Memorie.al publishes some archival documents issued by the Authority for the Information of the Files of the former State Security, where there is a voluminous file (the processing form file with 433 pages and the investigative and judicial file with 632 pages) in charge of Gjet Kadel, originating from the village of Bulshar in Oroshi of Mirdita and living in Bushnesh and Mamurras of Kurbin, former political prisoner in the communist regime of Enver Hoxha and his successor, Ramiz Alia, who spent 16 years in communist camps and prisons, as in Spaç, Burrel, etc. As we will see from the documents that are in the file in charge of Gjet Kadel, which is published for the first time by Memorie.al, the surveillance and pursuit of him began in 1957, when he was 17 years old, with the information report of the State Security officer, Fahri Kraja, (based on the data of the Security associate with the nickname “Dylli i Bardhë”, with the approval of the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kruja district, lieutenant colonel Muhedin Këxhalliu) , continued even during the period he was in camps and prisons, such as in Spaç, where after the revolt of May 1973, Gjeta was sentenced again, as he was the main ideator for raising the flag without the communist star, continuing then in the prison of Burrel, with the reports-information of the Operative Worker, Piro Nuredini, etc., about Gjeta’s conversations with other convicts of that prison, such as: Pjetër Arbnori, Daut Gumeni, Abdulla Sallaku, Spartak Ngjela, Avni Aliko, Luan Burimi , Çaush Çoku, Kapllan Resuli, B come Gjonzeneli, Bashkim Shehu, etc. The surveillance and follow-up of Gjet Kadel continued even after his release from prison in 1987, continuing until January 1991, with the collapse of the communist regime, when his file was finally closed and archived in the secret archive of the former State Security. In the same way, an important place in the said files is also occupied by letter correspondence of Gjeta and his family, with their father, Pjetër Kadeli, former soldier of the Monarchy of Zogu, who had blown up the prison cells of Internal Branch of Rrëshen on July 28, 1950, stayed for some time in the mountains on the run, and then in 1951, secretly returned to Mirdita, took his son, Gjoni, and escaped to Yugoslavia and then to the USA- es, where he stayed as a political emigrant, until the beginning of the 90s, when he returned permanently to Albania. During this period of almost 35 years since Gjet Kadeli has been followed and monitored by the State Security, a total of 33 associates of the State Security have been engaged and activated against him, who have given their reports, starting from “White Wax” in 1957, until the “Mountain Swallow” in 1990, which will be reflected in full, as they are in the relevant files.

THE WITNESS
Remembering H. Prushi
As far as I was asked about the case, I testify that: As I stated before, I have known Gjet Kadeli, originally from Mirdita, now living in Mamurras, since 1967-’68, at which time, this (Gjeta) , later lived with his family in Bushnesh.
Gjeta and I have gotten to know each other better and have been friends since February and March of the following year, introduced to me by a friend of mine, Fran Lufi, who lives in Bushnesh, and since the first introduction, Fran told me to me, Gjeta is my cousin, and Gjeta told him that I remember Kutimim as a close and loyal friend, so Gjeta from the first introduction that Fran made to me, created trust in me, also due to the fact that according to him, I was a caliber with him, he Gjeta, created this, that in 1968, I was convicted, I had high school and they did not give me suitable jobs according to the relevant education, others.
So, I, with Gjeta, from that time until the day he was arrested, we met often, I went to his house on two occasions, as a friend, and when I was interned in April 1972, on he came to work, so I got on very well with him.
In the first meeting, that is when Frani introduced me, we sat in a club in Mamurras, we had a coffee there and Gjet Kadeli, among other conversations, said to me: I addressed Frani, saying that, where is he working, Frani told him that I work as an agronomist in Borizana, that then he turned to me, I told him that I do not work, that I am in a relationship. I found that; I’m dangerous because they didn’t let me work outside, only in the cooperative.
I told him that why don’t you work in the cooperative, he told me that I don’t work because I have a wife and get ten old ALL a day and I don’t work all day for ten ALL. We didn’t wait any longer, he invited me to his house, but I gave him family reasons and didn’t go, I told him I’ll come another time.
Frani goes with Gjeta. After two or three weeks, when we were coming back from Tirana, we met Fran and Gjeta in the center of Mamurras, near the bakery, and after we said goodbye, the three of them went for a walk, and he asked Fran where he works, Fran told him that I don’t work anywhere, because I left the Cooperative of Borizana.
I found him; have you gone out, or have you been fired, Frani told him; no, I went out myself, Geta told him; no, they fired you because you had a gendarme father, Frani said no, it’s not like that, because they didn’t give me the scholarship, Gjeta said no, they gave me the scholarship because then, they needed staff, now they’re open night school and many agronomists come out, and you don’t have a place anymore, you have to work where you can, because your father, I finish working.
Ask Gjon Lufi what he has done in the cooperative (Gjon Lufi is Fran’s father), how many hours a day he works, Fran told him that, my father was a farmer and he works as a farmer, Gjeta told him that; He was a farmer, but he worked only 6 months a year, and he stayed for 6 months, now for the rest of his life, if he works, he doesn’t get as much as he got for a year, when he was private.
I don’t agree with you, Frani said, our cooperative is one of the best in the district and the incomes are the same; we even have the best conditions. I found him; when you became a communist Fran, go and ask your father how he works, until his spirit is gone and when the end comes, there is nothing at home, you have learned everything like a parrot, without going work instead of father and come we talk about it together, in the agricultural cooperative, said Gjeta, they have no bread to eat, that’s how the conversation ended that day.
After a few days of this conversation, I remember that it was March or April of 1972, I don’t remember the date and day, I met Gjeta in a cafe in Mamurras, who lived with another person, I met Gjeta and introduced me to him, telling me that he is my cousin and lives in Shpërdhet and works as a carter, he even told me his name, but I don’t remember it, I know him as a person, I see him.
Geta told that person that this is Kujtim Prushi, a friend of mine. Among other conversations, as I stated before, Gjeta said: We have a weak economy, since all the income is collected by the Central Committee, with their families; they travel abroad with their children and spend as much as they want they pay every three people, one unemployed, to know our opinion, because otherwise they don’t make it.
Only with what we take out with the prisoners alone, who knows how many millions they get, but they have all this for themselves, the workers work all day in agriculture and they only get 15 ALL, which doesn’t even come out for a day while outside, they work for a day and stay for a month, the difference is because, there everything is private.
Gjeta said that why doesn’t our government allow our workers to go abroad, especially to Yugoslavia, to see how the workers live there, but the government is afraid to take the workers there, because they see that it is a good life and from this reason, they do not return here. I told him; why are you talking like that, it’s not good to talk like this, but it’s good to look at the work, even I told him that; I will report you for what you said. I found said; go and report it if you want, no one believes you.
Gjeta continues and said that these people should be spoken to in the language of the priest of Gurëz, who slapped them in the face in front of everyone in court, although he was 70 years old and was not afraid, because before, he worked for a whole village and ate a be, whereas today, every 20 people, are greedy and eat at the expense of those 20 people, isn’t it a shame to punish a 70-year-old man, or did they kill him just because he was a priest, and these religious people are angry.
Religion doesn’t do anything, only because it cleanses the soul and makes life easier, and they removed it because the priests had direct connections with the Vatican and informed about the conditions in which people live here, this is the real reason and that it, that supposedly the leaders at the expense of the people and deceive the people.
After a few days, Gjeta invited me to his house for dinner and I went, seeing that I had not denounced what he had told me before, on the other hand, he had found that I had been called several times to the police and publicly they hated me as a disorderly person, he had not lost his trust in me, that’s why during various conversations, at this dinner, he told me that:
“We, the people with the stamp, must bond with each other and we must help him, because he does not know the future, but one thing is certain that, when Comrade Enver is removed, then we will see what kind of struggle for power will be with each other, then it will be our day and you have to see Gget Kadel, who he is and how he will take revenge.
Those of our government broke with the Soviet Union because they wanted to make Albania a garden of flowers and not to suffer in this type of communism, whose time has passed, they connected with China, which and the amnesty for the prisoners of removed, and not others. They are not playing us now because the international situation is favorable for us, because Yugoslavia protects us and if it wasn’t for her, we would have been invaded in time.
I forgot to say that Gjeta Kadeli, on several occasions, spoke to me against the government in the presence of Pjetër Lugja, even I remember that Gjeta praised the free living of workers abroad, especially in Yugoslavia and America, and said that supposedly in Albania, the workers do not live well, the peasants suffer from the cooperative system, others.
I have understood that Gjet Kadeli is really an unhappy man, he dreamed of a change in the situation in our country, in his favor, he sought with his cunning to compromise other people and chose many people who had been in prison and were without work, those with a bad biography and past, others. He is a very smart guy, has a determined character, determined for what he says and full conviction.
On the other hand, I Gjeta also saw a knife, I found that, in addition to the private work he does among different people as a carpenter, he deals with and adjusts hunting weapons, pistol cartridges and I remember that Nikol Lala, a teacher, has arrange pistol cartridges. I have also been told that a sheet of lightning that Pjetër Lugja has placed in the direction of some cadres in Mamurras, I am convinced that this was written by Gjeta.
Because, a few days before Pjetri put the thunderbolt, in my presence, Peter and Gjeta talked about such a thing, and even Gjeta told Peter, make two copies of the thunderbolt, one of these, put it in Tirana in order to see those of foreign legates, what unjustly, is done in our country.
Ever since I was introduced to Getta, on the side of Fran, I have met several times, every time I have met him, he showed me dissatisfaction and asked how and how to make me unhappy like himself. I spoke to him several times and advised him, in order for him to take the right path, but he continued his thoughts.
I learned from him that his father is on the run, abroad, etc. For some conversations, I have denounced them in writing and verbally, to the competent bodies.
For all that I said above, I am ready to tell Gjet Kadel and the people who were present in our conversations in the face-to-face and wherever./Memorie.al
