Memorie.al publishes some unknown photos, which belong to post-war Albania (1947) when the Albanian Red Cross, with the help provided by UNRRA (mainly the US government) distributed in different cities of the country, food and clothing packages for the poor in need that were found everywhere in the cities and villages of Albania at that time. Poorly dressed men and women, old men and women with bags, baskets and handkerchiefs on their shoulders, young and old mothers with small and hungry children, with trinkets, identification documents and bags in their hands, all in line in front of the premises and Albanian Red Cross warehouses where boxes and aid packages are loaded and unloaded, waiting to receive a glass of milk, sugar and rice packages. These are the sad images of some of our cities in post-war Albania, where Red Cross volunteers and partisans in uniform serve the poor population of that time.
