Part twenty-four
Memorie.al publishes some archival documents issued by the Authority for the Information of the Files of the former State Security, where there is a voluminous file (the processing form file with 433 pages and the investigative and judicial file with 632 pages) in charge of Gjet Kadel, originating from the village of Bulshar in Oroshi of Mirdita and living in Bushnesh and Mamurras of Kurbin, former political prisoner in the communist regime of Enver Hoxha and his successor, Ramiz Alia, who spent 16 years in communist camps and prisons, as in Spaç, Burrel, etc. As we will see from the documents that are in the file in charge of Gjet Kadel, which is published for the first time by Memorie.al, the surveillance and pursuit of him began in 1957, when he was 17 years old, with the information report of the State Security officer, Fahri Kraja, (based on the data of the Security associate with the nickname “Dylli i Bardhë”, with the approval of the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kruja district, lieutenant colonel Muhedin Këxhalliu) , continued even during the period he was in camps and prisons, such as in Spaç, where after the revolt of May 1973, Gjeta was sentenced again, as he was the main ideator for raising the flag without the communist star, continuing then in the prison of Burrel, with the reports-information of the Operative Worker, Piro Nuredini, etc., about Gjeta’s conversations with other convicts of that prison, such as: Pjetër Arbnori, Daut Gumeni, Abdulla Sallaku, Spartak Ngjela, Avni Aliko, Luan Burimi , Çaush Çoku, Kapllan Resuli, Bardhosh Gjonzeneli, Bashkim Shehu, etc. The surveillance and follow-up of Gjet Kadel continued even after his release from prison in 1987, continuing until January 1991, with the collapse of the communist regime, when his file was finally closed and archived in the secret archive of the former State Security. In the same way, an important place in the said files is also occupied by letter correspondence of Gjeta and his family, with their father, Pjetër Kadeli, former soldier of the Monarchy of Zogu, who had blown up the prison cells of Internal Branch of Rrëshen on July 28, 1950, stayed for some time in the mountains on the run, and then in 1951, secretly returned to Mirdita, took his son, Gjoni, and escaped to Yugoslavia and then to the USA- es, where he stayed as a political emigrant, until the beginning of the 90s, when he returned permanently to Albania. During this period of almost 35 years since Gjet Kadeli has been followed and monitored by the State Security, a total of 33 associates of the State Security have been engaged and activated against him, who have given their reports, starting from “White Wax” in 1957, until the “Mountain Swallow” in 1990, which will be reflected in full, as they are in the relevant files.

He reports that, during the airing on October 2 and 3, 1975, he talked with Gjet Kadel. He asked him if there was any news from home and from his father, who is in the U.S.A. Gjeta answered him and said: We, from father, have constantly received letters, even now my people receive letters from him except, they cut off our money.
Next, Gjeta told him that his father had been a teacher since before the liberation, so prepared that he was respected by all of Mirdita. In 1949, after the murder of Bardhok Biba, as a result of which dozens of innocent people were shot, the father was arrested together with the grandmother, the father, who was going to be executed, for sure, broke the prison and escaped, he also took my brother with him.
I was 8 years old, but he left it to my people to take care, uncle, we had him instead of my father and I saw him for 20 years in a row. Now he is watching my children. My uncle told me that my father was very optimistic, that communism in Albania will not last long, but there will be many victims that we must bear. In the continuation of the conversation, Gjeta told him that, in Mamurras, you had a friendship with a Kosovar named Adem Hoxha, who is religious and hates this very much, I opened my heart to him and nothing came out of him”.
“DARDHA”
Task: The agent gave you the task to talk to Gjeta, because you are a person with foresight, that’s why I’m talking to you, it’s a positive thing that you have such a father who ran away and went to that side, but what what do we do, that we suffered from these, and what should we do, because our desire is not being fulfilled, because they have tightened the fight against us a lot.

He reports that, on 14/10/1975, while walking in the yard, he, together with Uran Kalakula and Gjetë Kadel, and at first got the word Gjeta, who addressed Uran: The radio drove us crazy: “Labe eagle, nana labe, pioneer lab, brave lab, i.e., only labor gave birth to men. How long will this work continue?! Why don’t you also say the Labe Party and the Labe Government or Gjet. Today, the Lebs have all the reins in their hands, for 30 years in a row, and who knows how long this dance will continue, at the expense of Albania, the one who has eaten bread for a long time with the Labes (for B.P.) knows better, answered Urani, pointed her finger at him.
He told him that; I don’t know anything about what you say, I only dealt with the press. Listen, Urani continued: Bahri Omar, who was a minister, was the son-in-law of the main leader of the Party, so after the liberation, he did not want to punish him, but Koci Xoxe did, as a result, the main leader prepared the plan and shot Koci, with all his comrades, allegedly as an agent of the Yugoslavs, but quite innocently. Gjeta continued: There will come a day when even Koçi will laugh, with these atrocities that have been committed, a shame before the world, when the facts of these Turkoshaks are published.
“DARDHA”
Assessment of the giver: This data has operational value because the convicts Uran Kalakula and Gjet Kadeli show hostile activity.
Task: Talk to Uran Kalakula and Gjet Kadel and tell them that, in terms of what you say that all the leaders are from Laberia, I think that is not the case because there are also Gegeria and Laberia, then Albania, not it is a big country that has several nations, here is a nation and they have a Party, regardless of whether we don’t like it, but however they worked for us, we are not doing anything to them because it doesn’t even help us nor do we have any strength or opportunity.

The secret document approved by the head of the Internal Affairs Branch of Burrell, with the plan-combination for sending the Security agent with the nickname “Besniku” to Gjet Kadel’s room, for his surveillance
Approved
Head of the Internal Affairs Branch Alone
P. Bajram Neli Burrel
Plan – Combination
For taking the associate “Besniku”, to the room where we have the active processing Find Kadelin
Operational Situation.
In Ward 321, we actively process as a possible agent of Yugoslav Intelligence, Gjet Kadel. Since in his room, we don’t have B.p. to process it, we think to take B.p. “Loyal”.
B.p. “Besniku” is located in room No. 6, of the 1st wing, while in room No. 5 of the first wing, there is the Gjet Kadeli processing facility, since in its direction, until today we have not had an agency in order to process it regularly, we think that by combination, through the command of Department 321, we will move B.p. “Besniku”, from room No. 6, of the 1st wing, to room No. 5, but of the I-th wing, where Gjet Kadeli is located. This B.p., has the opportunity to enter into his processing, after and when they were not in the same room, he gave in his direction.
This move will be made under the pretext of stabilizing the convicts’ rooms, according to “their request”.

Report dated 2.10.1982
He announces that, a few days ago, the radio gave the communiqué of the Ministry of the Interior, about the gang that landed on the coast. In relation to this, Hasan Tota said: “This is not true, but these people have planned it themselves, to arrest innocent people, allegedly as if they have a connection with this gang”.
Paulin Vata, said: “I know the chief bandit, not as a person, but as a family, he is from the Shkodra mountain side. Even an old man died in prison, some three years ago, named Seit Mustafa. This family is brave and patriotic. They have a great hatred against communism, and the very fact that he came from Europe and died in Albania, at the age of 36-38, showed that that is what Xhevdet Mustafa is”.
Djori Gronjoti said: “It’s not easy, accusing Yugoslavia of murder, now Yugoslavia is taking this and causing turmoil in the country.”
Tofik Dednica said: “Yugoslavia did not take these, but they came from Italy.”
Dhori stood still and said: “That Yugoslavia took them as revenge, for the accusations they made about the Kosovars. Be sure that now they will start like in 1948, when we broke with the Yugoslavs. The Yugoslavs will bring saboteurs here and they will take them there.”
Spartak Ngjela said: “It’s extraordinary that they give it on the radio because they have never given it like this”!
Daut Gumeni said: “They see that the morale of the people has dropped a lot and to raise their morale, they broadcast on the radio what they have done, they have killed 7-8 people, they think it is a good thing to kill”!
More competent, Kosta Fili came out and said: “What are you talking about, they have been denounced from the country, for boarding the submarine, if they had not been denounced, you would have caught them so hard that they entered the city or the forest, they had such a hard time”.
Regarding readiness, there were these comments; Gjetë Kadeli said: “In socialism, there are only meetings and congresses, the investigator, prisons, bans and wood.” The congress is held in Tirana, they shut us up here, fear has entered their hearts”.
Spartak Ngjela, says: “Foreign embassies find out before anyone, when the Political Bureau dismisses a minister. They used to go for a month in a row, come in front of the ministry and see who entered and who left. If someone was missing for two or three days in a row, they know that something has happened. So when Beqir Balluku was removed, they gave the news of the West, two days after they had removed him”.
Daut Gumeni said: “They have great experience and have learned a lot here with us with this job, that there is no week without ups and downs.”
“SHKËMBI”
Clarification: Spartak Ngjela and Kosta Fili are being pursued in active processing 2/A, the first for agitation and propaganda, the second as a Greek agent.
Hasan Tota, Paulin Vata, Tefik Deshnica, Dhori Grinjoti, Gjet Kadeli, Daut Gumeni, are convicted of crimes against the state, we have data in charge of them.
Evaluation: The report has operational value, it shows the reactions of these convicts for the introduction of the subversive gang in our country, as well as the hatred they have for the Party and the politics it follows.
Task: B.p., gave you the task to talk again with these convicts, regarding the introduction of the gang, as argued by the above expressions, such as: Dhori, Tefiku, Kosta, Hasani, Spartaku, etc.
To inform us, regarding the comments that will be related to the introduction of this gang, what they may know about hostile activity in favor of foreign discoveries.

He announces that the prisoners of the room were waiting for the People’s Assembly that met on dt. 28.6.1983, any reduction of sentence. There were rumors that the sentence would be reduced from 25 years to 13 years. When it ended and it did not turn out as expected, Gjet Kadeli, Bardhosh Gjonzeneli, Muho Bale, Novrua Dyrma and Çaush Çoku were the first.
Luan Burimi said: “What kindness can you expect from the main leader of the Party, who is the same as Ferit Lopa”?!
Gjet Kadeli, said: “The criminal only wants blood and tears, because in this world, they are all washed away.”
Bardhosh Gjonzeneli said: “For 40 years, the main leader of the Party drank our blood, and for 40 years, the President of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly will drink our blood.”
Muho Bala said: “We were bad when we were with Russia, we were forgiven year after year, we had plenty of bread and salt, now rejoice without Russia. In the time of Russia, the worst worker received 12 thousand lek”.
Hasan Tota was also very sad that night and after cursing several times, he lay down in bed. Then he took and wrote a letter to Minister P. Interior.
Çaush Çoku openly says that: “This work will not last long and the main leader of the Party will die and we will be released. My niece also tells me in a letter that we are waiting for you to come soon”.
Bebi Konomi said only this: “When the time comes to release the prisoners, you will not have 2 kg. food per month, but meat in Jorgo’s cauldron. And that time will come.”
“SHKËMBI”
Task: B.p. gave you the task that, in conversations with these convicts and the other convicts in the room, I would learn where this hatred of these people comes from, by whom they are driven, inspired and directed. If these convicts have a common activity between them and other convicts in the prison rooms, or outside the prison and abroad, if so, how do they achieve this, in what forms and means?!
To inform us about the hostile comments, which will be developed by the prisoners of the room, about various problems. Memorie.al
