At the time of his arrest, on June 21, 1973, by the State Security bodies, of the Internal Affairs Branch of the Saranda district, some “compromising materials”, such as poems and tracts, were found in his house , where he called “for the overthrow of popular power”, etc. The file in charge of the citizen Kaso Hoxha, (now de-classified) begins with the processing, where the State Security bodies and the Department of Internal Affairs of the district of Saranda make every effort to find the author of the letter. with deep hostile content”, which was thrown in the center of Markat village (with residents of the Cham community), where after a long time, with the help of the Central Criminal Laboratory, near the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tirana, it became possible, in order to clarify and identify that the writing on that letter was Kaso Hoxha’s, this also led to his arrest. The file in question continues with the investigative and judicial process against him, where he, after suffering ten years in Spaçi prison, in November 1982 returns to his native village, Markat, where from the first days, he was followed and monitored. by the bodies of the State Security, who had engaged not only some associates of the Security, but also his close family members, this forced Kaso, to escape arrest, to escape from Albania, crossing the state border, to the state neighbors, Greece. After some time staying in the Llavros Camp, he gained the status of a political asylum seeker, to go to the United States of America, where even there, he continued to be followed and monitored by the State Security bodies (Albanian Political Intelligence, which was camouflaged with his residency, near the Diplomatic Mission in the United Nations Organization) and some of its secret agents, until 1991, when the communist regime in Albania collapsed. The story of Kaso Hoxha, became known after the publication of his book “Beautiful land, ugly people”, which he entrusted to Memorie.al in manuscript, now comes through the documents of the State Security, (where they are, reports of collaborators of the State Security, with their pseudonyms, letters, notes, information, relations, report-information, interceptions with operational techniques, etc., of the officers of the State Security, investigators, holders of the Department of Internal Affairs, of the district of Saranda, etc., to the residency of Political Intelligence in the USA, and its agents there), which begin in 1973 and end in 1991, when his file was archived once and for all.

The source announces that on 19.4.73, around 7:30 p.m., he met Kaso Hoxha near the Culture Hall in the village and after they greeted each other, he told him that since he was going home, I was coming too.
Walking along the road, he said to Kaso that I wanted to talk to you a little and at the same time, they returned to his house, where they stopped at the end of the yard and talked.
He opened the conversation first, telling Kaso that I have a problem that I can’t talk to anyone, so I want to tell you that I have mine and I want the best for you. Some time ago I found an anonymous letter, which was written against Enver Hoxha and boasted about Teme Sejko and other gossip.
After I read this letter and it seemed to me that it was your writing, I took it and tore it. Now that so much time has passed, I can’t take it anymore and decided to tell you, don’t do anything stupid.
Kasua told him that you made a mistake by tearing up the letter and the second one by not handing it in, that the government publishes the writing of whose it is that with the means it has, they did the expertise and published it. Was it not you, fearing that it was not my writing and to prove it, you took something and the pad from my pocket?!
He told him that I didn’t take it and he swore on the heads of the boys, and then asked him: when did you lose the block. Kasua told him that I lost money a month ago.
He told him that; I found the letter in June on the school steps. Kasua told him why you tore the letter, that you had to hand it over and if you didn’t tear it up, let’s hand it over, that you made a mistake that, when you found it, after you doubted my writing, you told me and then we delivered the letter.

I, Halit Kardhashi, an investigator in the Internal Affairs Department of Saranda, with the participation of the District Assistant Prosecutor, Llambi Kule, interrogated the defendant Kaso Çerçiz Hoxha to inform him of the accusation.
Question: Did you hear and understand the charge, if so do you accept it?!
Answer: I heard the accusation, I understand it, and I accept it. It is true that I have carried out hostile activities against the people’s power. In the month of May 1972, I wrote a letter with a hostile content, and dropped it in my village Markat, to see what attitude the people who found it would have.
Question: Do you remember the defendant, what was the content of the letter you wrote and threw in the center of Markati?!
Answer: Regarding the content of the letter, I don’t remember it well textually, but I remember that, among other things, I wrote “Down with PPSH”, “Down with Enver Hoxha”. These were the most important expressions, while the others were not important.
Question: What compelled you, the defendant, to write a letter with such deep hostile content?!
Answer: I, Kasemi, decided to write this letter with hostile content and throw it on the street, to see what attitude would be taken by the people who would find it.
After the process was read to me, and I saw that my words were written correctly, I signed it.

I, Halit Kardhashi, investigator at D.P.B. of Saranda, I interrogated the defendant Kasem Çerçiz Hoxha.
Question: Defendant, explain to us how the truth is about the letter that you wrote and threw in the center of Markat village?!
Answer: I am Kasemi, until now, I have lied to you and I have not told you the truth about the letter I wrote and dropped in the center of Markat village. The truth is not as I have said before, but for the truth I will give explanations as follows.
I Kasemi, since February 1972, I have bought a radio, since until this time I did not have one. From that moment on, apart from the Tirana station, I also listened to foreign stations that broadcast programs in the Albanian language, especially Radio Moscow.
I caught this station two months after I bought the radio and started listening to it regularly, whenever I was at home, during the hours when she spoke Albanian. Likewise, I have listened from time to time to Radio Prishtina, “Voice of America”, etc.
In the broadcasts of Radio Moscow, they talked very badly about the leadership of the Party and the Government in our country, that the ALP is on the wrong path, and called on our people to rise up in the war against it. At the same time, Moscow exalted the Marxist-Leninist path followed by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
Being faced with such propaganda, I, Kasemi, began to have sympathy for these shows; I thought that Radio Moscow was telling the truth, and that I created doubts about the attitude of our Party. That she walked on the wrong path, and that she had opposed Marxism to Leninism, and that she did not work for the good of the people, in a word, I began to hate the Party of Power and become dissatisfied with their policy.
Taking this into account, on the other hand, since I myself saw that many injustices were being done in the village, in order to contribute to the fight against the people’s power, to cause panic in the people, and on the other hand, people who did not they looked favorably on this government, to raise your hopes, that the enemy is still active in Markat village, I decided to write the letter with hostile content and throw it in the center of the village.
By doing such a thing, I expressed my desire, as I was now put in a hostile position with the Party and the Government. I had written the letter that I dropped in the center of the village one day when I was at home. That same day, the mother and the wife were at home, but they were doing the housework, while I was in the room upstairs.
After I wrote it a day later, I threw it in the designated place. In writing the letter I thought that regardless of whose hands it fell into, it would be read by one or more people. As for the content of the letter, I was generally inspired by the broadcasts of Radio Moscow.
I, Kasemi, despite seeing that this letter was found by the head of the sector, Rexhep Rexho, and he would probably submit it to the competent authorities, I did not think that it would be revealed that I had committed it, because even while writing it, I tried to change the writing a little.
