I, Iliaz Haxhiaj, an investigator at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, asked the defendant Shtjefa Kurti.
Question: In the previous minutes, you said that you listened to the broadcasts of foreign radio stations. Tell us, what news have you heard and with whom have you commented on this news?
Answer: In July of 1969, I bought a radio and from the time I bought this radio until the day I was arrested, I continuously listened to the broadcasts of the “Voice of America” radio stations. , Rome, the Vatican and Moscow. I have listened to Radio Zëri i Amerika and Moscow in the Albanian language; while Rome and the Vatican in Italian. In many cases, when I heard these news, Pjeter Biba was also present, rarely Zef Nishi. I commented on this news with these two, making a summary of the news I heard in Italian and translating it into Albanian.
In general, the news had a political character, but there were also social and scientific issues. I remember that on one occasion, I heard on the news broadcast by “Voice of America” radio about Nixon’s greeting to the Albanian press in America and the achievements for the work that had been done up to that time and for the future. This greeting was on the occasion of the anniversary of the newspaper “Dielli”. The other news that we have heard and commented on between us, I, Zef Nishi and Pjetër Biba, as well as sometimes with Bardhok Marku, have been about the war in Vietnam, about the progress that these countries had achieved in the field of science and economy.
Of these broadcasts, I have listened to many radio stations in Rome, which were well heard, but also the Moscow radio station of “Voice of America”, although there were times when they were not clearly heard, because there was noise. I have heard them often. Apart from the people I mentioned above, I don’t remember that I have commented on these news with other people, except rarely sometimes, when we listened and commented on the news of the radio stations that I mentioned above, people from Peter Biba, like Dava and Prena Biba.

I, Iliaz Haxhiaj, an investigator at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, asked the defendant Shtjefen Kurti.
Question: In the process of July 14, 1970, you affirmed that at the dinner that was organized in your room, among other things, you talked between you, Pjetër Biba, Mark Bardhok and Zef Nish about the continuation of thefts in the agricultural cooperative of Gurëz, with the aim of destroyed the cooperative. Tell us since when and how many times have you talked about this issue?
Answer: Apart from the conversation we had in my room, when I, Pjetër Biba, Bardhok Marku and Zef Nishi gathered, which I have talked about in my previous minutes, I do not remember that we talked once others, but the issue of damages that must be done to the agricultural cooperative of Gurezi, in order to destroy the cooperative. I remember that during the year 1969, in the conversations I had with Pjeter Biba, he told me that this government took my land, the meadows that I had and I, continued Pjetri, why is it taking anything from the cooperative’s mill, I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong.
In this case, I told Peter that you took your toil and your sweat, remembering that Peter used to steal something from the cooperative’s mill. Later, before Zef Nishi was arrested, Pjetër Biba told me that on the shore of Mata, from a woman, they had taken three pigs, one for himself, one for Zef Nishi and one for Bardhok Mark. They had taken these pigs for 9,000 old summer ALL and that Pjetri had become indebted to his wife for 9,000 ALL. In this case, I realized that Pjatër Biba did not steal from the cooperative with small amounts, but with large amounts, and I told him: “You, Pjeter, have gone deep”! Peter told me that I will pay them. From this conversation, I also understood that together with Pjetër Biba, Zef Nishi and Bardhok Marku also stole from the cooperative.
Question: How is it explained that from this conversation you had with Pjetër Bibe, you realized that these three steal the cooperative?
Answer: The truth is that from the conversations I had with Pjetër Biba, Zef Nish and Bardhok Marku, I found out that they, together with others, steal the berekas from the Gurezi agricultural cooperative. In the spring of 1969, being in my room, together with Pjetër Biba and Zef Nish, in addition to other conversations against the government, which I have spoken in my processes, in this case there was also a conversation about the theft work that they carried out in the cooperative. I, here, have talked with them that the thefts should continue in the future, because in this way the income in the cooperative would decrease, the members of the cooperative would become dissatisfied, they would cause quarrels between the members, they would stand up against the cooperative and in this way it would be achieved in its destruction.
Like Zefi and Pejtri, they completely agreed with me. For this purpose, about the destruction of the Gurëzi agricultural cooperative, we also talked at the dinner that we gathered in my room, where I, Pjetër Biba, Bardhok Marku and Zef Nishi were. Besides us, as I said, Prena and Dava Biba were also present here. Again, here we have talked about the continuation of the thefts as well as making people dissatisfied with the government and the cooperative.

I, Iliaz Haxhiaj, an investigator at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, asked the defendant Shtjefa Kurti.
Question: After the meeting that was held in your room, where it was decided to continue the thefts in the agricultural cooperative of Gurezi, in order to achieve the destruction of the cooperative, did they continue to commit thefts from the berecet of the cooperative, Pjetër Biba, Zef Nishi and Bardhok Marku?
Answer: Thefts in the agricultural cooperative of Gurëzi continued to be committed by Pjetër Biba, Zef Nishi and Bardhok Marku even after the meeting that took place in my room, but these did not continue long, because in February 1970, the arrests began. At first, Zef Nishi was arrested, after him Pjetër Biba was arrested and after Pjetir, Bardhok Marku was arrested. So, with the arrest of these, the issue of theft of wealfy in the Gurezi agricultural cooperative was stopped and the destruction of the cooperative was not achieved.
Question: In addition to Pjetër Biba, Zef Nish and Bardhok Marku, with which other persons did you, talk to do damage to the agricultural cooperative of Gurëzi, in order to achieve the destruction of the cooperative?
Answer: Apart from the conversations I had with Pjetër Biba, Zef Nish and Bardhok Marku, so that they would continue to commit thefts in the agricultural cooperative of Gurëzi, in order to achieve the destruction of the cooperative, I have not talked with anyone else about this purpose.
Question: Do you know Fran Noci?
Answer: Yes, I know Fran Noci, this is Nue Gjon Noci’s son.
Question: Tell us what hostile conversations you had with Farn Noci, against the government?
Answer: With Fran Noci, I only had a greeting when we met, but I did not have a hostile conversation against the government with him. While with his father, Nue Gjon Nocin, as I have spoken in my processes, on two occasions we talked about the issue of the execution of Mark Dushi, for which he was very sorry, as well as about the closing of churches.

I, Iliaz Haxhiaj, an investigator at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, asked the defendant Shtjefa Kurti.
Question: Do you continue to give explanations about the hostile activity that you developed against the government?
Answer: I want to clarify why I have always continued without trust in the current regime and therefore I have continued with my activity against the government. I remember when Eisenhower was President of America; he gave a speech, saying that we will continue the arms race, 25-30 or even 70 years, until the other side gets tired. On a secret note, I have read the materials and speeches given at the congresses of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, at the time Khrushchev was in power, which presented colossal economic figures in both agriculture and other food industrial development, and later I read in our press that Khrushchev had lied by presenting unreal and accurate figures, inflating them, and this was proven when Khrushchev asked for American and Canadian help to sell nearly a million tons of wheat to the Soviet Union on credit.
In this way, I have deduced for myself that forty years of communist power were not enough for the Soviet Union, for the people’s bread for sure, because there is no need for bread. So I have deepened my conviction and said that the communist system is not able to meet the needs of the people better than the other capitalist system. So I have made my deductions, as if this system in the Soviet Union, for forty or so years, did not give the results, according to the predictions and speech, maybe in Albania, which is a small and backward country, there will be successes in the field economic, which were not reached there for forty years. This is where my doubt fell asleep, which I have not removed, since I was in a priori opposition to what was said by the leadership of the party and the government in Albania.
