Myrtezai was arrested by the UDB in 1952, after he was part of a secret organization called the ‘Albanian National-Democratic Organization’, and he was sentenced to seven years in political prison, which he served in the Nis prison and Idrizovo. Escape from Yugoslavia and coming to Albania, where after staying for some time in the internment camp in Seman of Fier, he was given the right to high school, graduating from the University of Tirana in Language and Literature, but after refusing the appointment in the city of Berat, in 1971, he was arrested and sentenced to seven years in political prison, on charges of “agitation and propaganda”. His release from prison left him without a job until the fall of the communist regime and his appointment as Consul General of Albania in Switzerland, until 1993, as well as his election as Honorary President of the Albanian League in the World, for the countries of Benelux, where he worked for the cause of Kosovo, until he passed away on December 11, 2020. The source informs that on 16.4.1979, he met with Myrteza Bajraktari in the house of the latter, where Idriz Lleshi was also going. He saw a sculpture at home and asked who it belonged to. Myrtezai, told him that it is mine and Muntaz Dhrami forgave me as a gift, as a sign of remembrance as a Kosovar patriot that I am.

The source on duty met with Myrteza Bajraktar on 9.2.1980, in the restaurant “Arbëria”, where the following conversation took place: Regarding the events and the situation in Yugoslavia, Myrtezai told him that “the devil with one leg” is not long because of Tito’s age, and one of his brothers has died in the same way. Yugoslavia is on alert No.1. He is making many arrests of pro-Soviets and the same thing is happening in Kosovo.
He asked him how it was with Xhemal, Myrteza’s brother. A week ago, he said, I got on the phone and my wife came out and told me that Xhemali was hospitalized. I do not like this because it is a danger to him. I recently learned that Xhemali would be appointed attaché to the US. During the conversation Myrtezai told me that his daughter had returned from the US after receiving her degree.
