Memorie.al publishes a file that was obtained some time ago by the institution of the Authority for the Information of Files of the former State Security, where the investigative, judicial and processing file of the citizen Kasëm Hoxha, originally from the village of Markat in Saranda and residing in the USA since 1985, when he was able to escape from Albania to Greece, after having suffered ten years in the Spaçi camp, convicted of “agitation and propaganda against popular power”. At the time of his arrest, on June 21, 1973, by the State Security bodies, of the Internal Affairs Branch of the Saranda district, some “compromising materials”, such as poems and tracts, were found in his house , where he called “for the overthrow of popular power”, etc. The file in charge of the citizen Kaso Hoxha, (now de-classified) begins with the processing, where the State Security bodies and the Department of Internal Affairs of the district of Saranda make every effort to find the author of the letter. with deep hostile content”, which was thrown in the center of Markat village (with residents of the Cham community), where after a long time, with the help of the Central Criminal Laboratory, near the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tirana, it became possible, in order to clarify and identify that the writing on that letter was Kaso Hoxha’s, this also led to his arrest. The file in question continues with the investigative and judicial process against him, where he, after suffering ten years in Spaçi prison, in November 1982 returns to his native village, Markat, where from the first days, he was followed and monitored. by the bodies of the State Security, who had engaged not only some associates of the Security, but also his close family members, this forced Kaso, to escape arrest, to escape from Albania, crossing the state border, to the state neighbors, Greece. After some time staying in the Llavros Camp, he gained the status of a political asylum seeker, to go to the United States of America, where even there, he continued to be followed and monitored by the State Security bodies (Albanian Political Intelligence, which was camouflaged with his residency, near the Diplomatic Mission in the United Nations Organization) and some of its secret agents, until 1991, when the communist regime in Albania collapsed. The story of Kaso Hoxha, became known after the publication of his book “Beautiful land, ugly people”, which he entrusted to Memorie.al in manuscript, now comes through the documents of the State Security, (where they are, reports of collaborators of the State Security, with their pseudonyms, letters, notes, information, relations, report-information, interceptions with operational techniques, etc., of the officers of the State Security, investigators, holders of the Department of Internal Affairs, of the district of Saranda, etc., to the residency of Political Intelligence in the USA, and its agents there), which begin in 1973 and end in 1991, when his file was archived once and for all.

I wrote you two more letters, but no answer. Why? Why, I can answer: You are right, sister, but believe me, because evil people forced me to abandon you, adding to your troubles, and I caused you spiritual pain.

FINDING
Kasëm Hoxha is the son of Çerçiz and Nana, dt. 1951, born in Markat, Saranda district, with 8-year education, former cooperative member, married with four children, sentenced once, in 1974, to ten years of imprisonment, for agitation and hostile propaganda, with citizenship and Albanian nationality.
Kaso’s relatives have not kept a good attitude. Around 1956, the first cousin, Rexhep Hoxha, escaped to Greece, later, the other, first cousin, Hiqmet Hoxha, was caught in an attempt to escape and was convicted. In 1967, the second cousin, Zeqo Kola, escapes to Greece, two years later, another first cousin, Selfo Hoxha, escapes.
Kasua is married to Mejdo Tare Bejkati, from Markati, a well-off family. Kasua has a sister named Fatbardha, who is married to Idriz Kushti – he is currently in prison, seven years in prison for embezzlement of socialist wealth.
Kasua himself, in 1972, was involved in active processing for agitation and propaganda, and in 1973, he was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, a sentence he served in the Spaçi camp, from where he was released in 1982, benefited from amnesty. After this time, 2/B, from the Saranda Department of Internal Affairs, was under surveillance.
On 29.7.1985, Kaso Hoxha escaped to Greece. Right after the escape, there he gave an interview with very hostile expressions to the Greek press, against our country. (These are not recorded in his file).
According to our instructions, the New York residency has ordered B.p. “6856”, to talk to Kaso Hoxha, to convince him to return to his homeland, while he was in Greece, but he (Kasua) did not accept.
In Greece, he stayed for about three months in the Llavrio camp, and after that time, he went and settled in the USA, in Chicago, for which his first cousin, Rexhep Hoxha, with residence, helped him there. Even in the USA, his attitude towards our country is hostile.
On 26.11.1985, he sent a letter addressed to the Central Committee of the ALP and the Presidium of the People’s Assembly, in which he expressed his displeasure for the allegedly bad treatment he received from the bodies of some people power in the district, as well as for the woman, whom he considers to be the cause of his misfortunes.
Besides these, at the end of the letter, he states that his personal life, which according to him, is full of suffering in our country, he plans to write and publish it in a book with hostile content, against our country.

That the fugitive Kasëm Hoxha, take him into active processing 2/A, to discover, process and prevent his hostile activity against our country. By also making the relevant changes in the Directory.

- His connections with Ilia Leka, the conversations he had with him, what people Ilia Leka told about in our country, what he promised to Kasos and what actions against us he talked about.
- The conversations with Archbishop Serafin, what Serafini was interested in, to learn about our country, through him, what orders and promises he made, with what connections he recommended to meet in Greece, etc.
