Memorie.al/ publishes some archival documents issued by the institution of the Authority for Information of Former State Security Files, where is the voluminous file (forms, investigative and judicial), of Myrteza Bajraktari originating from Gostivar, who after finishing school high school in the city of Tetovo, in 1952, began his higher studies at the University of Skopje, in the branch of Philosophy, where in addition to teaching he was employed as a journalist in the newspaper “Flaka e Vllaznimit” published in Skopje, from where he was fired soon after he published an article openly against the displacement of Yugoslav Albanians to Turkey and, as a result, was appointed a teacher at the 7-year school “Shaban Zeneli” in Kumanovo. Myrtezai was arrested by the UDB in 1952, after he was part of a secret organization called the ‘Albanian National-Democratic Organization’, and he was sentenced to seven years in political prison, which he served in the Nis prison and Idrizovo. Escape from Yugoslavia and coming to Albania, where after staying for some time in the internment camp in Seman of Fier, he was given the right to high school, graduating from the University of Tirana in Language and Literature, but after refusing the appointment in the city of Berat, in 1971, he was arrested and sentenced to seven years in political prison, on charges of “agitation and propaganda”. His release from prison left him without a job until the fall of the communist regime and his appointment as Consul General of Albania in Switzerland, until 1993, as well as his election as Honorary President of the Albanian League in the World, for the countries of Benelux, where he worked for the cause of Kosovo, until he passed away on December 11, 2020. … .Then Estrefi tells the source: “It has been three days since Sweden; a Kosovar has come to stay for a month”. The source says: “You are completely crazy. Where do you hear these things?! Immediately”?! Estrefi was pleased and continues: “I know too. This Kosovar from Sweden has come to meet with Myrtezana in Tirana. A high school teacher in Lezha, named Ibrahim, told me about this. I met Ibrahim in Shkodra, he had been waiting for his sister who would come from Ulcinj for two days “. The source asked Estrefi: “Who is the Kosovar who comes to Albania for a month”?!
Estrefi replied: He is a friend who has lived in Albania for eight years (later corrected, in two years), with foreign citizenship. He stayed in Lushnje. The source asked him: for what reasons did he come here? Are there people here? Estrefi explains the source: “He has no people here, but he allegedly came to meet his friends. “The goal is to meet someone.”

… .When we ever go to Tirana, or he is coming here, I will meet my cousin, Myrtezana, he is a smart man, says Estrefi. The source said: “Is he like us?” Estrefi replied: “I discuss with him. I understand he’s like us, but the way we lay together, I have not lain with him. Only once made a mistake. “There were illusions about democracy.” The source asked him in what case…? On September 26, 1983, the source, together with Estref Kelmendi, went to Tirana, in order to work at the Institute of Historical Studies and meet some of Estref’s friends. On the way, Estrefi tells the source that: we will pay a visit to Myrtezai, to Selim Kelmendi in Fushë-Krujë and to Osman Rustemi in Tirana. We can also go to Ahmet Sadiku, but he is nowhere like Myrtezai, he can be compared to Hysni Shala.
On September 20, 1983, at dinner, Estrefi goes to Ahmet Sadiku. On the morning of September 21, 1983, Estrefi tells the source that just as I talk about the good things, so I will tell you about a great misfortune that has befallen us. Selim Kelmendi has been arrested. We did well not to send him a telegram that we would go, because in this situation, we should not go wrong. I’m sorry as a man, after being so good. Selimi has not been at the level of the people of our work.
To be sure that none of the people in our work have been harmed. Selim may have been introduced by a man who, on the one hand, tried to trap him and slander him. To be convinced that he was not caught as an agent, because he was not, but, for bad behavior. As for giving him ten years in prison, they will motivate him for agitation and propaganda. Selimi also went with a woman who had her parents convicted of politics in prison. We have told him several times, he is wrong.
On September 23, 1983, Estrefi went to Myrtezai and the next day, he told the source, that: our concern continues. We have two nights without sleep. Myrteza and I slept all night. He has had a close friend. Selimi has another close friend in Laç, named Dedë Berisha, who is a very good man. My reasoning for Selimi’s arrest was the same as that of Myrteza. Myrtezai went urgently to Fushë-Krujë, because Selimi’s wife called him.
When he went there, Myrtezai found only his wife and the house messy because they had been checked by the Security. Selimi was not left in Kruja prison, but was brought to Tirana prison. In Fushë-Krujë, Myrtezai had met a teacher named Nystret, a blond, very wicked man. He had told Myrteza that: Selimi had been arrested as a Yugoslav agent. Myrtezai had told him: are you also convinced that Selimi was a Yugoslav agent?!
Nustret had replied that this is how words were opened, while Myrtezai had spoken to him with contempt. I said Estrefi, I will definitely prepare, his physical disposal, although we do not have such tasks. He must disappear, because he is harmful.
