– China, the 20th Congress of its Communist Party and President Xi Jinping, between Mao and Enver Hoxha –
Memorie.al / In the largest country in the world, with a history both ancient and contributing to world civilization, in the People’s Republic of China with almost 1.5 billion inhabitants, the 20th Jubilee Congress of the Chinese Communist Party has just been held, which with its 100 million members (96 million to be exact), it is the largest communist party of our time on the globe! Going back a few decades ago, we cannot help but remember another historic XX Congress, that of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, held from February 14 to 26, 1956, a congress in which Soviet leader Nikita Sejgerevich Khrushchev, on his penultimate day, the morning of February 25, held the secret report on Stalin’s ‘Cult of the Individual’ and its consequences.
In the hall full of Stalinist delegates, of the Great Palace in the Kremlin, in front of 1,436 delegates, without a doubt, Nikita Khrushchev showed great courage by exposing the terrible crimes of Joseph Visaranovich Stalin!
Of course, no one expected this to happen in October 2022, in the giant hall of the Great People’s Assembly in Beijing, in front of 2,300 delegates, when the leader of the party and state, Xi Jinping, delivered the 100-minute report to the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China, where not only was the cult of Mao Zedong not criticized, but his legacy was preserved, even to the extent that even President Xi, who after two mandates of 5 years each, had to be replaced, with a preliminary change of the statuary-constitutional mechanism, re-election for a third term was decided, or rather, like Chairman Mao, to remain president for life!
In summary, here are the top seven dignitaries elected by this Congress as members of the leadership dome, according to traditional hierarchy, protocol and ceremonial in Communist China:
1 – Xi Jinping – 69 years old. He was born on June 15, 1953 in Beijing. The first wife from 1979, Ke Lingling, with whom they soon divorced, in 1982, was the daughter of the Chinese ambassador to Great Britain.
In 1987, Xi married Peng Liyuan, a famous singer and MP, with whom they have a daughter, Xi Mingze, nicknamed Xiao Muzi…!
Graduated in chemical engineering from the famous Tsinghua University in Beijing, he is also a Doctor of Science in Law!
Xi was part of the group of “spoiled, red princes”, known as “Taizi”, where the children and grandchildren of the veterans of the Great March and the historic victory of 1949 entered, since October 1 from “Tien” Square An Men” Mao Zedong, declared China, People’s Republic!
His father, Xi Zhongxun, veteran, former senior official, chief of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, was severely beaten during the Proletarian Cultural Revolution and, together with his wife, was sentenced to death, a sentence that was not executed, but turned into life imprisonment!
Xi, after that, is sent to re-education for 7 years, from where he also learns that one of the sisters, Xi Heping, had killed herself under the terror of the ‘Red Guards’, who were waving the book with red covers, of Mao’s quotes Cedunit!
He also has two other sisters and two brothers; this is a rare thing for Chinese families, with 1 or many 2 children! Later, his father was rehabilitated by the famous Teng Hsiaoping and played a major role in the reformation and galloping development of the Chinese economy!
Xi Jinping, already started climbing the ladder in the party and power, until he arrived as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee and Vice President, i.e. number 2 after Hu Jintao, the head of the party and state for two terms in a row, who promoted him with priority, to the top of power!
The fact remains interesting that Xi, for several years, was the chief of staff of Gen Biao, (1909-2000) Minister of Defense and General Secretary of the Military Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, whom Albanians know well. as Ambassador of China in Tirana, which showed the importance that the People’s Republic of China gave to relations with Albania.
Let us now return to the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China. Xi mentioned the words “defense” and “security” 73 times in the report, warning of a “spiritual battle” against external challenges, and the strengthening of the homogeneous centralized nationalist party and state, which rules in all areas, which according to him for China , “intense darkness”, “high waves” and “dangerous storms” are expected!
He declared that the Chinese state cannot be imagined without the great role of the Communist Party of China and that the Party itself would not be able to expect victory and success without him at the head?! He proposes a strategic shift from the line of Deng Hsiaoping, who kept China’s “low profile” in international relations, openly displaying the expansionist and hegemonic ambitions of current China, while giving Deng great credit for deep economic reforms. , which today makes China the second superpower in the world with a GDP over $20 trillion, after the USA with a GDP over $25 trillion!
The pace of China’s economic development has fallen significantly recently, but not the expenses for the army and its modernization, which is evident in the economic expansion that it has undertaken in all continents, where the aim for complete mastery in the Sea of South China, through the drastic increase in the presence of the Naval War Fleet and the construction of artificial islands, which can also serve as military bases tomorrow!
For Taiwan, Xi declared, that it cannot even be thought that there will be compromises and concessions, even, he did not rule out the invasion by force of arms, if this was imposed on China!
Not a word about the Wuhan Covid-19 that caused about 7 million deaths in the world and also, not a word about the aggression and massacres of the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, in Ukraine, where even hundreds of children are killed?!
In the end, the Congress elected the new 200-member Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the 25-member Politburo, and the 7-member (none female) Politburo Standing Committee, with Xi Jinping at the helm as General Secretary of the Party, President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Chairman of the Military Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China! The Congress ended with a serious incident, surprisingly, passed lightly by world politics and foreign media!
From the congress stand, where he was only 50 cm. at his side, Xi ordered two Public Security agents to forcefully remove former President and Party Leader for 10 years, Hu Jintao, one of whom, the minimum of forced as a career promoter to climb to the top of all powers in China?!
Only in the late evening of that night, was found with typical Chinese naivety, but embarrassing, the usual excuse of the HSINHUA news agency, that Hu Jintao was not feeling well (that’s why he was forcibly removed from the Congress hall.. .?!
Typical ingratitude of communists in the 100-year history of the Communist Party of China, which, at least in Albanians, we know well, from history, when in almost 45 years, the Stalinist dictator Enver Hoxha, applied to the vast majority of friends, associates and close associates, from Koçi Xoxe to Mehmet Shehu, (who committed suicide) and Kadri Hazbiu at the end!
Hoxha ordered the forced sitting at the end of the Plenum hall at the headquarters of the PPSh Central Committee (where the infamous plenums were held) of those unlucky, who would be tried by the Party, despite the fact that they were still members of the Political Bureau and they had to stand on the podium!
After they were expelled from the Bureau and the Central Committee, in the hall they were also expelled from the party, right, that belonged only to the basic organization of the party?! At the door of the Plenum hall, the Party’s membership card was taken from the Director of the Statute in the Central Committee Apparatus and as soon as they came out, they were arrested and handcuffed by two young and powerful officers of the State Security, of course without any mandate from the Prosecutor General!
This practice was alienated by Stalin, but since we are in China also by Mao, who had acted in this way with a number of officials and senior leaders, starting with Marshal Pin Dehuaj, Peng Chen, Liu Shaochi, Lin Biao, as well as others after of Mao’s death (09.09.1976), with the “Gang of Four”, such as: Van Hunwen, Chan Chunqiao, Qian Chin and Yao Wenjuan, as well as Chen Potá, etc., etc., just as, even though they were in deep old age, they overshadowed Chu Enlai, Teng Hsiaoping, Chu De, Dun Bi U, Sun Chin Lin, Kang Shen, Chen Ji, etc., etc.!
President Xi, who himself once suffered the severe punishment of his parents, but also his 7 years of forced labor, should not for any reason imitate his predecessor, Mao, or our Enver!
The other six, coming after President Xi, are:
2 – Li Qiang, 63 years old, Secretary of the Communist Party of China, for Shanghai, former Chief of Staff of the President. Xi, when he led the province of Zhejiang, with 65 million inhabitants and 101,800 km.2, with the capital – Hangzhou.
Li Qiang is thought to be the next prime minister of China, while the current Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, is expected to have the enigmatic fate of the former president, Hu Jintao!
3 – Zhao Leji, 65, is tipped to lead China’s National People’s Assembly. Known for the fight against corruption and as the chairman of the Discipline Commission in the Party.
4 – Wang Huing, 67 years old, professor and ideologue of neo-authoritarianism.
5 – Cao Qi, 66 years old. At the head of the Party Secretariat, but also the head of the Communist Party for Beijing!
6 – Ding Xiexiang, 60 years old. Chief Cabinet of President Xi!
7 – Li Xi, 66, Party Secretary of Guangdong Province.
Chief of the War on Corruption, Chief of Mao’s Yan’an Party (where President Xi spent 7 years of forced labor) and close to President Xi’s family!
Li, known for his successful leadership in the economy and technology (as you can see, the average age of the senior leadership is over 65 and they are all known part of the re-elected president’s entourage)?!
The history of communist Albania’s relations with the People’s Republic of China began after it was proclaimed the People’s Republic on October 1, 1949, and Enver Hoxha and Mehmet Shehu were received by Mao Zedong in Beijing in 1956, but those relations took a further development. great after the breakup of official Tirana with the Soviet Union in 1961 and for a whole decade, they went on the rise, even Chinese aid, in all fields, including the army, is estimated to have gone up to $10 billion!
Even communist Albania helped in the acceptance of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations Organization (Albanian Resolution), as well as allowed for years, the navigation of the Chinese commercial fleet in the seas and oceans, with the Albanian flag! Also in the territory of Albania, China set up powerful radio stations to spread its propaganda, so much so that the Western press labeled Albania as “Little China of the Balkans”!
The “fraternal” relations between the two countries became cold after the American President Nixon and the Secretary of State, Kissinger, visited China in 1972?!
In the delirium of greatness and protagonism, Enver Hoxha with his paranoia, had to dictate to China and Mao, after whose death, just like with the Yugoslav “brothers” in 1948 and the Soviet “brothers” in 1961 -in, broke even with the Chinese “brothers”, finally severing friendly and official relations in July 1978, when China withdrew all its specialists, civil and military, from Albania?!
Today’s China is undoubtedly a superpower. It has its own policies, strategies and tactics. It is not difficult to understand that China really does not want a strong Russia, because it calculates rivalry only with the USA, but intends to use Russia to weaken America even a little!
Vladimir Putin expected a different attitude from China for the barbaric aggression he undertook against Ukraine, but China is neither Iran nor Belarus, nor North Korea! Its compromise in this aggression, condemned by about 150 countries in the UN, would have high costs for politics, why not the economy and Chinese investments in the world!
On the other hand, Albania cannot and must never accept China’s absurd and unmotivated pro-Serbian and anti-Kosovo independence stance! Memorie.al
