(On the investigation of the criminal case, no. 123)
From the incriminating material of the Sarandë Department of Internal Affairs, it appears that the citizen Kasëm Çerçiz Hoxha, from the village of Markat, fled abroad, to Greece, on 29.7.1985.
To clarify this problem, the following versions are raised:
Other people may also know about the escape of Citizen Kasëm Hoxha.

Regarding the issue, I explain as follows:
I live in the village of Markat in the district of Saranda and I work as a cooperative worker. My father, Kasem Hoxha, was sentenced to ten years in prison in 1972, for hostile activity, and was released in 1982, on the occasion of amnesty. After he was released from prison, my father, Kasëm Hoxha, worked as a cooperator. I clarify that my father behaved well with us at home, and likewise with my mother, Mejdo Hoxha, he had good relations and there were no quarrels. Usually, at the end of the day, the father went to his sisters’ houses, to Bardhe Kusha and Vito Murto, where he stayed until 10:00 p.m.
I also clarify that my father, Kasem, worked in the same brigade as me. On 29.7.1985, I woke up early as usual, after I prepared my bag of bread, and that of my father, at 6 o’clock, I left for the workplace, picking onions, at the place called Kotec. As for my father, Kasem, I didn’t know where he was working that day, since we are an investment brigade, we work in different places. At 19.30 on 29.7.1985, I returned home from work and saw that my father, Kasemi, had not returned from work.
In this case, I asked my mother at home and my sister, Nderima, about my father and they told me that in the morning, he had taken the bag of bread, a shovel and the donkey, and had given them that he was going to work. We waited for him until late, but he hasn’t come back and I said he might be watering the sunflowers that are why he hasn’t come back. The next day, on July 30, 1985, at 6:00 a.m., I went to work again, picking onions. Around 7:30 that day, my mother, Mejdua, came there, bringing with her a bag of bread for my father. She asked me if I had seen her or not and I told her that I had not met her anywhere. Then she left and asked to meet her father.
I continued working and returned home at 19.30 in the evening, where in front of the shops, I met my mother and she told me that she had not found my father. After that, my sister, Nderimja, came to our house and around 11 o’clock at night on this date, our donkey had gone home alone, without even having the samari, then we went and informed the People’s Council of the village, about the fact that the father had not come home since the morning of 29.7.1985.
Question: Explain to us, witnesses, if you as a family had collected any medicinal plants, if so, what, when and what did you do with them?
Answer: Around the months of April-May 1985, we had collected a quantity of chamomile, of 10.kg. Which we sold in Livadhja. Likewise, we had collected about 18 kg. oregano, which we had sold at the Partizan store, my mother, Mejdua, while she did not receive the lek and we had the coupon at home. In the last few days, we gave the coupon to our fellow villager, Feti Zeneli, to get the money at the store.
Question: Explain to us, witness, if your father sent or received letters abroad, if so, to whom and from whom specifically?
Answer: I do not know of my father receiving or sending letters to any person overseas.
Question: Can you clarify for us as a witness, whether or not your father knew foreign languages, if so, what language did he know?
Answer: My father, while in prison, had learned to speak Greek, Russian and English well. I have heard this, when he spoke Greek with his uncle’s daughter-in-law, Evgeni Bejko, while in Russian, he spoke with his aunt’s son, Tefik Esat Mullajn, while in English, he spoke with his aunt’s daughter, Shkëndie Nazar Myrto.
Question: Explain to us, witness, with which people in the village of Markat, did your father have company?
Answer: I clarify that my father did not keep company with any person in the village, with the exception of Xelal Çami, with whom they were friends in prison and now he lives in Tirana, where my father has gone twice to meet him.
Question: Explain to us, witness, if during the month of July 1985, someone came to your house, if so, when exactly?
Answer: I remember that on 27.7.1985, after a day, my father’s cousin, Alem Hoxha, came to our house with his wife, where they stayed for a few minutes, having family conversations. Alemi was invited to the wedding of Idriz Hoxha, who was marrying his daughter. Then, my father and I went to the wedding at Idriz Hoxha’s house and stayed until 10:00 p.m., while the next day, on dt. 28.7.1985, Alem Hoxha went to his house in the village of Borahe in Saranda and we did not meet him on this date.
I read the minutes, after seeing that my statements were written correctly, I certify it with my signature. Memorie.al
