Memorie.al / “My brother, Petriti, wanted the daughter of the Founder of the Party, but at a time when the Founder of the Party was no longer in good health, the current leader of the Party urged the wife of the Founder of the Party, so that this engagement does not take place was done and this told my father that; this engagement could not be done because the people will speak. My father called Petrit and said: Forget this conversation! The leader of the Party did this, because if this engagement took place, the friendship would be strengthened and after his death, the chair of the Founder of the Party would be taken by my father. The wife of the Founder of the Party did not ask the founder of the Party about the children’s problems. When my father was dismissed and the free investigation continued with him, we were all gathered at our house, we asked him how the work was. The father gathered us and told us: ‘I have worked honestly, but this is how the Party sees fit. The truth will come out one day, but then I will have grass in my eyes! He especially told me that; Goni, I’m afraid you’re in a hurry. From the injustices they did to my father, my blood rushed to my head and I wanted to take the machine gun in my trunk and not allow them to take my father, but my father told me: Not like that Agron, because I don’t put a rifle against the Founder of the Party”.
This is stated, among other things, in a highly secret State Security document dated March 3, 1987, where the entire conversation of Kadri Hazbi’s second son, Agron, with one of his workmates in Kurbnesh is revealed of the district of Mirdita, where they were both interned and all that conversation between them was then sent to Ramiz Ali.
As we will see from the document in question, which is part of a voluminous file that was extracted from the Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, (now part of the Authority for the Information of Files of the former State Security), in charge of to the former Minister of the Interior, Kadri Hazbiu and his family, in addition to Agron Hazbiu’s conversations with his friend (A.M.), who has declared everything in detail to the Department of Internal Affairs of the district of Mirdita, part of the voluminous file, are also many reports and secret information with denunciations and interceptions against the Hazbiu family, which begin in October 1982, and end at the beginning of 1991.
The struggle of Enver’s closest collaborators in the high leadership of the party and the state at that time, among others, is also known from this archival document that we are publishing today in the first part of this file (which will last in ten issues ), where Agron Hazbiu, or as he is otherwise known as Agron Dautaj, (former football player of the “Dinamo” team, has confirmed to his close friends, A.M., regarding the broken engagement between his brother, Petr Hazbiu (graduated as an architect) and Enver’s daughter (also an architect), since the beginning of the 70s, which came after the intervention of Ramiz Ali and Nexhmije Hoxha.
And only 15 months later, Agron Hazbiu was found dead in the copper mine in Kurbnesh, where according to the official version, he had committed suicide by tying dynamite to his body. But was it really a suicide, or did the State Security carry out Ramiz Ali’s order (written in his own hand: “…To act”), being afraid of the son of Kadri Hazbiu, who except once in 1982, he wanted to grab the machine gun, in defense of his father, but even in exile, in a moment of anger, he even expressed himself about throwing dynamite at someone…!
Regarding this and others, we will be familiar with a number of archival documents extracted from the voluminous file in charge of former Interior Minister Kadri Hazbiu and his family, which will be published by Memorie.al.

DECISION
FOR THE PRELIMINARY PROCESSING OF AGRON KADRI HAZBIUT FOR AGITATION AND PROPAGANDA AND CONNECTION WITH THE ENEMY KADRI HAZBIUT
I, the Operative Worker, Mihal Monka effective of the Internal Affairs Branch of the Mirdita district, after studying the materials at the charge of Agron Hazbiu
I found that:
Agron Hazbiu is the son of Kadri and Hedija, born in 1959 in Tirana and a resident of the town of Kurbneshi in the district of Mirdita, with a higher education; he graduated from the Institute of Physical Culture in Tirana, comes from a family of employees, was engaged but not married to A…..S…..by decision No. 16. date 17.10. 1982, he, together with his mother and two sisters, and his brother, were interned in the city of Kurbnesh in this district, due to the pronounced hostile, conspiratorial and putschist and anti-party activities of his father, Kadri Hazbiu, recently former minister of People’s Defense, recently arrested.
B.p. “Dinamo” of the Directorate of Internal Affairs in Tirana, on 18.10.1982, informs that Agron Hazbiu had a close association with Shkëlqim Skifteri, currently a shoemaker at the “Dinamo” Sports Club. At Shkëlqim’s house, some football players of “Dinamo”, such as Agron Dautaj Hazbiu, Kujtim Çoçoli, Arben Vila and some others that the source could not learn, spent an evening listening to foreign songs on a tape recorder. This same B.p., on 8.10.1982, informs that Shkëlqim Skifteri told him that he was in the Military Hospital, where Agron Hazbiu was hospitalized, to see Arben Vila.
At the hospital, Agroni told us that; the father was fired from all the functions he had and when he went home, after they had communicated the decision, the father gathered those in the house and said: “The party fired me from all the functions I had, but you should know that I am not even an enemy nor immoral and I have not misused the official position”. Agroni said that I will work wherever I am, to wash away my father’s mistakes, that we don’t have our father as an enemy, which is a good thing for us.
On 10.1.1983, Robert M., a teacher in Kurbnesh, informs us that in November 1982, in a restaurant in the city of Kurbnesh, Agron Hazbiu met me and told me that you had a chance when you go to Tirana to meet Muhedi Targaj and Halit Gegë, who will give me a pair of pliers and a beak because I need them, and Muhedini owes me some lek. This slogan has its own suspicion that it could be a slogan to connect with its own connections in Tirana.
From the wiretapping conducted on the 2nd and 3rd of February 1983, it appears that, during all the conversations held, Agroni remains indifferent, this shows that he is protected from our wiretapping tools, and they did not speak up and neither condemn him nor they do not deny the enemy Kadri Hazbiu, which shows that they keep consideration and keep reservations, for the hostile activity of his father.
Due to the danger presented by Agron Hazbiu, as a link between the dangerous enemy of the Party and hostile expressions,

To take Agron Hazbiu into preliminary processing, for agitation and hostile propaganda, and as a link of the enemy Kadri Hazbiu, by making evident the plan of agentural-operational measures.

Currently, from the Security sector in Dega, the Agron Kadri Hazbiu facility is being followed in preliminary processing, for agitation and propaganda and as a link to the Kadri Hazbiu enemy. From our side, in order to prove his hostile activity against the Party and the People’s Power, the following budgetary and operational measures will be taken:
- His physical security will be made, through his appearance twice a day, in the Rep. 44 Kurbnesh and for any absence or departure; the Rrëshen Internal Affairs Branch will be notified, according to a special code.

JOINT OPERATIVE AGENCY FOR FOLLOWING AND CONTROLLING ENEMY LINKS KADRI HAZBIU.
In order to discover the hostile activity of the links of the enemy Kadri Hazbiu, and to have them under constant control, the Rrëshen Internal Affairs Branch and the Tirana Internal Affairs Directorate will take the following operational agency measures.
1 – TIRANA INTERNAL AFFAIRS DIRECTORATE
In the town of Kurbnesh in Mirdita, the family of the enemy Kadri Hazbiu is interned, consisting of his wife Hedija, Helena and Mimoza (daughters divorced from their husbands) workers in the construction sector, as well as the two sons, Petriti and Agroni, the first married and divorced, while the second one was engaged, both working in the Kurbnesh mine, and both were taken to PP, for agitation and propaganda from the Rrëshen Internal Affairs Branch. Both for Petrit and for Agroni, the plan of agentural-operational measures for their follow-up and processing with agency and control for reactions with T.O. in cooperation with the DPB of Puka, the plan of measures for the processing of these two elements, but also as a family and the connections they have in the district of Puka, has been made and these agency-operative measures will be taken with the DPB of Tirana.
To take the handwriting of Durim Shehu, Dhurata Iljaz Fishta, Rexhep Minxolli, Stoli Çelmeta, Shpresa Minxolli, Adelina Salillar, to be compared with the postcard with hostile content that was addressed to Eleni Çollak on the eve of the New Year 1983, and that refused to take it. Also, the handwriting of this postcard should be compared with the handwriting of Hasan Hazbiu, and with that of the “Poison” problem.

According to the giver of B.P. “Dinamo” date 18.10.1982 shows that Agron Dautaj, with some other friends (players of the “Dinamo” team) went to Shkëlqim Skifteri’s house and there they listened to foreign music on a tape recorder. For this B.P. “Dinamo” is addressed to Shkëlqim Skifteri, to clarify the relationship with Agron Dautajn, and Agron’s attitude and reactions to listening to foreign music. At the same time, to clarify who are the two members of the front who made it a problem and if they found such actions, and other times.

– DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS FALLS
- To take the manuscripts of Petri, Agron, Eleni, and Mimoza Hazbiu, and send them to the DPB of Tirana, to compare them with the anonymous letters that that directorate has, to see that they are not their possible authors.
- Every time the objects will move to Tirana, the Tirana DPB should be notified, to organize their surveillance, direct the possible agency and learn their reactions.
- To be put under internal and external postal control, and for the correspondence they will have with the connections in Tirana, the Directorate of Internal Affairs should be notified, to coordinate actions in accordance with the situations that will be created.
- Any implications that will emerge during the tapping sessions with T.O. of family members, for connections in Tirana, to be sent immediately to the Directorate of Internal Affairs.
- On the last Saturdays of every month, a day which is set by the court to bring the children Dhurata Fishta to Rrëshen, and Medin Çollaku, and Agron Aranitasi, to take measures to intercept them with T.O. in the place where they will be installed.
- After withdrawing from cooperation, the candidate R.M. in the direction of the Agron Hazbiu facility, every time he comes to Tirana to convey Agron’s orders, to be kept under surveillance in order to specify and verify those connections and places that he will visit later and report on. Through Directorate III, to clarify who is Bulja……and Eqeremi who has been working at our embassy in Paris, who have communicated on the phone with Mimoza Hazbiu, where it is about a letter that he would receive from Bulja, which Mimoza should definitely burn after reading it.
