnica and Gjovalin Luka; they seem to be waiting for the arrest, today and tomorrow. One day, Xhaferr Vokshi, answering Peço’s question, why am I not imprisoned and where is it better, here in exile, or in prison, said: No, I do not raise the issue like that, because I have not hidden anything from him Security, so I did so, so I was interned and not imprisoned. While Rasimi said: Why does this man make me angry?! I am taking people one by one in different cases that have occurred:
Gjovalin Luka, in my opinion, today not only does not have any missing planks, but I can hardly believe that there has ever been a mental shock. Only in the presence of the captain, does he make gestures or express thoughts, of a man who is not in the right mind and plays this role with great finesse, for example, the captain asked him: “if he can find a pair of veggies to make a mat ”(on the Island there is actually no straw for the mat), if he can bring a calf from home, to raise it here, if he can bring a nest with birds from the house, to raise it here, etc.
That supposedly his chicken birds, for three months lay eggs. But in conversations with us, he is completely okayed, even extremely cautious. One day while walking alone, Gjovalini and I showed me the issues in the pavilion of the insane and added: If it were not for Dr. Long, I would have been arrested he gave the report that I am crazy. Of course he is convinced that I had a connection with Tuk Jakova, if Tuku was arrested, I could be arrested too. Talking to Rasim, one day Gjovalini said to him: “Wonder how they did not arrest you Rasim, when” Bishtuku “was imprisoned, you often went to him”? Rasim replied, “You went more often than I did.”
In July, when he received a letter from his wife denying her request to come to a meeting with her husband, he said: is such?
One day when we were talking about different wines and drinks, Gjovalini said: “Wine is drunk by the leaders in the ‘Palace of Brigades’ as thick as milk”. Pecua replied ironically: “Helbete, for the leaders.”
Pigeon Dishnica, looks very shy, holds the wires ready and the rope to tie the things. He has very close friendships with Peço and Gjovalini. He is always waiting, every time a car comes over there, he gets nervous and does not stay in one place. When a political conversation opens, he either stands up demonstratively, or speaks ironically, to interrupt the conversation. For example, Peço was talking about the rehabilitation of some writers in the Soviet Union, at this moment, Pellumbi said to Peço looking him in the eye: “How well these beans we eat have been rehabilitated”, and interrupts the conversation.
One day when we were both, he asked me: Pajo Islami, was he convicted in a special trial, or did he appear in court together with Liri Gega? When I told him that: together with Liri, he seemed to be happy and said: “I knew he came out alone”! Only one day Pellumbi did not restrain himself, when he talked about the ‘Blocks’ of officials, the ‘Palace of Brigades’ and the servants of the leaders. When Gjovalini said that every day in the ‘Palace of Brigades’, leaders eat and drink with free families, Pellumbi added ironically, rolling his eyes: There is the best supply, Zog’s cook, while Peço said: It is built for leaders communism.
Pëllumbi and Xhavit Qesja started learning English, when Xhaferrr Vokshi told them, you have it in vain, I will never want to use you, Pëllumbi replied: “As you know, he can go to work, and then we spend time. Memorie.al
