Memorie.al / At the end of August and the beginning of September of 1983, a mysterious video that was distributed a few days before the trial of Fiqirete Shehu, prepared with her testimony during the investigative process by the people of the State Security, was distributed in all the cities of Albania from the South to the North which was heard with the center of the voice in the most important institutions, enterprises and work centers of production throughout the country. The widow of the former prime minister who committed suicide under suspicious circumstances, affirmed with her own mouth, the whole mystery of the sensational event as well as her “hostile activity” and that of the Shehu family as well. All those who had the opportunity to know him closely were surprised by the testimony of Fiqirete Shehu, the wife of Mehmet Shehu, (former member of the Central Committee of the Party since April 1952, former director of the High School of the Party ” Vladmir Ilic Lenin” in Tirana), while the majority of the people, workers and peasants wherever they were, believed blindly, everything was said in that ghostly video, where she confessed with conviction, plots after plots, devised by her husband and others, with the sole purpose of carrying out the assassination of the main leader of the Party, Enver Hoxha!
After her testimony, the senior leadership of PPSh headed by Enver Hoxha, Ramiz Ali and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hekuran Isain, who were the main creators of that process and the video that was served to the Albanians with the testimony of Fiqrtet Shehu, thought that all doubts about the suicide of former Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu would be closed. But soon, people would start talking under their breath and questioning her statements, thinking that she was repeating what the investigators and the Security people dictated to her. Meanwhile, the first hypotheses arose, according to which Fiqiretja was forced to do everything in order to save the rest of the family, the children.

Indictment for Fiqret Shehu, Llambi Ziçishti, Nesti Nasen and Llambi Peçin
The enemy Fiqirete Shehu has played an active role to link the actions of the organization with foreign intelligence, he worked himself and charged the members of the organization to hit and sabotage the party line and together with the enemies, who worked in the Ministry of the Interior, was the closest collaborator of the police agent Mehmet Shehu.

In the same way, the defendant Llambi Ziçishti, being the Minister of Health, was entrusted with the main task of preparing the conditions for the physical elimination of the Leader of the Party and the People and sabotaging the party line in the sector where he worked.
Mehmet Shehu used the former Foreign Minister, Nesti Nase, to find a way to establish relations with the West, especially with the USA, and indirectly with the Soviet Union. Nesti Nase has carried out the liaison of the organization with the American and Soviet intelligence emissaries.
The defendant, Skënder Shehu, has been activated and performed important tasks in the traitorous organization. This enemy, by order of his father, the poly-agent Mehmet Shehu, was the organization’s liaison with American Intelligence and prepared the conditions for the agent meetings that Fiqirete Shehu made, with her pilgrimages abroad, helped in the preparatory actions for the physical elimination of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of PPSh, etc.
The court decision for Fiqrete Shehu
From the development of the trial, it was fully proven that the defendants Fiqiret Shehu, Llambi Ziçishti, Nesti Nase and Skënder Shehu, in cooperation with foreign agencies, have committed terrorist acts for the physical elimination of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party of Labor of Albania.
All the victories that our people and our Party have achieved, the great prestige and authority they enjoy in the world today, are inextricably linked to Comrade Enver Hoxha, the founder of our Party, the fighter of the first hours against fascism and betrayal, against imperialism and revisionism, the outstanding Marxist-Leninist, the most beloved and dear person of the Party and the Albanian people.
Therefore, it is natural that all the plans of our external and internal enemies have also aimed at the physical elimination of the leader of the party and the people. To achieve this goal, the polyagent Mehmet Shehu, has thought and acted in cooperation with his bosses, since during the National Liberation War.
At the behest of the British, during the Winter Operation 1943-1944, he did not go with the First Brigade, to the aid of the General Staff, which was surrounded by the Germans, in order to be annihilated.
But as is known, against the will of the enemies, this was avoided, the Headquarters broke the siege itself. On this issue, the son of the traitor Mehmet Shehu, convicted Bashkim Shehu, testified: “As Mehmet told me, the English general, through the English officer, who was near the First Brigade, ordered that the Brigade not go to the aid of the Headquarters General, let the headquarters be destroyed.
I, Mehmet Shehu told me, discussed this matter with Fiqrete Shehu and Tuk Jakova and all three of us agreed with the order of the English. We delayed the departure of the Brigade in aid of the General Staff for several days…!
The same thoughts were also shared by the close friend of the traitor Mehmet Shehu, Nako Spiro, the man of Yugoslavia and behind the scenes of Berat, who, speaking of his friend Enver Hoxha, told Naxhie Dume in Berat: “If the Commander does not, he obeys, the monster obeys”!
As it turned out in the investigation and in the trial, the bosses have given Mehmet Shehu, different variants to physically annihilate the first Secretary of the Central Committee of the Labor Party of Albania.
The terrorist Mehmet Shehu wanted to carry out this despicable act in 1973, with the help of the doctors who were treating Comrade Enver Hoxha, who should have caused complications to his health. This is exactly why the departure to Paris was sped up…!
“At the end of April 1981, this defendant said, in Paris I met with a Yugoslav intelligence officer, who gave me a package of poison pills to deliver to Mehmet Shehu as soon as possible.”
This fact is also confirmed by the defendant Skënder Shehu, who learned from the defendant Fiqirete Shehu that, in the meeting with the Yugoslav agent in Paris, the Yugoslavs wanted Mehmet Shehu to take over the leadership of the Party as soon as possible, by physically liquidating it. its leader, by means of poison, which was administered to this agent in Paris.
“It was this reason, explained the investigator in the trial, the defendant Skënder Shehu, which made it necessary to meet with the personnel of the American agency in Sweden, where he would be finally settled.”
After providing the poison with a delayed effect, the members of the counter-revolutionary organization, headed by the police agent Mehmet Shehu, prepared the detailed plan of the terrorist act and then of the seizure of power, dividing the roles and tasks depending on the function that each performed.
The defendant, Fiqrete Shehu, was tasked with the task of finding the most suitable moment to throw poison into the coffee during the holidays in Vlora, when the first Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party exchanged visits with Mehmet Shehu. late, the defendant Llambi Ziçishti, would manipulate the results of the toxicological analyzes and the forensic autopsy.
Whereas the defendant Nesti Nase, would find literature on the forms and methods of assassinations against political personalities, would avoid the release of the secrets of this criminal activity abroad and would cut off any information that could come to Albania, about the activity of discoveries foreigners against our country. Other members of this organization also had important tasks.
The defendant, Fiqrete Shehu, explained about this problem:
“… Mehmet immediately talked with Kadri Hazbiu, Feçor Shehu, Llambi Pecin and Mihallaq Ziçishti and me… Mehmet Shehu also talked … with Llambi Ziçishti… and gave him orders…. Kadri Habiu said that; the murder with sugary poison, let’s do it in Vlora, when the First Secretary of the Central Committee came for vacation…! Let’s put the poison pill in the coffee, which I brought from Paris”.
Even the defendant Llambi Zicishti explained: “…in August 1981, Mehmeti called me and said: I will do the liquidation of the main leader of the Party… For this purpose, I have also provided the tool, the slow-acting poison, which Fiqretja brought from outside…! Mehmet told me that there is no other way…! When the first signs of poisoning appeared, I would manipulate the tests and then manipulate the autopsy…! I had to save both the manipulated analyzes and the real copies, which he (Mehmet Shehu) …would use to accuse the opponents as murderers”.
While the defendant Nesti Nase explained about this problem: “Mehmet Shehu told me… the time has come for changes to be made without grace, by force, and about this problem, I talked with Feçor and Kadri, who are charged, how will they act…! You, Nesti, should think about acting immediately, to justify the changes that will be made in the leadership and the positions that we will take”.
As it was pointed out, in order to get out of the difficult situation that Yugoslavia was going through, on December 16 and 17, 1981, the UDB, through its agents, transmitted to Mehmet Shehu that: “Enver Hoxha should be killed at all costs with firearms”, even in the meeting, even if he himself is killed”. The terrorist Mehmet Shehu happened to be at a crossroads: on the one hand, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Labor Party of Albania demanded an account for his son’s engagement and for his other anti-party actions, on the other hand, the UDB ordered him to action.
After consulting with his closest collaborators, like his friend Nako Spiro once, he decided and killed himself, to save his “glorious past”, his wife and children and not to be accountable to the People’s Party, for the vile hostile work he had secretly done, for 40 consecutive years. But thanks to her vigilance, the Party discovered the threads of this conspiracy and crushed it.
From the entire development of the investigation and trial, it was fully proven that one of the main directions of this counter-revolutionary organization, directed by the traitor Mehmet Shehu, has been the sabotage of the orientations and directives of the Party and all activity in the various fields of development life in our country.
These enemies have fulfilled special tasks to obstruct and distort the implementation of the Party’s line and to sabotage the socialist economy in the sectors they covered. This sabotaging activity is mutually coordinated and in continuation of the sabotages, which have inspired under the direction of the mercenary Mehmet Shehu, other anti-party groups, traitors, conspirators, coup plotters and saboteurs, in various areas of socialist construction in the country ours.
DECISION ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE
The Criminal College of the Supreme Court of the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania, in the judicial body under the chairmanship of: Arianit Çelë – President of the Supreme Court, with secretaries; Ylli Mahmudaj and Sadik Memo and with the participation of the General Prosecutor, Rrapi Mino, from August 15 to 29, 1983, tried at first instance, in an open court session, criminal case no. 7 act, which belongs to the defendants:
- FIQRETE SHEHU, the daughter of Abedin and Hedija, born in 1919, in the city of Berat and resident in Belsh of Elbasan, with Albanian citizenship and nationality, with a wealthy peasant social origin, with a social status of employee, former director of the School of Party leader “V.I. Lenin”, in Tirana), with a higher education, no titles of honor or decorations, no previous convictions, arrested on January 6, 1982.
- LLAMBI ZIÇISHTI, son of Petro and Juile, born in 1923 in Ziçisht of Korça and resident in the city of Tirana, with Albanian citizenship and nationality, social origin individual craftsman and social status civil servant, former Minister of Health) married, has two children, expelled from the Party, highly educated, does not hold honorary titles or decorations, no previous convictions, arrested on May 15, 1982.
- NESTI NASTE, son of Vanci and Olimbia, born in 1922 in the city of Korça and resident in Tirana, with Albanian citizenship and nationality, social origin poor citizen, social status civil servant, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, widowed no children, expelled from the Party, with a secondary education, no honorary titles or decorations, no previous convictions, arrested on January 8, 1982.
- SKENDER SHEHU, the son of Mehmet and Fiqirete, born in 1949 in the city of Tirana and resident in Belsh of Elbasan, with Albanian citizenship and nationality, of social status, civil servant, unmarried, with higher education, do not hold honorary titles or decoration, no previous convictions, arrested on January 8, 1982.
ACCUSED OF:
- They were placed at the service of foreign agencies and performed the tasks assigned by them;
- have participated in counter-revolutionary organizations led by the traitor and political agent Mehmet Shehu, which aimed to attack the ALP, the Marxist-Leninist leadership and overthrow the popular power in Albania;
- have carried out preparatory acts of terror for the physical elimination of the First Secretary of the Central Committee;
- have sabotaged the political and economic line of the Party, causing 1,219,763 ALL material damage to the state.
- have developed agitation and propaganda against the state, i.e., have committed the crimes provided respectively by articles 47 letter “g’, 57, 50 paragraph I in relation to article 11 first paragraph 53 and 55 first paragraph of the Code Criminal of the RPSSH. Memorie.al
