Memorie.al publishes a voluminous archival file issued by the institution of the Authority for Information of Former State Security Files, where there are hundreds of documents with the logo “Top secret” belonging to the former political prisoner, Xhavit Qesja, originally from the city of Kruja, whose family during the period of occupation of the country, 1939-1944, was closely associated with the Anti-Fascist Movement, being one of its main bases and made available all the wealth it had, as Xhavit was one of the first members of the Albanian Communist Party for the Kruja district, leading the Kruja-Ishëm partisan battalion and the 22nd Assault Brigade. Xhavit Qese’s political career after the end of the War, where he was appointed and served in senior positions in the Albanian Army, the apparatus of the Central Committee of the ALP, and several districts of the country, from where he was sent to study in the Soviet Union, where remained until 1957, when he was announced to return to Albania urgently, after openly expressing his views in favor of the political line being pursued by the main Kremlin leader, Nikita Khrushchev, condemning the Stalin cult. Enver Hoxha’s conversation with Xhavit Qesen in his office in the Central Committee, where he sharply criticized him for the wrong views he had shown during his studies in Moscow, urging him to reflect and make self-criticism, but Xhavit rejected the suggestion of the first secretary of the Albanian Labor Party, which caused him to no longer be allowed to go to the Soviet Union to complete his studies, but to be sent to work as deputy chairman of the Elbasan Executive Committee, from where a year later, he was expelled from the Party and exiled to Zvërnec Island, where the communist regime kept isolated some of the former senior party and state cadres whom he had condemned for their anti-party views. Xhavit Qes’ long ordeal and persecution from 1957 to 1990, where he spent a full 32 years in prison and internment, being one of the few Burrel prison convicts to go on long hunger strikes in protest of the treatment and savage attitude of the communist regime of Enver Hoxha towards him. The complete form, investigative and judicial file in charge of Xhavit Qeses, which is published for the first time by Memorie.al, which contains the documents of the former State Security that reflect the prosecution and wiretapping against him, the reports of Security collaborators with pseudonyms their correspondence with the letters he sent to the highest party and state instances, as well as the highest leaders of the ALP, until 1991 when he was released from prison!

Speaking to me about his wife’s premonitions, he told me that if I had listened to the woman, who told me not to go out for a walk during the Tirana Conference, I would not be in Zvërenec. I asked him: Are you accused of the Tirana Conference? “Yes,” he told me, “because I talked to Ihsan Budo, who was the delegate, at the end of the Conference and nothing else. ”But they certainly doubt that the Conference was not organized,” he added, repeating “nothing, nothing” and recalling the woman’s advice.
Peço Fidhi, is a talkative element that has hemorrhoids at the top of his mouth, gossiping all day and taking people by the mouth. It’s very easy on the mind, think, this one is over for Materialist Philosophy, and yet all day long he sits fortune-telling with letters and believes in fortune-telling, after saying that his wife, an archer, had found many things by fortune-telling. From his conversations, songs and behaviors, he gives the impression that he is Greek and not Albanian. It melts when the conversation about Greece opens. Every day, after listening to Radio Corfu, he says: He sings Greek songs, on the tip of his tongue he talks about the good behavior of the Greeks with Albania in 1940. The Greek mania goes to the point of stupidity, when he says: “Greek civilization does not have been achieved today in any other country in the world. As it seems to be a tradition, after he told us that one of his family members had been interned in the time of Zog, as a philologist and when the Greek soldiers entered Gjirokastra, he had just boarded the Çerçiz Square: “Zito more, se plasa ”!
In conversations and irony there have been overt anti-Soviet displays, for example, he said: when we talked about love and family in the Soviet Union, it is better not to have a family than to be like Soviet families. It often tells the story of corrupt Soviet girls. Speaking about divorces in Albania in the darkest colors, he said: “This is a process that cannot be stopped in Leningrad. “Especially in Leningrad they were full of divorce announcements.” For Soviet literature, he says: excluding some major novels, others do not attract you, start with factory chimneys. Even our publications do not make any dues (except for the novel by Petro Marcos). Every time we mentioned the names of our writers, or University staff, they were all given the same name: “Donkey”, “Shit”, “Dallkauk”, “Servil”, and what they do not say!
Speaking of jet planes, after I told him how fuels can burn benzene, he said, “Ahh benzene, do you know that pilot cars do not use benzene, but benzene. They also have different petrol, you do not know these, because you were inside, but it is better that you do not know, just do not be surprised when you hear them. Regarding the suicide of Mynyr Kokalari, he said that he killed him…..and now the man of the world is in the Politburo”!
He discusses in a scandalous way the cases of divorces in the leaders, for example, that of Jorgjie Premti, Haxhi Lleshi, Myslym Peza, etc., emphasizing that the measures against divorces cannot have effect when they do not start from the top. He also exaggerates by talking about the fabulous life that those who had “Blocks” had at the time of the triskas. From the day they returned from Vlora, where according to him I was questioned about the Tirana Conference, there is a certain cooling between Peço and Pëllumbi, both of whom are very alarmed.
On October 13, Peço came running, yellow wax, and after talking to Pellumbi, he said: “Bad sign, the prison car is coming, someone is being arrested by us, of course me.” When asked by Gjovalini: “exactly why you”, he said: Because I know in what mold they wanted to take me to Vlora when they asked me. They stayed under this tension until it got dark and when they asked the person in charge of the guard what that car was, it was the car cinema that had come to give a show in the village of Zvërnec. Qesja stays very calm, sober and rarely participates in talks, being very reserved. Only these cases have occurred.
Speaking about the Party school in Moscow, he accused of dogmatism, saying: “Only from Professor Denizov could you learn something new, from other professors, nothing more. Denizov said that everyone should have their own personality, to express their opinion on a given issue, regardless of how others may think. Xhavit also participates with Peço, in cases of immorality in the Soviet Union: “For me it is dirty and not communist, for a girl to see the position of marriage, as happens in the Soviet Union.”
He told us how, together with the secretary of the Circular party who was studying at school, he went out to meet two girls, how he made fun of them…..! Talking to Peço about the Finnish and Hungarian furniture that Vasil Nathanaili and Mihal Prifti once bought, he said: “This is degeneration”. One day he said that in Tirana, there are more prostitutes and illegal brothels than in Zog’s time. Speaking about the cadres, he said: the private tears a lot. The staff does not use even half of the working time, they have economic problems, who thinks about the cow, who thinks about the garden, the economic situation does not promise them.
Xhaferr Vokshi has made it a habit to talk like the elders: leave these conversations, because these are the property of the government. One day he asked Gjovalin what citizenship he had: “I was worried,” he said, “I only have Albanian citizenship.” But in Gjakova, we told him, he does not like to go: I have Gjakova in Fier, he replied, I have a wife and children. When Peço opened the issue of tricks and ‘Blocks’, Xhaferri said: “Hallaile, do not mention the blocks to me, what did it take me to talk about the blocks, stay or be stupid in your work”. One day Xhaferri opened the issue of Albanian schools in Kosovo, and then Xhaviti asked him: “Why there is an Albanian school in Kosovo, our newspapers have written that there is not”. Xhaferri replied: “How is it that there is no Albanian school, do the newspapers say: Not only in Kosovo, but also in Zadar, there is an Albanian school. They (Yugoslavs) are not stupid; do you want to teach me what I think, teach us in your language”? Xhaferi associates more with Rasim Tahiri, not only because they were known in Kosovo, but also for the comedies they do here.
Rasim Tahiri: This is a headstrong, angry, sarcastic guy. Never participates in discussions. “I or brother,” he says, “I want to go home to the towers of the young toads.” Only once, when I told him how he was beaten by a Zogist “Bishtuku” in prison, he said to me: there is nothing after days”. When a conversation starts, he starts talking with his tongue and eyes. He often repeats these empty phrases: “Gjergj Mullaga said”, “the end of the hair chisels”, “he has the ceiling”, and many other Shkodra conversations.
Nuri Huta, he does not speak before, he stays away, and he is surprised for the things he hears, after he has been in prison before.

During these days the following issues have been discussed by the following persons:
Peço Fidhi: he was waiting for his wife and the others talked about the arrival of Peço’s wife, telling Peço that he would come on Saturday, after he did not come on Saturday, Peço is ill. But he did not show this anger, but said: “Officially, I was told that we will send the woman.” Peçoja, after Gjovalini asked him: why does he insist so much that his wife comes, Peçoja said: I need him, because I have a mysterious job, so do not ask me why he insists that his wife come? Peçoja, staying with Rasim Tahiri and Xhafer Vokshi, told you that: why did I have to go to Hulusi Spahiu, when the party had taken measures against him, he said that I had to associate with Pëllumb Dishnica and Niko (Yugoslav emigrant), this came from Peço, because they were asked about these people and Xhaferi said that Peço aggravated Pëllumb Dishnica.
Peçoja also said that he talked to him when he was a professor in Tirana, with Vasil Mici, and the other two secretaries, Njiazi Jaho and the one who is today the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of Vlora District and about this, says Xhaferi, when they fell from the places they had, of course Peço denounced them.
Peçoja, talking about the severance of relations between Egypt and Tunisia, said that: Nasser is a furious anti-communist and a second Duce. This was opposed by Xhavit Qesja and everyone else. Talking to Nuri Huta on scientific and philosophical issues, Peço said that: Vishnski has been unmasked a lot by Lisenko and considers their work worthless, while Gjovalin Luka, I oppose him by saying that: them and for the mistakes they have made, the Party criticizes them. Peço said that the History of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union is not worked on in the Party school in the Soviet Union. This was told to Xhavit Qesja.
Peçoja has taken this that the story of P.K. of B.S. has been removed after there are many mistakes, while in Albania the history of P.K. and B.S. has not been removed and here questioned. Peçoja says that: now Stalin is a dual strategist, while in the XX Congress he was severely criticized, i.e., that the work of Stalin is being looked at and for this Xhavit Qesja did not agree, and said that the decisions of the congress are being implemented. As for Peço’s stay with Pëllumb Dishnica, now they stay less often and do not talk as before, but on 20 / X / 1958 they went to the forest together and stayed for about an hour.
These people do not have a good opinion of Peço: Nuri Huta says that he has no character. Gjovalin Luka says he is a provocateur and will have taken people by the neck. Xhafer Vokshi, says that he will have charged people to save himself, he does not trust Peçoja. Now Gjovalini has started approaching Rasim, but does not talk to him.
Gjovalin Luka: he said that: in Tirana it is boiling again and I am surprised that Kin Dushi is not writing. This is what Rasim said. He also said that even for the XXI Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, we will not have the job easier but harder, if it is done, he said this after Rasim told him that ishalla on the occasion of the XXI Congress, release us. Regarding the economic issue, Gjovalini says that: the members of the agricultural cooperative do not have a good income, but as small employees and this is confirmed by Xhafer Vokshi, who cited Ballshi as an example.
Xhafer Vokshi says that he stayed with Petro Bullati, but does not say what he talked about. He also says that as much as Frano Jakova did, so do Filip Jakova and Kole Jakova, but they have days to protect themselves and have done self-criticism. Now Xhaferri does not speak at all, but says: I spoke what I said, but I do not speak here, after speaking, bring me here. But he says that the one who will speak here and if they ask me that the one who will speak here and if they ask me what they said in Zvërnec, I tell him. Xhaferri says that he stayed with Nurina in Ballësh almost every night, but did not talk about anything; this in my opinion is not true.
Pëllumb Dishnica: he does not speak, he stays, these days his fear has been removed, he stays calm.
Xhavit Qesja: he does not speak, he stays and listens more. But he is worried about the arrival of his mother and not meeting Xhavit and this is what his mother thinks, she says that they will have killed her son!
Nuri Huta: since Peço came, he has not spoken, but has had more medical and scientific conversations. Peço Fidhi praises Braho Toto, who lives on the “Liberation” Farm in Fier and says that Braho’s sentence, as an anti-Soviet element, was not fair, of course Peço talked to Braho.
