Memorie.al/ publishes some archival documents issued by the institution of the Authority for Information of Former State Security Files, where is the voluminous file (forms, investigative and court), of Myrteza Bajraktari originating from Gostivar, who after finishing school high school in the city of Tetovo, in 1952, began his higher studies at the University of Skopje, in the branch of Philosophy, where in addition to teaching he was employed as a journalist in the newspaper “Flaka e Vllaznimit” published in Skopje, from where he was fired soon after, he published an article where he was openly against the displacement of Yugoslav Albanians to Turkey and as a result, he was appointed as a teacher in the 7-year school “Shaban Zeneli” in Kumanovo. Myrtezai was arrested by the UDB in 1952, after he was part of a secret organization called the ‘Albanian National-Democratic Organization’, and he was sentenced to seven years in political prison, which he served in the Nis prison and Idrizovo. Escape from Yugoslavia and coming to Albania, where after staying for some time in the internment camp in Seman of Fier, he was given the right to high school, graduating from the University of Tirana in Language and Literature, but after refusing the appointment in the city of Berat, in 1971, he was arrested and sentenced to seven years in political prison, on charges of “agitation and propaganda”. Release from prison and leaving without work until the collapse of the communist regime and his appointment as Consul General of Albania in Switzerland, until 1993, and then his election as Honorary President of the Albanian League in the World, for the countries of Benelux, where he worked for the cause of Kosovo, until he passed away on December 11, 2020. The entire complete file of Myrteza Bajraktari, with the names of officials and officers of the State Security, the nicknames of collaborators, “colleagues” and “Together with the patriots” who followed and monitored him, the provocateurs in the investigation cells, the witnesses who appeared in court, the letters sent to Enver Hoxha and the high official instances where he demanded his innocence, etc., etc., are published for the first time by Memorie.al

He reports that during the daily talks he had during August 1965 with Myrteza Bajraktar, among other things, he told him that when you go to Yugoslavia and meet my sister, you tell her that since to write me a letter, to say goodbye to Xhezair. I with this will understand that you have met and fulfilled my order. On the other hand, I think that when you go to Yugoslavia, you should immediately do the paperwork, to go to Turkey.
Once you get there, you will meet my cousin Nasir, and you will carry out the order that I will give. To make sure you went there, I will send you a letter, in which I will say goodbye to the Lion, and when I receive the letter from him, I will make sure that you have gone to Turkey.
Next, I will ask the Albanian government to go to Turkey, and as soon as I leave there, I will start looking for help in organizing the uprising in Kosovo. I, said Myrtezai, have hope until September 15, 1965, that if they take me to education or studies, but if they do not take me, I will ask for a meeting with someone big and explain that I am being held in Seman, isolated for nothing.
Regarding Yugoslavia, he says that: there the people have freedom and prosperity, while in Albania the people suffer from dictatorship and there is neither freedom nor prosperity. Here, only a part of the people work, enough to make a living, while the rest, keeps hopes today for tomorrow, to start work.
Here people, as a result of oppression, are not smiling, but gloomy. The cadres coming out of the schools know almost nothing, as the Party educates them to come out criminals and heartless, in order to eradicate the feelings of the people.
And he takes as an example the writer Sterjo Spase, where he says that: before the liberation he was known abroad for his novels. But today, he writes things only for the Party, because the communists forced him to become one.
Regarding the war in Vietnam, Myrtezai said: there the communists are waging an aggressive war and that part of South Vietnam they will occupy and spread their communist ideas in Asia. And this war that they are waging is to kill as many people as possible, because that is what they want.
America, on the other hand, aims to liberate the peoples of the world from communist banditry and fights for freedom, democracy, and peace around the world. Myrtezai has made these comments especially in those cases when the source has shown dissatisfaction and upset in Seman, why repatriation is not coming.
