1926 – Felix Dzerzhinsky dies at the age of 48. Dzerzhinsky was one of the first Bolshevik officials. He was one of the architects of the Red Terror in Russia in the 1920s.

1997– Arshi Pipa died, he was an Albanian teacher, publicist, poet, linguist, literary critic, translator and lecturer. He studied Literature and Philosophy at the University of Florence, and graduated with the thesis “Morality and Religion in Bergson”. He returned to Albania and from 1941 and until the end of 1944 he taught philosophy at the State Lyceums of Tirana, Shkodra and Durres. In 1944 he directed the magazine “Kritika”, published by Myzaferi. Pipë was arrested on April 27, 1947 and after them Preng Kaçinari and Pashk Gjeçi were also arrested. Pipa was accused that during the war he “ran magazines with fascist ideology to deceive the people and disguise the fascist occupation” and that he continued to work with his students accusing the communist government of being terrorists, charges for which he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. years of imprisonment. He was released on April 26, 1956, and one late summer night in 1957, he escaped with his sister, Fehime. He settled in Sarajevo until 1959. He emigrated to the United States in 1958. At first he worked as a cashier in a New York hotel. His first appointment was at Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas, where he taught philosophy in 1960. Homeland honored him with the high title: “First Class Naim Frashëri” and his hometown declared him “Honorary Citizen” ”. His bust built with Bronx stands, since 1999, in the premises of the City Historical Museum.
