Introduction
Memorie.al / When I started writing the book, “The Truths I Believe,” (PAPIRUS Publishing House), I had not thought of writing about myself. The initial impetus came when I became acquainted with the State Security files regarding the surveillance of the citizen Agron Hajdar Aranitasi. Those files are one more piece of evidence of how someone could be persecuted who, at a certain moment, was placed among the enemies of the people’s power. Nothing was taken into account, neither how they had worked, nor how they had behaved, nor how they had lived. No consideration was given to the stance of parents, brothers, and numerous cousins, who automatically were subjected to brutal attack and suffered consequences without any fault.

Hajdar Aranitasi
Zylyftar Ramizi concludes: “Should we get into this problem? I am of the opinion not to get into it (but why shouldn’t they get into it?!). I say this not because at that time, when this problem was discussed, I agreed (that Hajdari was a glorious son…), because I did not think of the vileness of Mehmet Shehu and Kadri Hazbiu, I thought they were with the Party.
Now is not the time to get into the biography of Hajdar Aranitasi’s brothers; in time they will be settled and corrected based on the Party line (what kind of correction is being talked about, when Bajrami and Xhafo were no longer alive?!). I think the letter should be archived (!). Some issues raised in the letter should be placed in Hajdar Aranitasi’s processing file.” Note by Hekuran Isai: “Agree with the opinions of comrade Zylyftar.”
Although the Aranitasi family was in a difficult position, the heads of the family and their youngest son under party sanctions, while the eldest son was interned, a filthy man like Zylyftari does not dare to advance further. He says; “let’s not deal with Hajdari, or with his brothers.” He says that; “everything will be resolved and put in its proper place, with the justice of the party.”
It seems that “those above” had not given approval to bury the Aranitasi family definitively. Zylyftari, in secret, continues his work. He goes to the prison-camp of Saranda and meets Hasan Basha, the well-known doctor from Ballsh, whom he himself had arrested and sentenced, as part of the group that praised Mehmet Shehu after his death.
He promises to release him. He asks him to speak against Hajdar. “Get out of here,” Hasani had shouted; “May you speak ill of Hajdar? He was and remains a man”!
The Preliminary Processing File for Hajdar Aranitasi
Zylyftar Ramizi personally handles Hajdar’s PP file. What the file contained is difficult to fully recount today. It was destroyed in April 1985. However, I have found a part of its documents because they were also placed in Kadri Hazbiu’s files, and some even in the files of centralized problems (“Merimanga” and “Dhelpra”). This case serves as one more piece of evidence that State Security files cannot be destroyed.
Besides being in vests full of microfilms (it is said there were eight such sets), they are also typewritten (it is said there were four such sets), they also appear in the files of other persons convicted by the communist regime. Moreover, even when files are destroyed, the destruction is done with a report, in which all destroyed documents are recorded one by one. They are recorded with a name and a serial number. And they can be reconstructed by those who wrote them.

On the destruction of Hajdar Aranitasi’s files
Held on date …04.1985, at the Directorate of Internal Affairs Tirana, for the destruction of documents kept in the safe of the Director of Internal Affairs, Agron Tafa, charged to party member, Hajdar Aranitasi… residing in Neighborhood 8 Tirana… with higher education, pensioner, Party Member, not convicted, Albanian nationality and citizenship. The preserved materials are destroyed as follows:

The aforementioned materials, 25 in total, are destroyed based on orders given by the Minister of Internal Affairs and the First Secretary of the District Party Committee, for the reason that the issues raised have been dealt with by the District Party Committee and have been addressed in the basic party organization.

I have been able to find documents with serial numbers 5 and 11, which are an implication and an extract from the denunciations of Xhemal Belegu; document no. 9, which is an extract from Zoi Themel’s letter addressed to the Central Committee on date 12.12.1982; document no. 10, which is an implication extracted from information from Xhemal Bejto Fasllia, dated 20.11.1982; document with serial number 19, with three operational notes dated 2.7.1984, sent by the Burrel Internal Affairs Branch, regarding conversations held with Idriz Seiti, Azbi Lamçe and Halim Ramohito;
Document with serial number 20, which is the anonymous letter sent to Enver Hoxha in the name of the people of Mallakastra and a note from Zylyftar Ramizi, addressed to the minister regarding Hajdar Aranitasi;
document with serial no. 21, which is the report of B. p. “Magneti”, dated 14.7.1983, report of B. p. “Magneti”, dated 23.12.1982 and the operational note dated 21.8.1984, sent by the Fier Internal Affairs Branch, with document No. 373/14, dated 27.8.1984; document with serial no. 24, which is the letter of the convicted person Neshet Kasem Mahmutaj, dated 21.8.1984 (precisely on the day when the file (P.P.) was opened charged to Hajdar Aranitasi, – My Note).
In documents 5 and 11, Xhemal Belegu accused Hajdar Aranitasi and Kadri Hazbiu that, with their actions, they had damaged the work of the unit that monitored foreign embassies.
According to Belegu, Hajdari and Kadriu took for personal use the cars that served to surveil foreign embassies. How serious this denunciation was can be understood when Kadri Hazbiu is accused, which had at his disposal a “Benz-Mercedes” and an escort car, “Gaz” or “ARO”!
