Memorie.al publishes some rare documents extracted from the Central State Archive (fund 14, Ap. Of the former Central Committee of the ALP), where there is a secret report of 1949, where Major General Mehmet Shehu informs Enver Hoxha and the Central Committee of the Communist Party, for the tortures that were done during the investigation ing. Lutfi Strazimir and Pavlo Margariti, who were accused of being agents of the Americans and Abdyl Bani, the escort of Colonel Islam Radovicka, where, among others, the Major of the State Security, Zymer Jerina, writes: Radovicka and not even for himself, although he was tortured by a former captain and kept under pressure, without sleep, without bread, on foot by a lieutenant”!
From November 1948 when Enver Hoxha began his crackdown on Koci Xoxa at the first SNP Congress and the following month until he appeared in court in May 1949, on Enver’s direct orders, by The Ministry of Interior, and mainly the Directorate of State Security, received a large number of secret files which were sent to his cabinet to the Central Committee of the SNP. In those files that belonged to a period of four years (1945-1948) there were documents with minutes, reports, reports, information, various letters, etc., which were mainly related to the activity and work of the former Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General, Koci Xoxes, who was in the investigation process in the cells of the old Prison of Tirana. Most of these files contained arrests, eliminations of persons, torture against them, death in cells, shootings, with and without trial, concealment of corpses, etc. etc. The most heinous crimes committed up to that period of time by the Ministry of Interior. Enver Hoxha’s intention was to “bill” those “evidence and facts” to former Minister Koci Xoxe and some of his close associates, Deputy Ministers of Interior, Directors of State Security, and other ranking officials. lower of that ministry, accusing them of all the crimes that had taken place in that period of time that they had been in charge of the Ministry of Interior. And to make the fight and “denunciation of the crimes of Koco Xoxa” as credible as possible, Enver Hoxha announced an amnesty, releasing some people from prison and rehabilitating some others, which is already known in the History of the ALP as the “Turn of the Party”. In connection with the above, it also refers to this archival document which belongs to February 1949 and which contains an information report compiled by the Major of the State Security (Zymer Jerina) and which is communicated to the senior leadership of the Party. Communists and some of Enver Hoxha’s closest collaborators, such as: Mehmet Shehu, Tuk Jakova, Liri Belishova, Kadri Hazbiu, etc., which Enver has seen and signed with his signature. The document in question, which clearly reflects the monstrous crimes that occurred in that period of time, is published for the first time and exclusively by Memorie.al.
Secret report of the State Security Major for Kadri Hazbiu
LETTER FOR COLONEL KADRI HAZBIUN
Comrade Colonel
According to the material at my disposal, here I am listing some materials on the people who are interested in both Comrade Tuk and Comrade Liri.
- Lutfi Strazimiri was arrested in August 1947 accused of being a spy in the service of the American espionage (S.B.S.) recruited by Fultzi since 1923- ‘27 while he was a student at the Technical School of Tirana. During his time at the Technical School he attended a spying course for a long time together with many classmates (about 15 people whose names are recorded in his minutes).
After graduating from school, he became an active member of the American intelligence service, after a while I went to continue my studies as an Engineer in Germany. After staying in Germany for three years, he came to Albania where he again came in contact with Fultz, who at that time was preparing to leave Albania, because he was expelled from the Albanian state. Before leaving, Fultzi introduced Lutfi to the American espionage man in the American Legation, Hofmman, with whom he collaborated until the American Legation left Albania. In this case Lutfiu signed the contract and became a regular spy, who for the services he performed, was rewarded with 200 Fr. Gold per month. He received this salary regularly even after the departure of the Legation, through Ahmet Çela (Lutfiu’s classmate), to whom Lutfiu gave information and Ahmeti took this information to the Turkish Legation. i.e. that Lutfiu in this case also served the Turkish espionage. In 1936, d.m.th. after three years of returning from Germany, he fell in love with three German Gestapo officers who were civilians in Albania as technicians but with an espionage mission. Lutfiu maintained these connections with various information until the end of 1944 (a few months before the capitulation of Germany). During this time, he had contacts with many Gestapo officers until recently, including General Fiztum.
After his release, he resumed his espionage service in the service of the Americans. (Talked to the people Fultzi S.B.S had sent to Albania). Based on Fulzt’s directives, the Technical-Intellectual Organization was organized, where Lutfiu became an active participant until he was assassinated.
Based on the material of his trial, I think that his sentence is politically correct, although in the investigator of that time there may have been suggestions, excessive exaggerations, etc.
- Pavllo Margariti, from Vlora, former Lieutenant of the National Army. Asht was arrested in May 1947 for espionage activity in the service of American imperialism.
In August 1942 because of his pro-L.N.Ç. was arrested by the Italians and interned in the Bari Camp where I remained until the time of the capitulation of Italy before the Anglo-American troops. Two months later he left the Bari camp by the English and was sent to a camp 20 km away from Bari. There he came in contact with agent Lari Post and an American captain of Albanian origin. Since he was ill with the mediation of these he was taken out of the camp and sent to the Sanatorium. Here you are often visited by Larry Postos and the captain who helped him materially and educated him in the service of American espionage. All his friends who had been with them in the camp were organized by Fultzi in special information courses, such as Galip Hatibi, Kol Berisha, Sinan Gjoni, Hasan Reçi, Spiro Dhima, etc. While Paul was educated individually because of his state of health. During the time he was there, he claims that he was recruited as a regular S.B.S Agent and was transferred to Albania with the same duties. Here he maintained regular contacts with people recommended by the Americans, received instructions from them and direct from Larry Posto.
He gave them all kinds of information and betrayed the task that was entrusted to the General Command Censorship Office.
He carried out hostile and organized work until his arrest. After the arrest, he confirmed everything himself. It is not known if he was tortured.
From the material he has in the process, I think his sentence is fair.
- Abdyl Bani, from Vlora who was behind Islam Radovicka. -He was arrested in order to get something out of the activity of Islam and because he was implicated in the process of the thief Adem Çoku as the instigator of this for theft and escape. During the investigation, he did not testify about Islam, Adam or himself, even though he was tortured by a former Captain and kept under pressure (without sleep, without bread, on foot by a Lieutenant). After a day of being tortured by Capt., He dies. According to the report issued by Dr. Ibrahim Dervishi, it turns out that this was the T.B.C in the last degree and of course for his death they were hastened by the tortures and the bad life in the dungeon. That same night (night without being seen, he was buried by Lieutenant Zydi Aga on the bank of the river where the Enemies of the People were buried. The body before being buried was not sent to the Garrison as stated in the letter. Lieutenant Zydi Aga.
Regarding this issue, the 1st Captain Stavri Xhara, after the 1st Congress of P.K.Sh. has compiled a detailed report which was submitted either to the Central Committee or to the Military Prosecutor’s Office.
