Memorie.al publishes some archival documents issued by the Authority for the Information of the Files of the former State Security, where there is a voluminous file (the processing form file with 433 pages and the investigative and judicial file with 632 pages) in charge of Gjet Kadel, originating from the village of Bulshar in Oroshi of Mirdita and living in Bushnesh and Mamurras of Kurbin, former political prisoner in the communist regime of Enver Hoxha and his successor, Ramiz Alia, who spent 16 years in communist camps and prisons, as in Spaç, Burrel, etc. As we will see from the documents that are in the file in charge of Gjet Kadel, which is published for the first time by Memorie.al, the surveillance and pursuit of him began in 1957, when he was 17 years old, with the information report of the State Security officer, Fahri Kraja, (based on the data of the Security associate with the nickname “Dylli i Bardhë”, with the approval of the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kruja district, lieutenant colonel Muhedin Këxhalliu) , continued even during the period he was in camps and prisons, such as in Spaç, where after the revolt of May 1973, Gjeta was sentenced again, as he was the main ideator for raising the flag without the communist star, continuing then in the prison of Burrel, with the reports-information of the Operative Worker, Piro Nuredini, etc., about Gjeta’s conversations with other convicts of that prison, such as: Pjetër Arbnori, Daut Gumeni, Abdulla Sallaku, Spartak Ngjela, Avni Aliko, Luan Burimi , Çaush Çoku, Kapllan Resuli, B come Gjonzeneli, Bashkim Shehu, etc. The surveillance and follow-up of Gjet Kadel continued even after his release from prison in 1987, continuing until January 1991, with the collapse of the communist regime, when his file was finally closed and archived in the secret archive of the former State Security. In the same way, an important place in the said files is also occupied by letter correspondence of Gjeta and his family, with their father, Pjetër Kadeli, former soldier of the Monarchy of Zogu, who had blown up the prison cells of Internal Branch of Rrëshen on July 28, 1950, stayed for some time in the mountains on the run, and then in 1951, secretly returned to Mirdita, took his son, Gjoni, and escaped to Yugoslavia and then to the USA- es, where he stayed as a political emigrant, until the beginning of the 90s, when he returned permanently to Albania. During this period of almost 35 years since Gjet Kadeli has been followed and monitored by the State Security, a total of 33 associates of the State Security have been engaged and activated against him, who have given their reports, starting from “White Wax” in 1957, until the “Mountain Swallow” in 1990, which will be reflected in full, as they are in the relevant files.

Report
(ABOUT GJET PJETËR KADELIN)
Gjet Pjetër Kadeli, born in 1942, born in Orosh village of Mirdita district and currently living in Mamurras.
I found out, for hostile activity, as well as why he has his father, his brother who escaped abroad, and with whom he maintained regular correspondence, as well as having an uncle in prison, Zef Kadel, sentenced to 25 years of deprivation of liberty for meeting sheltered fugitives, as well as being in exile as a family, in 1959 he was taken into operational control 2/B and this year, Gjeta was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment, for possession of weapons without a permit. Even after being released from prison, Gjeta still continues his hostile activity, so based on the data of B.p. “Mbrehia” and “Cezma e Troja”, has contacted Yugoslav drivers and shows the tendency of escaping abroad, so in 1967, it is taken into 2/A processing, this processing continues until 1970, at which time it is reduced to control operational 2/B and in 1972, it is again taken into processing 2/A, because according to the data of B.p. The “Trojan Faucet” revealed the tendency of terrorism towards the leadership of the State Party, given that, with the measures taken by us, it was confirmed once and for all with T.O., so on the basis of this data and other materials with legal force, gathered in the direction of Gjeta, in 1972, his arrest was sanctioned.
During the development of the process, Gjeta’s guilt was documented with the witnesses that he did not accept anything and he was sentenced to 10 years of deprivation of liberty and after the sentence, he was taken to serve his sentence in ward NO.— Spaç where he is still today. While serving his sentence, for agitation and propaganda, in prison, Gjeta was also sentenced to 5 years of deprivation of liberty, which, combining the two together, made 15 years.
I found, during the time he was free, in Mamurras, based on the data available at his disposal, he developed a joint activity with Nik Fran Deda, who was a fugitive in Yugoslavia and was repatriated in 1962 and was processed by this Branch as ____________________ in processing 2/A, he also kept in touch with the Yugoslav immigrant, Adem Mujo, who was processed in 2/A ________________ and through this, Gjeta tried to communicate with his father, who escaped abroad. In addition, he kept in touch with the immigrant Angjelina Sokoli, who came to our country in 1967, to her husband, Frano Sokoli, in Mamurras, ______________________.
Nik Deda and Adem Mujo, in 1973, for agitation and propaganda against the government and smuggling, were arrested by this Branch, due to the development of the process in their direction, especially Nik Deda, who has been completely analyzed in the investigation, as potential agent in the service of Yugoslav Intelligence, explains that; one of the tasks that the U.D.B. assigned to me and the tasks that the U.D.B. agency gave me later, to contact me, Angjelina Sokoli, was to work with people who are dissatisfied and affected by the government, and among them I also assigned candidates, to put them at the service of the U.D.B, so I as a suitable candidate and after I discussed them with Angjelina Sokol and this was agreed, I found Gjet Kadel, because he, through the conversations he had with me, he spoke to me against the government, and about the good life outside, so I and Angelina recruited Gjeta and he agreed to work with us.
Similarly, Nika explains that; I, together with Gjet Kadel and Angjelina Sokol, related to the work done, have sent 2 pieces of information to the Yugoslav Discovery, one through the Yugoslav embassy in Tirana, which Angjelina herself took in 1970, as this was the norm at the time at the embassy that he had made a request to be repatriated to Yugoslavia and we started the other one through the Yugoslav merchant, Gjon Karamani, Angjelina Sokol’s cousin. In this information, we have written about the bad condition of the people in the area of Mamurras, about military camps, tunnels, etc.
Regarding the placement of Gjet Kadel in the service of the U.D.B., says Nika, the immigrant Adem Mujo was also aware that he was also arrested, because Angjelina was repatriated to Yugoslavia, like me, Gjeta, Kin Basha, Skënder Berisha, that these last two were also arrested in a group, with the above as the residence of the Yugoslav Discovery, he kept us in touch and directed us for the tasks we were to perform, Adem Mujo. In addition to the depositions of Nik Deda, for Gjet Kadeli as a part of this residency, B.P. “Ardiani” in the dungeon.
For Gjet Kadeli, the arrested Adem Mujo also spoke, in these depositions, he appears only for agitation and propaganda, but not for putting him in the service of the U.D.B. While Kin Basha and Skënder Berisha have not spoken anything.
In order to confirm and document Nik Deda’s statements to the investigator, Gjet Kadel was confronted, but in the confrontation, he did not accept anything, even against the investigator of the case, he expressed himself by saying that; find these for you, as far as you ask me, I do not speak anything, I have been your enemy and I remain your enemy until the end, more than you have punished me, you will not punish me again.
Evaluating in general the materials of this process, which we have in our hands, and the problem of Gjet Kadel in this process remains unexplained and must be clarified to the end, his being an agent in the service of the Yugoslav Intelligence, from the I Branch when this problem was analyzed, we were given the task to withdraw Gjet Kadel’s file from the file that is archived and take it to the Internal Mirdita Branch, to continue its processing in prison and to be followed between the two branches, with joint plans, to coordinate actions.
In this relation, we must add that; since all the materials in charge of Gjeta have not yet been sent to us from the Investigation Branch at the Ministry, these should be collected at once and taken to the Mirdita Branch, in order to coordinate the actions, both in sending our agency, and for the measures she will take in his direction.
