When the students of “Sami Frashëri” wrote “Death of Enver Hoxha” on the walls

Kur nxënësit e “Sami Frashërit” shkruanin në mure “Vdekje Enver Hoxhës”

Memorie.al The secret document of 1963 is revealed, where Rrapo Dervishi informs Enver Hoxha about the event of “Sami Frashëri” and the students who were suspected as its perpetrators….?! (and some rare photos).

On February 20, 1991, thousands of demonstrators from Tirana and the districts rose in a large popular revolt, flooding Skanderbeg Square, where, under the blows of police rubber truncheons and bursts of bullets, they managed to knock down the September communist dictator Enver Hoxha. And to drag him to the streets of the capital to the city “Student” where the hunger strike of students continued for the removal of the name “Enver Hoxha” from the University of Tirana.

This event marked the end of the communist rule in Albania that under the leadership of Enver Hoxha had ruled with an iron fist for almost half a century one of the smallest, most backward and poorest countries in Europe. As it is already known, the role and figure of Enver Hoxha has been contested since November 1941 when he came to the helm of the Albanian Communist Party and in various ways, this would continue throughout the period of his rule.

As for the way dictatorships work (mainly communist ones), there have been very few people who have clashed directly with Enver Hoxha to demand his overthrow, while with anonymous letters, tracts and banners on walls or other public places. , (for the denigration of his figure), has existed constantly almost throughout the period of his rule and this is made known by dozens of archival documents. Related to this is this document from 1963, (which was taken from a voluminous file with the initials Top Secret), where the State Security has made a report-information on an event in the school “Sami Frashëri” in Tirana, where someone had written on the walls of the school “Death of Enver Hoxha”.

“As if Israel’s aggression were not enough, the British and French governments, under the pretext of ensuring passage through the Suez Canal, have dispatched…” / The political diary of Enver Hoxha, November 1956–’57.

“I told the police in Mamurras that those 15 women were given to me as a ‘gift’ by the Head of the Internal Affairs Branch, Gjolek Alia, but…” / The rare testimony of the former political persecutee, regarding the family members of the Burrel prisoners.

This seems to have alarmed the competent authorities and the event in question was reported in writing to Enver Hoxha himself and as a result, the State Security has made every effort to discover its perpetrator.

And according to another document in the file in question, the author of that slogan was a graduate student, Agron Vangjel Buzi (Lubonja), who was initially expelled from school and his case was sent for further action to the Internal Affairs Branch…

According to this document, Agron’s stepmother was of Yugoslav origin?! But for more on how this event happened and who were the initially suspected authors of that slogan, we know this archival document that is published for the first time and exclusively for the newspaper TemA.

Comrade Enver saw it

INFORMATION

On January 31, 1963, in the 11-year school “Sami Frashëri” between the second and third class was seen in the corridor of the third floor by the student Thoma Andon Jovani (his father works in the Ministry of Labor Interior) a hostile slogan with this content: Death of Enver Hoxha.

This slogan is written in black pen, with script letters, at a height of 1.59 meters, near the window from where the school yard can be seen. The wall is white and very clean and the slogans are very noticeable, especially when the students leave the classroom in the hallway to go downstairs.

Student Thoma Andon Jovani had received permission from the principal and was late to class in the third hour. After noticing that the third hour had begun, he went out into the main corridor of the third floor and immediately noticed the slogans. As soon as he saw him, he went downstairs and met the professional leader of the pioneers, Flamur Bregu, and announced the slogan, and immediately together they announced the director of the school, Comrade Pëllumb Çeli. Together they took the measure that they opened the window so that slogans could not be seen and immediately notified the Internal Affairs Branch.

The suspicions are that the slogan was written at the beginning of the third hour and was not written even in the first and second hour, as there was a circulation of students in the corridor and the slogan would have dictated that the size of the letters and the sentence stood out. It was not previously written that in the evening the window curtains were placed near the place where the slogans were found. Since it was dictated between the second and third class, it was verified at the school which students left this day after the first and second class without permission, especially in the third and third grade classes. the suspicion is localized in:

In the 10th grade is a Polish girl, the daughter of the chairman of the Polish Commercial Attaché, this has developed hostile activities and constantly makes political provocations. She has tried in every way to make love, first with Genc Tomço and now with Asim Shehu, students of the same class, although they categorically refuse, she gives you pictures of her. He took pictures of Polish artists to class, said that: if you follow the path of the Chinese, you will never build socialism, why do not you approach me, or that I am a revisionist, the student Engjëllushe Dizdari with whom I sit in a bank of She said:

“You Albanians do not love Poles.” Although her father was informed that his daughter should not be put into production at the job center, she went to the “Misto Mame” carpentry shop twice. She learns everything that is supposed to be organized in the classroom, be it youth organization meetings or activities, and insists on attending youth meetings. Fatjon Tugu left this class on January 31, 1963. He left without permission at 3 o’clock and when asked why he left, he said: “I found out that I had a sick grandmother.” Who said, “Let me know, little child.” Seeing this reasoning and the origin of his very bad family, that his brother tried for years to escape, while his sister was a member of the Balli Kombëtar circuit, as well as the fact that he left between the break of the second and third hour. – without permission, to strengthen the suspicion that he may have written the slogan.

There are also suspicions about the student Fitret Hysen Kraja, who left with permission to start the third hour for 20 minutes for personal work and returned to class at the fourth hour. This year he organized with the group of girls not to go to work, but to go to the Italian film and all collectively came to the film during practical work hours. Looking at her script writing that resembles that of the slogan, it is suspected that she may have written the slogan.

On February 1, 1963, from the remarks made by Thoma Andon Jovani, the students entering the class were very impressed that the graduating student Fisnik Kruja, turned his eyes for a long time to the place where the slogans were written.

From the verification of the guardian students, there is no case that any student has been removed from the lessons.

Only these people in the school know this issue: Pëllumb Çeli (principal), Sami Kotherja KP, Satber Imami, AP, Flamur Bregu and Thopma Jovani (student).
