The documentary The Spaçi Revolt is dedicated to the far-off 1973 event, when political prisoners serving a sentence in the Spaç camp for three days (May 21-23) set off on a massive political revolt, clashed with prison police and numerous military and police forces that came to reinforce neighboring districts with Mirdita as well as Tirana. This well-known event (mainly after the 90s), which at that time shook the communist regime’s foundations and caused panic in senior communist leadership in Tirana.
