1905 – During the Russo-Japanese War, sailors begin a rebellion in the Russian warship Potemkin. This warship was one of the largest in the Black Sea. 1917 – Born in Shkodra Prenkë Jakova, was a teacher, musician, composer and author of the first Albanian opera entitled Mrika. popular Shkodra. In 1942 he went to study clarinet at the National Academy of St. Chile in Rome, a study he completed with honors. The end of 1944 found Jakova a teacher again in Shkodra, then they took him to help with the activities of the 1st Assault Brigade in the Youth House, where Jakova was appointed in charge. In that period Prenka was arrested and held in custody for the murder of his brother while fighting against communist partisans. With the groups of amateurs, instrumentalists, soloists and the choir under his patronage, Prenka gave performances not only in Shkodra, but also in Ulcinj, Cetinje and Titograd. The work “Mrika” was the first opera in the history of Albanian musical art, which Prenk Jakova wrote in collaboration with librettist Llazar Siliqi and the famous director from Shkodra Andrea Skanjeti, which was staged at the “Migjeni” theater in Shkodra. Despite his successful artistic career, Prenka’s end would be somewhat similar to that of his executed brother, because not being able to endure the environment around him, seeing himself in a state of hopeless pessimism, he chose the path of suicide , exactly in the House of Culture in Shkodra, exactly in that institution where he had worked and written a

1980 – Itavia Flight 870 civilian plane crashes into the sea on its way from Bologna to Palermo, killing all 81 passengers on board. 1994 – Members of the Aum Shinrikyo terrorist cult release sarin gas in Matsumoto, Japan. As a result of this act, 8 people were killed and about 660 others were injured.
