Memorie.al publishes some archival documents with the logo “Top secret” recently issued by the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana and the Central State Archive, which belong to a period of time from (1969-1991), where there is a correspondence between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Central Committee of the ALP and some of the Albanian diplomatic missions accredited in the West, such as Rome, Paris, etc., with telegrams, reports, reports, information, orders, diplomatic notes, invitations, articles world press newspapers, leaflets, photographs, etc., where it is about Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the famous Charity and Saint of Albanian origin, Gonxhe Bojaxhi, winner of several international awards, such as: “Padmashir”, and “Nehru “, by the Indian government in 1963 and 1972,” Magnasia “by the Philippine government which also proclaimed her” The Deserved Woman of Asia “, some peace awards from the US,” Golden Ambrogino “from Milan,” Universal Mother “in 1974 from cent emigrant orientation, and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. Calvary of Mother Teresa since 1969, who through French and Italian diplomatic channels, asked official Tirana to come to Albania, to her homeland, to visit her mother, Roza Bojaxhi, who at that time was 86 years old. year old and sick, as well as her sister, Age, who lived in Tirana. All the complete documentation (already declassified), extracted from the archives of the Albanian state, is made public for the first time by Memorie.al, where light is shed on all the charitable activity of the famous Saint, in aid of the poor in all over the world and her extraordinary desire to help her compatriots in communist Albania, as well as the total silence of official Tirana and the high communist leadership of that time, led by Ramiz Alia and Nexhmije Hoxha, who under different pretexts , Prevented her arrival in Albania and allowed it only in 1989, thanks to great international pressure!

Although all over the world she was known as Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the famous Charity and Saint Gonxhe Bojaxhi, winner of several international awards and the ‘Nobel’ Prize for Peace in 1979, never hid her Albanian origin, even by requested since 1969, through French, Italian, etc. diplomatic channels, (where the top diplomats of these two countries were engaged), to visit her mother and sister living in Tirana.

But despite the constant request to visit her homeland, then and then engaged some of the leading diplomats of these two Western countries with whom official Tirana had diplomatic relations, the communist regime of Enver Hoxha, did not allow it at all to come and see her mother who was in the last moments of life and Age Bojaxhi, passed away with the great hostage who could not see once again her daughter, Gonxhen, whom he had not seen , since she was a child, time when she had left home to become a nun.

But even after that, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, as she was known all over the world because of her charitable missions to help the poor and needy wherever they were, in all corners of the globe, not only did not got angry with those who did not allow her to see her mother, before she passed away, but instead, prayed for them and I keep asking tirelessly, for years, that she come one day to the birthplace of the first of her, even to put a bouquet of flowers on the grave of her mother and sister, who had already passed away.

But her demands, for two decades (from 1969 to 1989), were rejected on the most absurd pretexts by the communist regime of Enver Hoxha and then his successors, Ramiz Alia and Nexhmije Hoxha, who looked after her and the people who accompanied her: a “Vatican agent”, etc.!

Regarding these as well as all her ordeal of more than two decades to come to Albania, where she thought to open Charities, as she had done in different parts of the world, as well as the real reason why Ramiz Alia and Nexhmije Hoxha, decided to accept it in 1989, when she first came to her homeland, it is mentioned in many archival documents, where there is a correspondence between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana with the Central Committee of the ALP and some of the Albanian diplomatic missions accredited in the West, such as Rome, Paris, etc., with telegrams, reports, reports, information, ordinances, diplomatic notes, invitations, world press articles, magazines, leaflets, photographs, etc. ., etc., which are published for the first time by Memorie.al., in the historical dossier section, starting from this number.

                        No. 320                                                           Tirana on 27.11.1989

                                         I N F O R M A T I O N

On the stay of Janet Petria in our country.

From November 25-25, 1989, the Canadian journalist of Mother Teresa, Jeanet Petri, paid a private visit to Albania.

From the beginning of the visit, Jeanne Petri noted that she had come on a mission from Mother Teresa, which is also expressed in Mother Teresa’s letter. Her main task was to deliver Mother Teresa’s letters to Comrade Ramiz Alia, Comrade Nexhmije Hoxha, Comrade Jorgo Melica, Ciril Pistoli and Adelina Mazreku and to meet with some of the personalities.

After his visit to the “Enver Hoxha” museum, he insisted on meeting with his wife Nexhmije Hoxha, “even for two minutes”. He also prepared a special envelope in which he put all the copies of the letters, as well as a letter he wrote especially for the last day.

When he told you that his friend Nexhmije had taken the videotape and the letter, he was satisfied, despite the fact that he could not get an appointment. Unable to meet his wife Nexhmije, he asked if he could meet his daughter. He told you that state affairs could not be confused with private affairs.

During the conversations with her, Jeanne Petri said that Mother Teresa, from the day she left Albania and arrived in Rome, met with the Pope, who, as she said, “has an extraordinary love and respect for Mother”. When asked if the Pope showed any interest in our country, she overcame the conversation by saying that “he was pleased to see the photo album of the visit and stopped especially at the house where Mother Teresa’s mother and sister lived (we add that Mother Teresa thinks of putting the sisters in this house (even John Petri, asked how to act when buying a house). Mother Teresa donated to the Pope one of the carpets that had been given to her as a gift in Albania, which he accepted.

The purpose of sending the letters and Zh. Petris here, is finding ways and means to bring the sisters. The mother intends to bring four sisters, who may be of different nationalities, in addition to the primary, who is thought to be of Albanian origin. For this he suggests bringing Marie Gareth’s sister, who is in Washington D.C. and who holds an important post in the Assembly of Mother Teresa.

The mother admits that such a house may not necessarily open in Tirana. Admission conditions for sisters the mother leaves them in the hands of the host country. For this he also sends copies of two contracts with the Soviet Union. However, Mother Teresa plans to come to Albania herself at the end of December this year. For this he has refused every invitation that has been made to him.

Even Zh. Petri stressed several times in a row that: “you cannot imagine how uninvolved in politics is the Mother”. This is also the key to her success that she knows how to adapt the mission to the sisters where she has placed them “.

Arriving in Albania, Zhanet Petri emphasized that her mission was only Mother’s issue and not to visit. However, her interest in our country grew, especially after visiting the National Museum and the “Enver Hoxha” Museum. In the Museum “Enver Hoxha” he said that “it is good when you look closely at a place, because it also corrects the wrong opinions, which without your will, may have fed others”.

The next day he told us that he had bought some of the selected works of Comrade Enver Hoxha and some informative brochures. We donated some other materials, a series of photos from the visit with Mother Teresa (at her request), the enlarged photo of Mother Teresa’s sister at the grave and the method of learning the Albanian language (at her own request) Mother).

On the day of his departure, he informed us that the night before, two Albanians from America had been invited to dinner, one very tall and the other an Orthodox priest from Boston. She told us that they were aware of her coming from our mission to the UN. When asked “why did you come”, she told us “I avoid you because not everyone should know the reason for my visit”.

She was pleased with the visit and hoped to return.

Information-report of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Reiz Malile, sent to the Central Committee of the ALP, for the visit in Tirana of the companion of Mother Teresa, the director Zhanet Petrie

ON THE VISIT OF THE SECRETARY OF MOTHER TERESA IN TIRANA, ZHANET PETRI

These days, Mother Teresa’s secretary, journalist Zhanet Petri, paid a visit to Tirana.

She was received in the Committee for Cultural and Friendly Relations with the Outer World, visited museum institutions in Tirana and Berat, met with her friend Marie Kraja and Adelina Mazreku and went to the graves of Mother Teresa’s family.

Zhanet Petri said that she came to Albania by order of her mother, to bring her letters to comrade Ramiz Alia, wife Nexhmije Hoxha. He underlined that for sending the “sisters” to Albania “the mother received the president’s letter and was very pleased, read it several times, but did not find it, neither yes nor no”.

He added that one day we have to do something and that this mother expects this, that she accepts the Albanian reality, has started talking and is proud to be Albanian. According to Zhanet Petri, Mother Teresa’s wish is to come to Albania, together with her sisters, within a year.

The above handed to his friend Ciril Pistoli a picture of Mother Teresa, with her notes thanking him for the telegram he sent her when she was ill. He also submitted a letter to Jorgo Melica, and one to Adelina Mazreku, where he again addresses the issue of sending sisters to Albania.

Comrade Jorgo Melica emphasized that: “in Albania children are in nurseries and kindergartens, for those with mental disabilities there are special schools as well as for the mentally ill. The health service is free, that in Albania the fertility is stimulated, that in the misfortune that happens to a family the whole society participates, the reason for my visit ”as happened with the misfortune of November 23, (which she saw the ceremony organized with this case and said he could not believe such a thing could happen in America).

In India, Latin America and the Soviet Union, etc., your mission finds scope, because there are people left on the streets, homeless and helpless, abandoned children, homeless elderly, drug addicts, people with debilitating diseases and adhesive. Here in our country these are not found, because there are state institutions in which hundreds of boys and girls work as doctors, nurses, caregivers and educators, so any other mission would be unnecessary.

Although she listened with interest and approved, Jeanne Petri repeated: “let’s start thinking about the future”. During the conversations with her, Jeanne Petri said that Mother Teresa, since the day she left Albania and arrived in Rome, met with the Pope, who, as she said, has an extraordinary love and respect for Mother. “He was pleased to see the photo album of the visit and stopped especially at the house where Mother Teresa’s mother and sister lived. Mother Teresa donated to the Pope one of the carpets that had been given to her as a gift in Albania.

From the reception of treatment Zh. Petri, remained satisfied. Attached is the letter addressed to his friend Nexhmije Hoxha. For correctness, we think to give an answer from comrade Jorgo Melica, or Adelina Mazreku, where it will be emphasized that due to the reality of our society, there is no need to open a charity house. We will prepare the text.

Tirana, November 30, 1989

               Reiz Malile

Letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Reiz Malile, sent to Mother Teresa on December 20, 1989

            Tirana, December 20, 1989

                                  Respected Mother Teresa

We received your letters that you sent us with Mr. Janet Petri. I and your other friends were overjoyed by Mr. Petrie that you are now feeling better and that your health has improved.

During the days of your stay in Tirana, I felt a special pleasure to have the opportunity to accompany you in some of our health and social institutions, whose mission is to take care of the health and well-being of the people.

Attention to the sick or orphans in our country is a problem of the whole society and the state, who do not spare to do everything for them to live in prosperity and joy. In our conditions there is no need to open a charity house.

I and the other friends you have here respectfully appreciate your pious humanism.

  Reis Malile

Letter sent to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Reiz Malile, to approve the letter to be sent to Mother Teresa, on behalf of Adelina Mazreku

Comrade Reis!

Attached is the letter that is thought to be sent to Mother Teresa on behalf of sh. Adelian Mazreku 21.12.1989

Respected Mother Teresa

I was immensely glad for your letter, which you sent me with Mrs. Jeanet Petri, for which I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I remember with pleasure the days of your stay in our Homeland, but I was sorry that the visit time was short and you could not visit other parts of Albania. Just like in Tirana, where we together saw some of our health and social institutions, everywhere in Albania there are such institutions whose mission is to take care of human well-being, just as the family cares with love and warmth for its people.

Dear Mother Teresa

We had the opportunity to exchange views and tell you that in Albania, everything that has been done and is being done is dedicated to human happiness to free him from suffering, disease and epidemics, as well as from serious social wounds that make life difficult of millions of people in the world today.

Based on this, I believe that it is understandable for you that there is no need to open a mission of your sisters in Albania, whose humanity and care for the relief of pain we appreciate very much.

I conclude my letter, wishing you all the best for the New Year 1990, in the first place full health and always success in your high and noble mission.

With respect and love

Adelina Mazrreku

Information report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana, sent to the Central Committee of the ALP, regarding the request of the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, De Mikelis Grafini, for the arrival of a priest in Albania

                                                 I N F O R M A T I O N

On November 28, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Italian Foreign Minister, De Michelis Grafini, called our ambassador and asked him to:

  1. Along with Mother Teresa’s sisters to come to Albania and a priest who will serve only Mother Teresa’s sisters. In this regard, he explained, De Mikelis thought that this person could be an Italian who stays near the Italian embassy in Tirana and his service will be limited only to the sisters in question. This request, according to Graffini, De Michelis, was made by the Vatican Foreign Minister.
  2. Grafini went on to raise the issue of the Peoples. He said that since they are close, for them we can make an arrangement inside the embassy, giving them the office of cultural attaché. For this we can bring from Italy any box with material and furniture. I tell you this, Grafini added, so as not to create any doubt. Grafini linked this to the poor living conditions and that it would not be good for the Popes to be in this situation at the time of their non-posting abroad, with the intervention of a Red Cross organization, in the presence of Western and Italian representations.

Regarding the above, we think:

  • Our Ambassador to meet with the Deputy Chief of Cabinet, Grafini, and tell him that we welcome the visit of Mother Teresa to Albania, who came to be disgusted with her country and to pay homage to the cemetery of its own people. During this visit she was also interested in whether she could send four missionary sisters to Albania. In the meetings she had with officials, her humanitarian mission was praised and, among other things, she was told that we highly appreciate the sincere desire to have her sisters, the missionaries of charity, in Albania as well. She was convinced that this concern for poor people is also a humane and patriotic duty for thousands and thousands of boys and girls of the Albanian people, who as doctors and nurses, as caregivers and educators, are committed to the health and well-being of our people. .

During her stay in Albania, Mother Teresa had the opportunity to ascertain for herself the care shown for people, for their lives, for children, the elderly, the disabled, etc.

In the end, Grafin was told about this issue, that it became clear to Mother Teresa that her concern is also our concern and that the Albanian State gives priority to the care for the health and well-being of the people. In these conditions there is no basis and no need for the priest to come.

  • Regarding the incident with Popaj, to be told that Albania’s position has been made clear in time to the Italian side, and after lengthy talks, a mutually unacceptable path has been found that does not affect Albanian sovereignty, nor does it hurt Italian prestige or international laws and practice, for such cases. To re-emphasize briefly the guarantees given to Popaj, who became known to Ruxheros during his visit to Tirana and to tell him that any intervention to solve the problem outside the Albanian sovereignty, especially through a preliminary commitment with Italian plans, which is contrary to the Constitution and our laws, further complicates the problem. To be told that this is the position of the Albanian government and that there is no change.

Finally, to express our regret for the delay in resolving the incident and that any new suggestions or proposals, out of the way that have been found jointly for the solution of the problem, would create the impression that more importance is given to the six individuals held illegally at the embassy, rather than relations with the Albanian State. /Memorie.al
