In Tirana, on dt. January 9, 1958. We, the investigators of the State Security Directorate, Irfan Shaqiri and the First Captain Ferhat Matohiti, interrogated the arrested Tuk Jakova.
The question started at 9.30 am
The question ended at 14.00
Question: In the process of January 8, 1958, you explained to us about the attempts made by the officials of the Yugoslav legation to meet through Dhora Lekë. Tell me then did you meet with the legation officials?
Answer: I, Tuk Jakova, have not personally met with senior Yugoslav officials.
Question: Then do you continue to tell us about your hostile activity after your expulsion from the party?
Answer: After a couple of weeks or so of Mita’s return from Tirana, the XX Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union opens and I began to study its materials carefully, again from the position I was in, I drew wrong conclusions. , I thought that in the light of this congress, our leadership should also reconsider its mistakes, especially on the issue of measures taken in the Party, on the issue of individual cult and on the issue of norms in the Party and on the issue of Leninist norms.
When I also read Comrade Enver’s greeting speech at the congress, where he said that; the congress has been a great school for us, I thought that finally Comrade Enver also thinks that in the light of this congress, our leadership should review the mistakes. I was expecting such a thing, time was passing but our Party was not taking such an initiative. When I saw that the matter was being delayed and there were no signs of such a thing, I came to the conclusion that; this issue is hindered by Comrade Enver, as he is not predisposed to make self-criticism and to correct the shortcomings that existed.
After a while the district conferences for the election of delegates to the III Congress began to take place. I thought again that the issue of shortcomings should not be raised in the congress, but in these intervals the Tirana Conference took place. For the Tirana Conference, I was not aware of those behind the scenes that were previously prepared, except for that day, or the day before the opening of the conference, I do not remember well Xhafer Vokshi came to my house and told me that ; had learned that some friends there in Tirana, would raise issues in the spirit of the XX Congress and since he would return to Tirana the next day, he told me that if you had any letter for the conference, I would write it and give it to him, because as he told me he was commissioned by Muhamet Demani and the latter had the opportunity to give it to the conference, I told Xhaferi, that I do not need to write a letter, but what do I have for him said at the conference or congress, I tell him myself in case I am called, he stayed a little in my house and as soon as we finished the above conversations, he left, but I do not know where.
Xhaferi had come with another friend with service, it seems to me about the newspaper issue, he had found Mita, whom he had told, he would come from home to drink a coffee and he came.
I did not know what happened at the Tirana Conference, later when the Central Committee had issued a letter to the district organizations, I found out that something had happened, a Party member named Qemal Karaj told me at the company, this on showed that; did Comrade Enver, Pëllumb Dishnica and his comrades do well, because they had risen against the Party. Then I saw in the newspaper something short, talking about the Tirana Conference.
After some time, Mita went to Tirana and Dhora had explained to him in detail about the events of the conference and that measures had been taken by the Party, expelling him from the party. As for the issues that were raised at the conference, with the exception of those things that discredit, with those main issues that were raised there, I agreed, that is, the issue of my rehabilitation, of Bedri, of Koçi Xoxa, with the issue of Leninist norms in the party, on the issue of the cult of the individual and in terms of relations with the Yugoslavs, I was in favor of such a thing, but not in that way, because without a doubt the Yugoslavs also had to be self-critical and justify the issue of intervention, in relation to on this point, I agreed with the conclusion given by Comrade Enver at the congress.
On May 24, 1957, I was taken into custody and taken to Porto Palermo, then to Kanina and later to the island of Zvernec. During this time I was constantly desperate and especially after my case was investigated in detail and I gave the letter to speak Dhora Leka, Franoja and Mita, all who knew about me, I thought that all this would clarify my position and they would prove that I was not lying to the Party, except for the details, but the main ones and the ones that weighed, I told the party.
What influenced my despair was also the family issue, which I had left in a difficult situation, I asked to be given the opportunity to live with my family, giving me the opportunity to work in the craft in whatever condition even isolation, just to help the family, but this desire was not fulfilled. Likewise the delay of meetings and correspondence with the woman, all this depressed me.

Question: During the time you were in Berat, did you go to Elbasan, when and how many times?
Answer: I did not go to Elbasan on my own initiative, but for work needs. When we arrived in Elbasan, we went straight to the combine; it was two o’clock in the afternoon. The guard told me they were gone, but the director could come back after dinner. When I got out of the combine, it rained and to protect myself, I stood at the train station. Here a young boy approached me and asked me if I was Tuk Jakova, when I asked him where he knew me, he told me that; his brother Saf Kavaja, was in the 1st Brigade.
After the rain stopped, I asked the boy who was accompanying me to Bedri Spahiu’s house and he told me. According to his stories, I went to Bedri’s house, where I also slept.
Question: When you were at Bedri Spahiu’s house, what talks did you have?
Answer: When I was told to go to Elbasan, I thought about whether or not I should meet Bedri and since I did not feel guilty about the Party, I decided to go.
At Bedri’s house, after I met Bedri and his family, an old woman came, a martyr mother, with whom we talked until late, until the old woman left, then we ate and after bread, the mother of Bedri’s wife, together with Bedri’s wife and children, they went to the next room to sleep, Bedri and I were left alone and started talking.
Speaking first, I say to Bedri: More Bedri, what was this misfortune that happened to us, Bedri said that the cause of our misfortune is Comrade Enver and not only our misfortune, but so there have been constant blows to the Party. We looked from the time of the War until Berat, as well as the blows that were done even later, we took them not by individuals, but as forums and it turned out that from the Provisional Central Committee, from the Bureau that was elected at the Labinot Conference and from the Bureau that was elected in Berat, there is no one left in the leadership except comrade Enver, while in terms of the plenum that was elected in the 1st Conference in Labinot, only comrades Enver, Hysni and Gogo remain. This we called anomalies and came to the conclusion that; the responsibility for this, weighs mainly on Comrade Enver. We discussed the issue of relations with Yugoslavia and after we both thought that these relations were useful, the issue came that in these relations, it will be the good will of both parties, because I told him that both Yugoslavs have responsibilities before the party and the country ours.
At this time, I told Bedri that the Yugoslav had told Dhorë to ask me about this matter and I answered him that way, but the Yugoslav, I told Bedri, had not found my opinion right and had said that ; this issue should be settled between the two parties, without the mediator of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
After that, I asked Bedri and said: What is the matter with Koçi Xoxa, you should know better that you were there yourself. Bedri told me; Koçi Xoxe became a victim of the situation. In those circumstances, you could not have acted otherwise than as you did. Koçi Xoxe has become a victim of the situation and his case should be reviewed, said Bedriu and he should be rehabilitated. Bedriu told me that Dhora, sent by Yugoslavia to Cveto, had come to him and asked him for his opinion regarding Koçi Xoxa, if Bedriu had material on this issue, his opinion on how he views relations with Yugoslavia.
Bedriu told me that he answered you like this: I see the relations as good, useful, for Koçi Xoxen I told him that he was a victim of the situation that I have no material on this issue, but it was published in the newspaper.
Question: Show the hostile ties with Xhafer Vokshi?
Answer: I met Xhafer Vokshi here in Tirana in January 1956, I met him at his mother (Filip)’s house. Xhaferi and Franoja have sister women, he had come there one night to visit. We talked the following things with Xhaferi that night: I told him that; why are you so desperate, Xhaferi told me that; I am very disappointed for the mistake I made that I came here in Albania, I was well there, I was lied to that the Yugoslav leadership has betrayed. I told; why do not you want to go back to Yugoslavia, since you have regretted it, he told me; I’m ashamed and I have no way back.
Question: What else was discussed with Xhaferi when you met?
Answer: Xhafer Vokshi spoke badly to me about Comrade Enver, of course he said that your blow would have come from him. I replied that; Enver has influenced my stroke. He then told me that; the words that Miladin told me when he returned from Albania to Kosovo are coming out, that Miladin allegedly told this to; I feel wrong and the Albanian people will not forgive me, that at the head of the Party I influenced the election of Comrade Enver.
This explains the blow inflicted on Koçi Xoxe. Knowing that Enver has been on good terms with Miladin, I was surprised to hear it for the first time from Xhafer Vokshi. I say, more talk in vain or Miladin really told you such a thing, he assured me that this was true, telling me to swear about it. Memorie.al
