Myrtezai was arrested by the UDB in 1952, after he was part of a secret organization called the ‘Albanian National-Democratic Organization’, and he was sentenced to seven years in political prison, which he served in the Nis prison and Idrizovo. Escape from Yugoslavia and coming to Albania, where after staying for some time in the internment camp in Seman of Fier, he was given the right to high school, graduating from the University of Tirana in Language and Literature, but after refusing the appointment in the city of Berat, in 1971, he was arrested and sentenced to seven years in political prison, on charges of “agitation and propaganda”. His release from prison left him without a job until the fall of the communist regime and his appointment as Consul General of Albania in Switzerland, until 1993, as well as his election as Honorary President of the Albanian League in the World, for the countries of Benelux, where he worked for the cause of Kosovo, until he passed away on December 11, 2020. … During the conversations, Shefqeti spoke to him about Selimi, telling him that he had a close friend, Myrteza Bajraktari. When Myrtezai was arrested, Selimi and a group of friends sent Myrtezai’s wife 600 lek per month until he was released.
Similarly, Selimi refused to testify against Myrteza, despite the threats they made, but Selimi and I were impressed that, after the trial, an officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in charge of Kosovo, Skënder Backa, met Selimi and thanked him for his manly attitude and said: “Kosovars, it is a shame to be a witness to Kosovars.”
We, continued Shefqeti, had close friendship with Rustem Gjata (me and Selimi), who is now in the Supreme Court, Rustem spoke respectfully to us about Skënder Backa and told us that he was released, for health reasons, that he would he was sent as ambassador to several states, but the states did not accept him. The source informs that on April 14, 1984, when Shefqet Kelmendi was questioned in the dungeon about the investigation, he answered that: the investigator came to me at the envelope I was receiving at the border. Shefqeti said: if you see that problems have arisen, or arise, better answer correctly.
Continuing the conversation, Shefqeti told him that: I also have a good relationship with the investigator and I have no interest in ruining them, but to resist, I will resist. Today he asked me again about Selim’s friends and my friends and about the meeting place.
I spoke a little about my friends, and about the meeting place I gave the first answer “in the car”, but the investigator did not accept. I see that for friends, I will be forced to speak. So for Namik Luca, I will tell the truth that he is arrested and he will also speak.
I will explain that after I took office from Qamil Muhaxhiri and Ramizi, I went to Namik’s house and talked. Namik, when he learned that Selimi also agreed, agreed. We have met several times and decided to terrorize the main Party leader and the embassy.
Namik was unhappy, on all sides and showed willingness, but we were not able to do anything. Even for Estrefi, I will give some explanations, although I have said some things to him, but I will admit that I have communicated his tasks and that together we have made efforts.
I have a bad job for Myrteza Bajaraktari, in fact Myrtezai was unhappy, but I rarely met him. Selimi met him more because he had a close friend and Selimi told me that Myrtezai, agrees with the tasks and is ready to cooperate with us.
The investigator also asked me about Kristina Palin. In fact, Kristina talked to Selimi about escaping and spoke openly against the Party and the state. If Selimi told her to do this job, even if she shot the leader with a weapon, she would do it, but I do not know how to talk to Selimi about this job, right?!
I will admit that she only agitated against the Party and the state. For others, to give explanations Selimi, yes there were. He said: What about Bardhyl, did he ask you? Shefqeti replied that, no. At first they asked, but not now, ishalla escapes because he is a man with troubles.
On April 15, 1984, when he returned from the investigation, Shefqeti told him that: the investigator asked me and took four minutes: For Ramiz, for Namik, for Kristina and last for Myrtezai.
I gave explanations and the investigator remained somewhat pleased but told me he explains briefly and I actually, briefly tried to speak. For Ramiz, I spoke at length, mentioning what I remembered and the others, I tried to protect them, but I have nothing to do with them.
When I speak for myself, I will not even ask too much about others. The most frugal I told was about Kristina and Myrtezain. Let Selimi talk about them, because he was closest to them. If he defended them, they will not be arrested, or else they will be arrested.
Shefqeti said: I often miss the year 1973, and in one case, the investigator asked me: is 1973 related to the start of the activity? I denied it. We talked about terror in the summer of 1982 and left it to carry out the terror at the inauguration of the Skanderbeg Museum in Kruja, on January 17, 1983.

In one case, Shefqeti asked him: Did the UDB organize economic sabotage? He said yes. Shefqeti further explained that in the village of Shën-Koll of Lezha, there is a stable for raising horses. Two or three years ago, many horses were poisoned and it was not clear what the cause was.
In fact, some people were convicted of negligence and fined millions of ALL. The horses hit a stone on the head and died. It was not determined what the cause was, but some poisoning must have been. He said: maybe it’s our hand. Shefqeti said: he can, he does not know.

The source, according to the order he had, on 24.12.1983, went to visit the house of Myrteza Bajraktari. There he found another woman, whom Myrtezai introduced to him, that she was Aishe Shima, with a job as a secretary in the District Court.
Myrtezai told her that: with this we were together in that beautiful place (it was about Semani, where the source with Myrtezana, were interned), then Myrtezai went on to tell about their internment in Seman of Fier, saying that : before leaving the camp, General Nevzat Haznedari went there with the former Branch President, Abedin Tajari.
They had a meeting with the remaining Kosovars, Nevzati told them that the camp would be demolished, who is for school to continue, who is for work, he would be given a job and so, they took us to Çermë of Lushnja. A Kosovar named Musa Bërdyna, who was suffering from a nervous system, got up and said: “So far, you have told us Yugoslav, now tell us Kosovar brothers, school was what we did here for eight years, now let us go in our country”.
