Memorie.al publishes some archival documents with the logo “Top secret” recently issued by the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana and the Central State Archive, which belong to a period of time from (1969-1991), where there is a correspondence between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Central Committee of the ALP and some of the Albanian diplomatic missions accredited in the West, such as Rome, Paris, etc., with telegrams, reports, reports, information, orders, diplomatic notes, invitations, articles world press newspapers, leaflets, photographs, etc., where it is about Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the famous Charity and Saint of Albanian origin, Gonxhe Bojaxhi, winner of several international awards, such as: “Padmashir”, and “Nehru “, by the Indian government in 1963 and 1972,” Magnasia “by the Philippine government which also proclaimed her” The Deserved Woman of Asia “, some peace awards from the US,” Golden Ambrogino “from Milan,” Universal Mother “in 1974 from cent emigrant orientation, and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. Calvary of Mother Teresa since 1969, who through French and Italian diplomatic channels, asked official Tirana to come to Albania, to her homeland, to visit her mother, Roza Bojaxhi, who at that time was 86 years old. year old and sick, as well as her sister, Age, who lived in Tirana. All the complete documentation (already declassified), extracted from the archives of the Albanian state, is made public for the first time by Memorie.al, where light is shed on all the charitable activity of the famous Saint, in aid of the poor in all over the world and her extraordinary desire to help her compatriots in communist Albania, as well as the total silence of official Tirana and the high communist leadership of that time, led by Ramiz Alia and Nexhmije Hoxha, who under different pretexts , Prevented her arrival in Albania and allowed it only in 1989, thanks to great international pressure!

Although all over the world she was known as Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the famous Charity and Saint Gonxhe Bojaxhi, winner of several international awards and the ‘Nobel’ Prize for Peace in 1979, never hid her Albanian origin, even by requested since 1969, through French, Italian, etc. diplomatic channels, (where the top diplomats of these two countries were engaged), to visit her mother and sister living in Tirana.

“Even though we had many students at school associated with the ‘popular power’, we were able to organize and carry out some…”! / The forgotten history of the Shkodra high school students who opposed communism

But despite the constant request to visit her homeland, then and then engaged some of the leading diplomats of these two Western countries with whom official Tirana had diplomatic relations, the communist regime of Enver Hoxha, did not allow it at all to come and see her mother who was in the last moments of life and Age Bojaxhi, passed away with the great hostage who could not see once again her daughter, Gonxhen, whom he had not seen , since she was a child, time when she had left home to become a nun.

But even after that, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, as she was known all over the world because of her charitable missions to help the poor and needy wherever they were, in all corners of the globe, not only did not got angry with those who did not allow her to see her mother, before she passed away, but instead, prayed for them and I keep asking tirelessly, for years, that she come one day to the birthplace of the first of her, even to put a bouquet of flowers on the grave of her mother and sister, who had already passed away.

But her demands, for two decades (from 1969 to 1989), were rejected on the most absurd pretexts by the communist regime of Enver Hoxha and then his successors, Ramiz Alia and Nexhmije Hoxha, who looked after her and the people who accompanied her: a “Vatican agent”, etc.!

Regarding these as well as all her ordeal of more than two decades to come to Albania, where she thought to open Charities, as she had done in different parts of the world, as well as the real reason why Ramiz Alia and Nexhmije Hoxha, decided to accept it in 1989, when she first came to her homeland, it is mentioned in many archival documents, where there is a correspondence between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana with the Central Committee of the ALP and some of the Albanian diplomatic missions accredited in the West, such as Rome, Paris, etc., with telegrams, reports, reports, information, ordinances, diplomatic notes, invitations, articles of world press newspapers, magazines, leaflets, photographs, etc. ., etc., which are published for the first time by Memorie.al., in the historical dossier section, starting from this number.

Chairman of the Albanian Committee for Cultural and Friendly Relations with the Outer World

                      Tirana Albania

                                                           Dear Mr. Melica

It was an honor and privilege for me to be given the opportunity to accompany Mother Teresa to Albania.

Thank you for the generous hospitality you showed during our visit. As I promised you, I made the right changes to the film, just as we discussed. I am sending you a copy of the movie on VHS-PAL.

I sent a copy for broadcasting to Mira Shuteriqi, on Albanian Television.

I was very impressed by all the people I met, as well as Mother Teresa was very touched by the warmth and love shown to her.

As you may know, and I am sure of it, Mother Teresa was very ill in Calcutta, but is now healed and is very well. Hopefully he leaves the hospital next week. She is looking forward to returning to Albania. Hopes to come before the end of the year. I do not believe that there is anything else that will give him more pleasure.

Please convey your best thanks and greetings to all. I too can hardly wait for the opportunity to return to Albania one day.

            Sincerely

    Jeanette C. Petrie

                                                                   Dear Mrs. Hoxha

It was a great honor and privilege for me to have the opportunity to accompany Mother Teresa to Albania. I was also very happy to have the opportunity to meet you and your daughter.

Mother Teresa was especially touched by the warmth and love with which you received her.

I’m sure you heard that Mother got sick as soon as she returned to Calcutta, but surely now I know to rejoice when you learn that Mother recovered very well (a sign of the Albanian spirit) and will be released from the hospital next week ( or next week).

She is looking forward to revisiting Albania. He hopes to return before the end of the year. I do not believe that anything else will give him more pleasure.

As I promised you, I am sending you a copy of the movie “Mother Teresa”. After the conversation I had with Mr. Melica and the Albanian Television, I did an “editing” of the film and I hope that they will like the copy of the film.

I really want to be given the opportunity to meet you again.

  Best regards

Letter from Mother Teresa, sent to the President of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly, Ramiz Alia

                                                         Dear Mr. Ramiz Alia

Thank you for your warm letter. Forgive me for not writing to you all this time because, as you know, I was sick. I am trying to write a few lines in Albanian after many, many years, so forgive me for the mistakes.

“I have given the ‘Albanian’s trust to God, with love and peace I keep the whole world” giving warm love and care to the sick – the lonely, those who do not love them, who lack love.

“My heart has a great desire to come to Albania with my sisters, and bring me this love and this peace. “I saw that you all have very good points, but my heart longs for me to come with my sisters and give me this love.”

I have seen that everything is beautiful from the people, who serve the sick and children, but I still feel that the Sisters will be able to share the joy of giving love by offering their warm love and care, as they do them today in various countries, including Russia, Cuba and many other countries.

I was very happy to see my people, to see the graves of my mother and sister, which I have never seen in the 60 years since I left Yugoslavia.

Now that I have told you about my wish, they can understand them, because it is the first time after many, many years that I write in Albanian.

I am sending Ms. J. Petri, the person who made the movie “Mother Teresa,” whom I hope you have seen.

I hope and pray that by the end of this year to be with my people in my country Albania.

“I can pray for you

God bless you “

Mother Teresa’s letter sent to Nexhmije Hoxha

Dear Mrs. Hoxha

I often remind you in my prayer and I ask God to help you in your work for the good of the people.

Thanking the President for His beautiful letter I again expressed the desire of my heart to bring the Sisters to Albania.

Of course my love for my country is fully alive. Since I have taken my Sisters to more than 70 countries, most recently to Russia and Cuba, I am confident that you will do all you can to help bring the Sisters to me.

I have been very sick, as you know, porn thanks to the prayers of the whole world and the warm care of our doctors, I am much better and I hope to start moving. Therefore pray for me.

God bless you

              Mother Teresa, Missionary of Charity

I look forward to coming back before the end of the year.

Letter from the Chairman of the Committee on Friendly and Cultural Relations with the Outer World, Jorgo Melica, sent to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Reiz Malile

Comrade REIS

Attached I send you the copy of the letter that Mother Teresa’s journalist, Zhanet Petri, sent me

                                                                              Jorgo Melica

                                                                     Tirana, on 20.11.1989

 I N F O R M A T I O N

On November 24, I received Janet Petri, Mother Teresa’s journalist. After I expressed my satisfaction for Mother Teresa’s health, I was interested in how she spent her days in Albania.

Petri said: Thank you for allowing me to come to Albania and for the care you showed with the two friends who accompany me. I came to Albania on the order of Mother Teresa to bring you some letters for President Ramiz Alia, Nexhmije Hoxha and you.

I met Adelina and handed her the letter to Cyril Pistol.

  • Mother Teresa’s wish is that after she recovers, she will return to Albania, together with her sisters, within this year.
  • I want these letters to be given to the people who are addressed and to be given an answer or to start thinking about these proposals.

I told him that our society is a society that first and foremost cares about man, creates joy for him and is close to him in difficult moments.

In our country, children are organized in kindergartens, for those with mental disabilities there are special schools, there are hospitals for the mentally ill, health care is free, in Albania the birth rate is stimulated, that in the tragedy that happens to a family, participates in the whole society and I mentioned the disaster of November 23rd, which she had heard.

I pointed out that appreciating your contribution, which is humane and humane and that in India, Latin America and the Soviet Union, etc., finds scope, why there are people left on the streets, homeless and helpless, children of abandoned, homeless elderly, drug addicts, people with destructive infectious diseases.

Here in our country these are not found, because there are state institutions in which work hundreds of boys and girls as doctors, nurses, caregivers and educators, so any other mission, in my opinion would be unnecessary.

Zhanet Petri after that said: “The mother accepts this reality and for this she has started talking and is proud to be Albanian”.

  • She thinks that although all the work has been done very well in Albania, she wants to come with her sisters to give this love to the people.

The mother, she added, “took the President’s letter and was very pleased, read it several times but did not find either yes or no in it.”

I know, she said, that there are no problems here like in Africa, but the purpose I have come to is to exchange views on how to fix this today or in the future. I do not know what your answer “yes” or “No” is, but what remains is to think from the President and Mrs. Hoxha, of the Red Cross, that one day we must do something and this Mother expects.

  • Then he asked: “Can Mrs. Hoxha give me an answer if”? I told him that we would send the letters to those who were addressed, but they could not give an answer, because they are busy with the holidays and we do not know if he is here.
  • I said: although I appreciate the mission that Mother Teresa carries out to help people who suffer and have no support as a humanitarian gesture, if you know the Albanian reality and I recommend you to see two or three cities and institutions, you will be convinced that here in our country people have a lot of love for each other, they show care and the state subsidizes a lot for the establishment of institutions, for the free provision of medicines, for the preparation of staff as doctors, nurses, kindergarten and kindergarten educators, midwives in the village, caregivers for asylum dormitories, hospitals, sanatoriums and all that care for man, what you try to do in other places, where you find abandoned, sick and homeless people in our country is the society that copes.
  • She listened to the suggestions with interest, approved them, but from her opinion “let’s start thinking about the future”, she did not back down.

***

  • During his stay here, he visited the “Enver Hoxha” Museum, the Historical Museum, the Archaeological Museum and asked for information material about Albania, which they provided. He visited the city of Berat (churches and castles. He met Marie Kraja and visited the cemetery of Mother Teresa’s family).

As far as we noticed, she was satisfied with the reception.
