Tirana
According to information sent by the Pogradec Department of Internal Affairs, it turns out that some athletes who were in Turkey smuggled and were caught with such devices at the Qafe Thana Customs, at the time they returned.
On 30.10.1982, during the control in the Customs, it was ascertained that in general the athletes of the two National teams, the adults and “Shpresa”, had brought items above the norm, but the most typical are:
- Ali Kastrati, masseur of the National team and the Sports Club “Partizani”.
The value of its amounts brought from Turkey, amounts to 6,066 ALL. For this, the customs control suspected and asked for explanations, with what he had managed to buy this amount of goods for a while.
Citizen Ali Kastrati stated that: “I bought some of the items with the diets I had, while the rest of the items I bought with about 6,000 lira, which were given to me by a Turkish citizen named Barush Yhrrel, who has also been to Albania, I did not know this person. This person, in addition to 6,000 liras, gave me like fish, also 2,000 liras, four women’s shirts and two men’s shirts, these items and liras; I took them alone, without having any teammate”.
- Arjan Bimo, football player of the Sports Club “17 November”.
He was wearing trousers, two or three acrylic youth t-shirts and several pairs of swimsuits. Before the physical examination, he had stated that; I have no other items than what I have stated. The above items were considered smuggled; therefore it was confiscated and fined in the amount of 397 ALL.
- Halim Durimi, football player of the “Shkëndija” team.
During customs operations, they found polyester T-shirts, three pieces, gas lighter, four pieces, chain (pendant) two pieces, women’s rings three pieces and a pair of men’s shoes. These items were confiscated and Halim Durimi was fined 705 ALL.
- Petro Ruci, football player of the “Flamurtari” team
After evaluating the items he had declared and after being asked if he had forgotten anything without declaring, he said that; no.
After the indicator was used and the signal was given, a physical examination was performed and three women’s pendants and a men’s watch were found, which during the control he tried to give to a friend who was close to him.
These items were considered smuggled and Petro Ruci was fined 705 ALL.
We are of the opinion that the above problems should be analyzed by the clubs and the Ministry of Education and Culture, in order to take the necessary measures. Memorie.al
