At the time of his arrest, on June 21, 1973, by the State Security bodies, of the Internal Affairs Branch of the Saranda district, some “compromising materials”, such as poems and tracts, were found in his house , where he called “for the overthrow of popular power”, etc. The file in charge of the citizen Kaso Hoxha, (now de-classified) begins with the processing, where the State Security bodies and the Department of Internal Affairs of the district of Saranda make every effort to find the author of the letter. with deep hostile content”, which was thrown in the center of Markat village (with residents of the Cham community), where after a long time, with the help of the Central Criminal Laboratory, near the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tirana, it became possible, in order to clarify and identify that the writing on that letter was Kaso Hoxha’s, this also led to his arrest. The file in question continues with the investigative and judicial process against him, where he, after suffering ten years in Spaçi prison, in November 1982 returns to his native village, Markat, where from the first days, he was followed and monitored. by the bodies of the State Security, who had engaged not only some associates of the Security, but also his close family members, this forced Kaso, to escape arrest, to escape from Albania, crossing the state border, to the state neighbors, Greece. After some time staying in the Llavros Camp, he gained the status of a political asylum seeker, to go to the United States of America, where even there, he continued to be followed and monitored by the State Security bodies (Albanian Political Intelligence, which was camouflaged with his residency, near the Diplomatic Mission in the United Nations Organization) and some of its secret agents, until 1991, when the communist regime in Albania collapsed. The story of Kaso Hoxha, became known after the publication of his book “Beautiful land, ugly people”, which he entrusted to Memorie.al in manuscript, now comes through the documents of the State Security, (where they are, reports of collaborators of the State Security, with their pseudonyms, letters, notes, information, relations, report-information, interceptions with operational techniques, etc., of the officers of the State Security, investigators, holders of the Department of Internal Affairs, of the district of Saranda, etc., to the residency of Political Intelligence in the USA, and its agents there), which begin in 1973 and end in 1991, when his file was archived once and for all.

FOR THE OPENING OF THE RESEARCH FILE FOR KASEM CHERÇIZ, THE MARKS OF THE SARANDA DISTRICT WERE REMOVED FROM THE VILLAGE:
I, Operative Worker Petraq Pine, effective of D.P.B. Saranda, after I studied the materials in charge of Kasem Hoxha, from the village of Markat in the district of Saranda.
I FOUND:
That Kasem Hoxha is the son of Çerçiz and Hana, born in 1951, born in the village of Markat and residing there, with 8 years of education, married with two children, unorganized, convicted, with completed military service , of poor peasant origin, cooperative social status, cooperative profession, Albanian nationality and citizenship.
The moral and political standing of his family before the war was good, there was no one connected with the regimes of that time. During the National Liberation War they maintained a good attitude, later the uncle’s son Selfo Hoxha and Rexhep Hoxha fled to Greece.
Similarly, his first cousin, Hiqmet Hoxha, was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment, for tending to escape abroad. There is a brother-in-law, sister’s husband, Idriz Kushi, sentenced to 19 years in prison for theft.
Kasemi himself was convicted in 1973 for agitation and hostile propaganda, with 10 years of imprisonment, and was released in 1982, benefiting from amnesty. In the village, he is known as a closed man, unsociable, indifferent and tied to work and family.
On 30.7.1985, the chairman of the Markat village council, together with the head of the sector, informed the branch guard officer about the absence of Kasem Hoxha in the village.
From the verifications made by us, it turned out that none of his relatives and villagers knew about his departure.
His wife and eldest daughter, in their explanations, said that on July 28, they were at Idriz Hoxha’s wedding and on July 29, Monday, he took the work tools, food, as usual, and left for work, for watering sunflowers, down in the field of Markati.
From the explanations of the citizens, Hysen Osmani and Lutfi Hamo, say that they met Kasem on July 29 and he told you that; I will go to Theollogo, to get the oregano lek he had sold there.
Kasemi was seen by several people on the morning of July 29, on the way to the Markati field, going to work.
